As a senior citizen, it can literally be a life saver. Here are the comments I made on a FSD drive I d id last week: We had to go to the Pickerington Public Library to pick up two books and the Library is programmed into the Navigation App in the car. We pulled out of the driveway, selected Pickerington Public Library as the destination, and engaged full self-driving by flipping the right stalk down. The car drove to the corner, turned on its turn signal and stopped. It waited for traffic to pass and turned right. A block later it stopped at the stop sign, turned on the left turn signal, and when traffic was clear turned left and proceeded to the intersection at Hill Road. We had a green light. The car turned on its left turn signal and held position until the oncoming traffic had passed. Then, it turned left onto Hill Road and headed south toward the library. It successfully slowed down and speeded up to match traffic, stopped at stop lights and turned left onto the road to the library. It then turned right into the library parking lot. All I had to do was keep my hand on the steering wheel. The car read the speed limit signs and reacted accordingly. It kept pace with traffic. It avoided conflicts. We took a drive. We left the Pickerington Central High School campus where the library is located, turned left on Lockville Road, and engaged full self-driving again. The car made a right turn onto State Route 256 and changed speeds when the speed limits changed. We drove to Baltimore, Ohio and the car followed all the curves in the road. I took over in Baltimore for a while when we drove through town. I turned left on SR 158, selected “home” as the destination, and reengaged full self-driving. The car obeyed all the speed signages and behaved properly at the intersections. The only worry I had is when we were getting close to home. We entered a road construction area where we needed to make a right turn. All the orange barrels survived. The car drove through the subdivision and stopped right at our driveway. As Darth Vader would say, “Most impressive!” BTW, I could have also pushed a button on the steering wheel and said “Pickerington Public Library” or “home” and it would have displayed the destination on the screen. And if I engaged Full Self-Driving, taken us there. If I selected your houses, in addition to the routing it would have displayed where I could charge the battery at a Tesla Supercharger. We still have a few more weeks left on the Full Self-Driving trial. We will then have to decide where to spring for the $99/month cost of full self-driving or make do with the autopilot features that only work on freeways. Tesla is very clear that the mode is Full Self-Driving (Supervised) and your hands have to be on the steering wheel at all times. And paying attending, which the car determines by a camera. These capabilities are a godsend for aging people. Like us.
Totally agree with your recommendation. Do not purchase at the time of the car purchase, buy it later-or better yet, subscribe. I subscribe and pay $99/mo (I had purchased Enhanced Autopilot, which I sort of regret now.) FSD, for me, actually makes driving more difficult. It reminds me of when I am flying an aircraft. I have to be super diligent and look at gauges frequently, make sure I’m following the course ATC tells me to follow, and constantly look around. With FSD, in addition to paying attention to the road (and anticipating what other drives may do), I have the added burden of making sure it’s not going to do something I don’t want. It randomly changes lanes for no reason that I can see. It brakes suddenly for no apparent reason (EAP does this too), when it’s turning sometimes it just decides mid-turn that it should do something else. Stress. Sometimes it’s embarrassing, such as when it turns on the turn signal to change lanes, starts the change, and then decides it not going to do that.
I have the Tesla and the feature i love the most about Tesla is the Full Self Driving and autopilot. I got sick to travel from Las Vegas to San jose, so i just turn on FSD and autopilot.
I have the standard Autopilot in my '24 MYLR and have been pushing how it handles in town, and honestly, it's WAY more powerful than I originally expected. As much as I'd like FSD, I don't have an extra $12k to blow and for how little I drive the car, standard Autopilot is plenty amazing for me!
Honestly if it costed like 3-4 thousand USD I would buy it, that 8k price tag is just not in anyone's budget. Hope more people demand a price reduction, that way more people will buy it and actually make way more money than selling it for more.
We have FSD on our 2018 M3. We got it when they had that sale that pissed off a lot of owners for 5K. It was worth it for us as we take a lot of trips to So-Cal and the new v12 is finally feeling like they are going in the right direction. That being said on our 2023 Model Y we didn't purchase it. The autopilot that comes with it is really enough for us but it would be nice if it allowed you to make a lane change when you use the blinker (auto change lane that is). I don't really need the car to make all of the lane changes on its own during our trips as its decision making on when to get over can be irritating at times. My $.02.... after probably 50k of autopilot miles.
I don't like the fact that Tesla assigns that FSD purchase you made to that particular car only and not to your account. Any other vehicles purchased under your account should be allowed to use FSD.
If you do a decent amount of driving and can afford it. Yes, it is worth it for me. Especially now that 12.3 is out, it is very close (months) to not be in 'beta' anymore.
Please be careful I had several hours of freeway driving on FSD 12.3 and the enhancements only apply mainly to street roads on the freeway it defaults back to version 11. Same old behaviors like at times going too wide when changing lanes causing other cars to think you're about to skip the lane and merge onto their (3rd) lane then the car pulls itself back into the center of the (2nd) lane. Sudden reduction in speed on the freeway, driving on the yellow lane near the shoulder of the fast lane during slight turns/bends causing constant bumps on the drivers side during the turn.
Chances are, you have committed what is called an unsafe lane change, which is illegal in all states. It doesn’t matter that you are legally permitted to change lanes if you do so in a way that was dangerous to yourself or others.
I am not ready to jump into FSD or Enhanced Autopilot. I just buy before long road trips which are few. I love basic autopilot. It rocks for day to day driving.
I got docked like ten points on the test to get my drivers license for changing lanes in an intersection. The women giving me the test said that it was a violation and was unsafe due to the chances of being hit by someone who was turning right on red into what would have been a clear lane until I moved into it. That was 1996 in Oregon so who knows today.
Hey Chris, thanks for all the videos. We got a model y last month and your content really made it easier to transition to an Ev. Wife and I have seen most of your stuff and your content is way better than 99% of other tesla content creators. Keep up the great work! P. S. What's the diet and work out routine? Wife is complaining of the dad bod lolol
I actually worked on FSD in its infancy back in 2014, I was an intern from Berkeley working on it near Fremont. Not sure if theyre still open in Fremont anymore but anyway. I pitched the idea of having data being triangulated between tesla cars for better predicting road conditions etc. Back then they didnt take it seriously but im pretty sure they integrated it into their new patches plus cameras are better than sensors imo. After graduating i went to apple since they were paying substantially more at the time and im just a broke boy from ghetto L.A. I really enjoyed working on FSD it was one of those things everyone still asks me about on my resume. I bought a 2024 M3 and used FSD for the first time since 2015 and man is it way better. It actually predicts events fairly well thats why i think theyre triangulating data with other teslas bc here in the OC theres TONS of Teslas and ive noticed the performance being better than when im in lets say, Fresno, CA. In Fresno it still drives correctly but i find it being less responsive to changes in traffic. But anyway, id suggest paying monthly because i predict car manufactures throwing in FSD for free in my cars eventually especially since chinese manufacturers are trying to hit U.S market. That will put pressure on Tesla to include it Free in their new models but that might be a few years from now.
Love your videos. I got a 2017 Model S with Enhanced Autopilot not working now due to camera or other sensors failing. You'd think such an advanced car with FSD or Enhanced Autopilot would at the least have simple cruise control available when some sensors fail. It's amazing that they remove it.
I haven't cuz upgrading would mean that they remove my ultrasonic sensors, I only hear tesla vision sucks, what u think? Damn just to save money and make cheaper cars? I have model s 2019 with enhanced autopilot and I'm kinda happy with my hdw 2.5
I love FSD, but It is also not great at parking. We like to back our car into our driveway to charge, and there's current no way to teach the car that.
I loved the FSD trial but I didn't buy the $12k package because I didn't plan to keep my Tesla forever. Now that I've owned it and driven other EVs I don't think I'd buy any other EV and being able to transfer it makes me regret not buying FSD
I have a 3 month trial and i have found it very unsafe. On the freeway on the carpool with open lane it started braking at 75 mph and i was expecting it to do that so took over right away. I could have gotten rear ended. Double left turn lane it sometimes goes too far out and it feels like its going straight to the curb. At night it doesn't recognize school zone sign only for school hours so it would slow down to 25 mph instead of going the regular speed limit of 40 mph. Another was when it navigated a freeway exit that split into 2 lanes it missed the exit even though there was no other cars behind me or in front. I dont think it is worth to buy. Also with the sixth sense yes for sure the car doesnt have it.
"Standard" autopilot still feels so magical to me and works so well, I've not even been tempted to pay for upgrades. Granted, I kinda like driving so I certainly don't mind taking over on surface streets. It's really nice to let the car handle most of the busy-work on my long commute, though, and it sure does reduce fatigue.
I was dreading researching this because I thought I was gonna have to slog thru overexplained or stretched or boring videos This was perfect, told me a ton of a good info in a quick natural way. Without the cut paste video narration cadence so many channels have. Thanks man!
I personally couldn't handle the stress if I needed to take over control from FSD. So yeah, I would rather buy a full-working version and not a beta version. But on the other side, I'm afraid if I wait too long then Tesla will jack up the price, and I'll get priced out. It seems like v12 is in the direction of that full-working version. I just don't know how long it will take to get there.
If I buy enhanced autopilot for 6 k and then decide to add FSD later on , do I have to pay extra 6 k for FSD or more ?? Does enhanced autopilot give the view of FSD because I like the street view and screen view of FSD. However I don’t like the sudden lane change by FSD because sometimes it has its own odd behavior. I would prefer to control lane change like we can do in enhanced auto pilot.
In Canada, changing lanes in the intersection is against the law. You won't get pulled over for it, however, if you cause an accident because of it, it's 100% your fault.
Chris have you heard anybody else express frustration with the free auto-drive after the "recall" notice upgrade? Ever since that "upgrade," in my Model Y, I can't take my eyes off the road for anything! It yells at me and will stop letting you use the auto-drive option. In the notes it said if you let the alarm go too long a couple of times in 24 hours, or something like that, it will disable Auto-drive for a week or two. (I haven't had that happen.) Sunglasses seem to help.
This video is 6 months old. How is self driving now? We’re thinking of buying a Tesla Y and they’re now offering 0% APR if we get the $8000 self driving.
I didn't like it changing lane in the middle of intersection either. It hasn't been doing that at my usual spots with V12.3. 2 Teslas household here, but only one has FSD. I do love to drive with FSD every time I can.
I cant get over the fact, they wont let you transfer it to other teslas you buy. Since the subscription service means they can cut it on and off with a press of a button. I see so little rage about this.
I have the version 12.3 FSD (3 month trial) I like the street driving improvements but in the freeway since its still defaults to version 11 I honestly think a compatible corolla, Camry or highlander with comma 3 device still drives better than Tesla based on my experience with a semi compatible 2019 Camry.
I’m thinking Tesla would sell a lot more vehicles and would not have any issue doubling the production every year if they just did more advertisement and lowered margin so everybody could afford just about every vehicle and understand how much better they are compared to gas powered vehicles in every way
I bought my Model 3 Performance with FSD included. I use it pretty much every day. I live in a small enough town without too much traffic. The way I describe it is it's like having a 16yo student driver. It makes dumb decisions sometimes. But the tech nerd in me loves seeing how it will react to different situations and how it improves over time. So I'm definitely glad I have it. $12K or $200/mo is very expensive though. It's hard to put a value on it, really. The more I use it, the more I think it might be worth it.
When I think to myself. How much would I really use full self driving? Not that much. Advanced autopilot, yeah that's cool, I'd have that. But the full thing? Probably wouldn't use it as much. Might just be me, because I have 3 kids. At least not until a higher level, where I'm not at fault for any accidents. Otherwise, I really don't mind. Not like it's hard. It's just massive FOMO. But since I don't have my car yet. What's the actual difference between Advanced autopilot and FSD, besides driving on city roads. I'm mostly just interested in road trips, highways and stuff like that.
I did not buy FSD on my Model Y. The problem with Tesla contour following is you have to jerk the steering wheel every 30 seconds. And on the last two month, they changed the system to be inactive for 1 week if the car notice you have not paid attention for 5 times. It is very annoying to have this.
I just downloaded FSD 12.3 but haven't had the chance to try it yet. I'm anxious to, but will be disappointed if it still cannot find my house or exit the gate in my neighborhood. I will also be disappointed if it changes lanes in the middle of the intersection, because not only is it annoying and potentially dangerous in my local spot where it always wants to do that, it is generally illegal, at least in CA (it's in the vehicle code), to change lanes in the middle of an intersection unless it is for safety. Here's the one caveat, Chris. I think FSD is going to be making huge advancements in the coming months and at some point, Tesla will give free trials of it to everyone. But at that point, I would expect the cost for FSD, both outright and monthly subscription, to increase as well. Really good and balanced insights from you, BTW. You're really great at this. Cheers.
@@Kjin3It's not a matter of opinion. It's in the vehicle code. I've read it. While it may not get you a ticket, it is generally frowned upon to change lanes in an intersection.
Interesting! Good Points! I knew it was illegal! I wonder why lots of people told me it's legal and why Tesla still does it lol. Thanks Jeff! hope all is well
@@JeffMcNeal Maybe you should read it again :) There isn't a specific California Vehicle Code (CVC) section that explicitly says it's legal to change lanes in an intersection. However, the general lane change rules outlined in CVC Sections 22107 and 22108 indirectly imply it's permissible under certain conditions. Here's the breakdown: CVC Section 22107: This section prohibits unsafe lane changes. It states that a driver can't change lanes "until such movement can be made with reasonable safety" [California Vehicle Code § 22107 CVC]. This section focuses on the safety aspect, not the location of the lane change. CVC Section 22108: This section requires drivers to signal before changing lanes "in the event any other vehicle may be affected by the movement" [California Vehicle Code § 22108 CVC]. Again, the focus is on ensuring other drivers are aware of your intent, not the specific location of the lane change. So, as long as you follow the rules for safe lane changes (signaling, checking blind spots, having enough space), there's no legal code directly prohibiting lane changes in intersections. However, remember it's generally discouraged due to the increased risk of accidents.
I just tried out FSD for my first time yesterday--spent about 2 hours letting it drive. But I couldn't figure out how to make it go a bit faster. For example, I was on a 4 lane parkway and I wanted to go 10 or so over the speed limit, but if often went slower even when nothing was in front of us--I played around with trying to add +10 mpr and a percentage but nothing seemed to really work. The most annoying was when it wouldn' even keep up with a car ahead of us--any suggeestions? Overall I was impressed with FSD!
Excellent video! I bought my first Tesla just 14 months ago, so I never knew the progression of FSD! This was a very helpful video, Chris! I am jealous you only paid $8k! I would buy it for $8k, in a heart beat! $12k is a bit much, especially with the current option for subscription at only $199/month. I love using FSD!
I think it's BS that Tesla still offers advanced autopilot without telling the consumer that majority of the features don't work as of yet !! Ridiculous. I would only push out a product if it is available with all the features advertised. Driving on the highway by itself is not worth 6000 !! Maybe in the future I will get it but only once all the features are able to work and when it has been tested by several people.
What do you think about Tesla essentially dropping FSD support for HW3 cars? I know they said that they would retrofit FSD 12.5 to work on HW3 but they haven't yet and this tells me the handwriting is on the wall for no continued support. This is a huge number of cars that will be dead ended for FSD. They were probably selling new HW3 cars into early 2024.
Despite your strong accent, You were quite good at making your points understandable. Count me in as a New Subscriber! I watched a road test of FSD 12.2 on NOW YOU KNOW channel and I was impressed with how much improved it is now. But I still think the price is way too high. I feel like its price will drop like a rock in the next year or two. If it was $2,000 or less, it would be a NO Brainer to buy it as a New car purchase.
It's a shame to see people on the internet thinking it's a "real" FSD system and not a beta. So, for example, that they are on their cell phones, sleeping or something similar and this creates bad marketing for Tesla by saying that these cars are bad. simply because some Tesla owners don't pay attention while driving and rely completely on the system
They keep saying jargony stuff like replacing 200 lines of C++ code, and I don’t know how much code that really is to begin with. Good video by the way.
v12 is (relatively speaking) amazing. Overall, I have the feeling that the two of us (FSD and I) together are much better and safer than either of us alone.
More people need to watch and Subscribe this guy's video. Because all other videos I see it's basically FORD and GM spending $$$ to do false advertising about their Self Driving better than TESLA LMAO
I have v12.3 and it's really bad. Drives very slow like 10mph under the speed limit. Turns even slower. Pisses everyone off behind me. I'm so embarrassed using it.
Anyone else here has a 2017 Model S with FSD? I received the 12.14.5 update which upgraded my FSD to V12.3.6. And then I received the 12.13.9 update and I thought that would take me to FSD V12.14 but it didn’t happen. I wonder if older cars like mine will remain on 12.3.6 now considering there is no interior camera to make sure driver is paying attention (which makes the nag go away). Anyone out there with a legacy Tesla without an interior cam on FSD 12.4?
@ nice, I finally got upgraded to V12.5.4.2 so it’s keeping up. But since we don’t have Sentry Mode with Live video, I wonder if we’ll get “Actually Smart Summon”. Let’s see what happens
@@TheMKTube Mine did the upgrade V12.5.4.2 as well. I do have smart summons but only works in private roads, parking lot etc. I also have the Connectivity package as well as the FSD package so maybe those are required?
Helpful video as always. Looks good but don’t have 12K to buy it and not a fan on monthly subscription for $199 either. Haven’t received the free 1 month FSD trial either since I am already at 2024.8.7. Oh well …
So you have Ver 12. And still not good for you?.. Every body on TH-cam is saying how much they like it. I would subscribe to it if I knew I would get ver 12. I have had 4 tesla so far. First one 2018. Model 3. Bought fsd. 8000.00. Then my wife wanted a Model Y. I told her we would lose FSD. She did not care. Car now is 2024 Red Model Y.
You said Kia…but yall sleeping on Hyundai. 2024 Sonata drives itself basically on the highway…takes curves, changes lanes etc…it’s not Tesla fsd but it’s also free lol
If, and when, Tesla adopts FLIR sensors. That is the day I will strongly consider the self driving option. There is no advantage to having a clunky computer make questionable judgement calls based on input from a camera, which has all the limitations of a human eyeball, and then some. Cameras are blocked by foggy windshields. They are covered by ice. They cant see thru fog. And they have a hard time seeing at night. Let alone going from bright sunshine, into a dark tunnel. The human eye is far quicker to adapt to changing light conditions, and the mind can handle pattern recognition to fill in the blanks. What we need is other sensory input that s outside the scope of human ability. To augment the drive. To improve us, and to offer an outright advantage to the computer. Where on a dark, foggy night. With a headlight burned out, the car has zero problems, and can actually see better in the dark than daylight.
I’m sure this will ramp significantly with computer power and data 📈 and make this glimpse seem very early on / completely different than the 10x better than a human version in a year or less
If someone is waiting for the system to be perfect, they will be waiting forever. Human drivers aren’t even perfect. I do wish I could make more fine tune adjustments to fit my driving preferences tho.
Why does anyone need Full Self-Driving’ Mode? That along with other problems in EV’s, is causing people to lose interest. Tesla has lost millions of dollars because of FSD failures. If you can’t operate the vehicle yourself, then take the bus or Uber.
I like how he’s reading about the update for version 12 and then says “like I know what that means”😂 buddy it’s an end to end neural net. Like a human and how we use our eyes to understand the world around us and then react accordingly. You say “they said it was going to work for V10 and V11”😂 this is actually the only way it is ever going to work. It blows my mind how many people are ignorant to the fact that Tesla has done it. When someone says they have a competitor “Kia”😂 it has be rolling in the grave I’m not even in yet. Tesla has no serious competition in the automotive and autonomous driving world.
the best part is Elon just went on record people might have to upgrade to HW4 to get FSD. Hopefully everyone that paid for FSD expected that and isn't shocked they got bitch slapped by Elon.
Just got the V12 update. I absolutely love it, much smarter and smoother. Had it for almost 2 years, but now is the time i would recommend buying it.
Nice! I'm still testing it out
I wouldn’t recommend it at all sure it’s good but sometimes I find it’s perfect other times I find it’s not and the errors it makes are critical. On the freeway it’s great but on city streets it’s just not ready yet

Sudden reduction in speed on the freeway, driving on the yellow lane near the shoulder of the fast lane during slight turns/bends causing constant bumps on the drivers side during the turn.
How did the trip go? I’m Seattle to Ohio
@@alainsabum It went very well. It’s nearly perfect on the freeway, but pay attention on the two lanes. The recent sun glasses update was appreciated.
The same happened to me on my test in central California in 1991.
Used Model Y performance comes with FSD so not worth paying $15k to get it on a new one. You can also do it on a month to month basis.
Wow that's smart
Hey Chris, thanks for all the videos. We got a model y last month and your content really made it easier to transition to an Ev. Wife and I have seen most of your stuff and your content is way better than 99% of other tesla content creators. Keep up the great work!
P. S. What's the diet and work out routine? Wife is complaining of the dad bod lolol
Haha ty!!! For me it’s less carbs, no eating out. Yogurt chicken hummus. Then gym -3-4 times a week with cardio!!
great video. completely agree with your points. I too regret getting FSD. cool features but ultimately not worth the price tag imo
That will put pressure on Tesla to include it Free in their new models but that might be a few years from now.
cool!
Love your videos. I got a 2017 Model S with Enhanced Autopilot not working now due to camera or other sensors failing. You'd think such an advanced car with FSD or Enhanced Autopilot would at the least have simple cruise control available when some sensors fail. It's amazing that they remove it.
Yeah how much money are they actually saving?
Talk to Tesla. I heard legacy FSD cars may be eligible to receive a free camera upgrade
I haven't cuz upgrading would mean that they remove my ultrasonic sensors, I only hear tesla vision sucks, what u think? Damn just to save money and make cheaper cars? I have model s 2019 with enhanced autopilot and I'm kinda happy with my hdw 2.5
Yeah true
I love FSD, but It is also not great at parking. We like to back our car into our driveway to charge, and there's current no way to teach the car that.
is the summon/smart summon and the lane changing with indicators a good feature that works?
Lane change is a good feature. Summon is still ok
Yeah does some random stuff
"Standard" autopilot still feels so magical to me and works so well, I've not even been tempted to pay for upgrades. Granted, I kinda like driving so I certainly don't mind taking over on surface streets. It's really nice to let the car handle most of the busy-work on my long commute, though, and it sure does reduce fatigue.
So AI from V11 to V12 in one month clocked over a billion hours of self driving in all conditions. Definitely a huge upgrade.
Great video. Just wondering if any M3 Highland owners have FSD beta yet.
Should be if they paid for it!
I was dreading researching this because I thought I was gonna have to slog thru overexplained or stretched or boring videos
This was perfect, told me a ton of a good info in a quick natural way.
Very stressful lol
Are you able to switch from full self driving to regular driving whenever you’d like to switch while you’re driving?
Yes, but it seems you cannot switch from FSD to enhanced auto pilot or even TACC.
Having FSD has been to participate in a tech revolution!
I just think it has to be transferable too!
Yes! sunglasses help but they make it very annoying so make sure to keep your hand on the wheel and apply that counterforce due to the regulations
This video is 6 months old. How is self driving now? We’re thinking of buying a Tesla Y and they’re now offering 0% APR if we get the $8000 self driving.
Self driving is wonderful now, just not in democratic cities.
It drives like my grandma. But there was some improvements on my first drive with V12
I didn't like it changing lane in the middle of intersection either. It hasn't been doing that at my usual spots with V12.3. 2 Teslas household here, but only one has FSD. I do love to drive with FSD every time I can.
in my state, if you change lanes in an intersection, you can be pulled over and get a ticket
This is true in most states.
Officers are never around when you drive illegally so I think we’ll all be alr
I cant get over the fact, they wont let you transfer it to other teslas you buy. Since the subscription service means they can cut it on and off with a press of a button.
I see so little rage about this.
I use self drive mode when im drunk from the bar
😂
That's actually the same reason I'm thinking about getting it. That and I'm getting old and sometimes don't see things that are there.
@katana1960 I battle with anxiety recently in life and I use tesla to drive home from work haha self drive mode. I'm also focused on the road
I was looking at used Teslas because I’m not rich and I want to pay cash. Almost every single Tesla I listed as at least one banged up wheel.
You answered all my FSD questions , Thank you!!
Yeah true
I did not buy FSD on my Model Y. The problem with Tesla contour following is you have to jerk the steering wheel every 30 seconds. And on the last two month, they changed the system to be inactive for 1 week if the car notice you have not paid attention for 5 times. It is very annoying to have this.
You can simply use the scroll wheel and that works as well
I never thought I’d buy it. But now using version 12 honestly is making me really want is. 12k it’s a lot of money. I might just upgrade to a 2024.
I have ordered FSD with my Model Y P because I think it may be ready next year 😊
Excellent video. You are very knowledgeable about the technology and this is a great explanation for first-time buyers.
Cheers.
I also used to think this was illegal, but actually it is legal in CA to change lanes in middle of intersection. As long as it is done safely.
Here's the breakdown:
CVC Section 22107: This section prohibits unsafe lane changes.
What if I have an 1:40 daily commute - on a freeway? I think it would be worth it then
I just tried out FSD for my first time yesterday--spent about 2 hours letting it drive.
Haha when we get it on the cyber will be insane
It will improve steadily again and again.. but honestly this has just passed the point at which I'm mind blown!
They need to make it cheaper or let people know!
I would like a system that takes over when I fall asleep on the highway. What system does that?
An ambulance
good thing I'm not poor!!!
Is this a call for help with a video length of 911? :D HAHAHA!
hahah
What do you think about Tesla essentially dropping FSD support for HW3 cars? I know they said that they would retrofit FSD 12.5 to work on HW3 but they haven't yet and this tells me the handwriting is on the wall for no continued support. This is a huge number of cars that will be dead ended for FSD. They were probably selling new HW3 cars into early 2024.
Do you have 12.3?
i paid for the 6k EAP. then just pay $99 per month if i have long road trip planned
how about lower the ABoosting half the price, magin goes up 10x.
Wait till you get version 12.3, a big improvement!😮
Haha gonna have to do a video
V12 and beyond people know what’s up. $200/month is better than paying $12,000 since it’s not transferable from vehicle to vehicle.
I am sure 13.13 will be a game changer too.
More people need to watch and Subscribe this guy's video. Because all other videos I see it's basically FORD and GM spending $$$ to do false advertising about their Self Driving better than TESLA LMAO
FSD still does not resolve traffic jams, the only solution is to improve public transport
I have v12.3 and it's really bad. Drives very slow like 10mph under the speed limit. Turns even slower. Pisses everyone off behind me. I'm so embarrassed using it.
Chris, I love all of your videos of Irvine!
Yay! Thank you!
I own a 2017 Model S and I have FSD.
About two days ago received the upgrade to V12.5.4.1
Still trying it out.
@@TheMKTubeBy the way with the update the FSD is working amazingly. 👌🏽
Helpful video as always. Looks good but don’t have 12K to buy it and not a fan on monthly subscription for $199 either. Haven’t received the free 1 month FSD trial either since I am already at 2024.8.7. Oh well …
Yeah. Oh what the. But still not fully ready
Changing lanes in the middle of the intersection is illegal in Florida 👀
I have FSD because soon it will be ready
So you have Ver 12. And still not good for you?..
Every body on TH-cam is saying how much they like it.
I would subscribe to it if I knew
I would get ver 12. I have had 4 tesla so far. First one 2018. Model 3. Bought fsd. 8000.00.
Then my wife wanted a Model Y. I told her we would lose FSD. She did not care. Car now is 2024 Red Model Y.
It’s too new but it’s not perfect for sure
Do you know if I would get Ver 12 if I signed up for it?
Or just poeple that make youtube video??
@@Sunnycal77-sn5vw 12.3 is not fully rolled out yet to everybody, i would guess maybe a couple more weeks before it gets to everybody.
Everyone gets it. It's a roll out. I get zero special treatment from Tesla@@Sunnycal77-sn5vw
Hey I just got new update fsd and summon. Is there a new auto park update and how does it work, how do u engage…..don’t see it on app or car display ?
You said Kia…but yall sleeping on Hyundai. 2024 Sonata drives itself basically on the highway…takes curves, changes lanes etc…it’s not Tesla fsd but it’s also free lol
Is it free? It’s for a 30 days period I guess
Yah 30
Maybe u could have made this video after testing v12 becuas your experiences are out dated w old versions. Bad recommendatuon for a new consumer
I love fsd. The only time I need to take over is when the car exits from the freeway. The speed limit does not change right away.
how can you say no other car manufacturer has when Mercedes already has level 3 driving in the EQS
It’s still in Beta but it’s a better driver than I am 😅
"Autopilot sends Tesla onto train tracks. California cops say feature mistook railroad for street"
I’m sure this will ramp significantly with computer power and data 📈 and make this glimpse seem very early on
/ completely different than the 10x better than a human version in a year or less
If someone is waiting for the system to be perfect, they will be waiting forever. Human drivers aren’t even perfect. I do wish I could make more fine tune adjustments to fit my driving preferences tho.
My next car will have fsd
Why does anyone need Full Self-Driving’ Mode? That along with other problems in EV’s, is causing people to lose interest. Tesla has lost millions of dollars because of FSD failures. If you can’t operate the vehicle yourself, then take the bus or Uber.
You dont understand you can do something else in the car without crashing into something
Nice video!
I'd father have Waymo myself.
Free? No it isn't. It's a £6,800 option!
It's free in the US for one month as a trial.
the best part is Elon just went on record people might have to upgrade to HW4 to get FSD. Hopefully everyone that paid for FSD expected that and isn't shocked they got bitch slapped by Elon.
