- I know there's countless moments and storylines that led to the ultimate tie, but this was one of my favorite plots. Not only the sheer confidence, but the madlion actually pulled it off.
Hololive Sports Festival 2021 sure was something else.

Korone took a first place in the practice round after Botan was blown by a bomb. If she brought food, they would win for sure. This felt like anime episode haha

NGL I thought more people were going to pull a "punch the person in front of you" during the redlight greenlight, but would that kill them too because the game detected movement?
Its forbidden to punch iirc only allowed in obstacle race.
@@momogi618 I thought it may have been something like that. It would have been sick if they could have though, but if you punch during the red light you die. The trick is to punch them **RIGHT** before red light is called, but in doing so not move or punch too late. Someone like Pekora would probably die first trying to get others out. Three respawns and two kills per person, so that there isn't a mad loss for dying and the race will spread out.
That would've added an interesting layer of strategy to the game. Dunno how well any of them would've learned to make use of it in the limited practice time they had though.
@@Colopty They learned well enough t abuse moving before the greenlight was actually called. I will never doubt the gameplay and game-cheese abilities of Hololive because they are actually pro gamers in many ways.
@@pixelpastiche The difference is that the timer is very predictable, making it very easy to hone in on the perfect time to start running with some practice. On the other hand, pushing people at the right timing is a lot more of a fuzzy skill in terms of when it can be applied due to opponents being somewhat chaotic in the way they act. This gives less opportunities for the skill to be put into practice, which slows down the speed at which it can be learnt. Then of course since it's a skill that involves other people, once someone has gotten good at it others will adjust their play to account for that, creating a skill race as people get better at both pushing and avoiding getting pushed.
The ending montage of A-team is beautiful, and the puns top of the line.

Can we just congratulate everyone on white team for the red light/green light and not just Haachama? What if Botan or NeNe hadn't gotten a 1st and 2nd finish? Her 3 points wouldn't have meant anything so lets congratulate all of them instead of just her.

Why is it translated as Red Light/Green Light if Daruma-san is an actual game in Japan. Just weird to be using it.
Because Miko was inspired to create this minigame from watching Squid Game. They still call it Daruma-san which as you said is the counterpart in Japan, but they are also playing with EN and ID. Even the count down displays Red Light/Green Light so might as well translate it that way to avoid confusion
@@bukojuice315 nope.. If you understand Japanese, they call it Daruma-san and even the on screen text is Daruma-san.
On screen text when they start is "Daruma-san ga Koronda"

@@iScreamKun Sure, but the game is identical to Red Light/Green Light, which is the one the English-speaking girls are most likely to be familiar with. Besides, what Buko Juice means is that that Red Light/Green Light text is part of the actual mod in-game; JShay didn't add that in.
@@GrimSavant Daruma-san game has been known for so long and people often sees Red Light Green Light as a clone of As the Gods will Daruma-san game.
I can understand and read Japanese and no where it says Green Light Red Light.
@@iScreamKun it says Red Light / Green Light in English, right under the JP text. That’s not a subtitle, that was minecraft text displayed in-game, written by the girls who set up this event…like watch 2:40 , it’s quite literally always on your screen. No one is saying the JP text said that…
It was a very exciting sports festival, both teams did really well, and the ending was just perfect.
