I appreciate this video and how much advice you gave. I’d like to treat my father, now that I’m older, to a trip to Sardinia and specifically La Maddalena as he considered it his favorite place in his many years in the navy. Really, thank you for showing the area and what to expect. It has greatly helped me plan and hopefully we can have a family visit to this area and Italy in the near future. Cheers.
Very informative video. I am planning to visit there this summer. I am wondering if there are any shower facilities on the beach. Thanks in advance for the reply.
Im so glad it was helpful! You will have a great time. It’s a beautiful place. There are no facilities at all on the beaches since they’re pretty remote, but there are bathrooms on the boats. I don’t think there are showers though.
I was stationed there for 3 years and I have so many Italian friends still over there. I wish I can back and visit LA Maddalena, Italy. They closed the Naval base over there. It was actually a Naval Nuclear Submarine base.
That water looks so beautiful!! "Warm" is relative, haha, do you think the water was cold for maybe less experienced swimmers? Did you run into language barriers while purchasing tickets?
Good question! I’d say it was lukewarm. I wouldn’t call it cold though! Buying bus tickets we didn’t really run into any problems. We’d just say bus tickets to wherever we were going and didn’t have any problems. All the boat tour people spoke really good English so no issues there 😊
Yes, in Italy you need an international drivers license and you can’t get one online sadly. We could have paid a lot for extra insurance and then paid a fine if we were stopped by the police at least that’s what the car rental person said but we decided not to risk it.
We did the tour with Maggior Leggero! Everyone was very nice and helpful so we’d recommend them. You can easily book with them on Get Your Guide or their website. www.getyourguide.com/sardinia-l249/from-sardinia-la-maddalena-archipelago-full-day-boat-tour-t397679/?partner_id=3GT0JZN&cmp=LaMaddalenaTour

Were you not able to hire a car due to not having an international drivers license?
