In this video from Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Bethel Church in Redding, California, Kris Vallotton shares about how only love can bring transformation! In this message, Kris Vallotton explains how love expressed, person to person, is the key for transformation. As the body of Christ, it is our responsibility and privilege to extend love to one another!
    Sermon Notes:
I want the world to have an experience with God! Jesus in and through me may be the only Jesus someone knows. I am to be His hands extended to the world. How I feel about me has everything to do with how they experience Him through me.
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” John 13:14 The law said to love your neighbor as yourself. Loving people isn’t the new commend Jesus is giving His disciples. It’s loving people the way He has loved us. There’s something powerful about people experiencing God’s love that they don’t deserve and can’t explain.
“Do not let kindness and truth leave you; Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart.” Proverbs 3:3 What if we exuded kindness everywhere we go? I personally was never transformed until I experienced the love of God.
The only ones who can love people are God and you. If we want people to experience love, we have to individually love others.
I love strategic planning and the institution of the church doing good things. But if you want to change the world, you have to do it through people loving people and people experiencing the love of God for themselves.
    Scripture:
    Matthew 22:39, 1 John 1:9-2:2, Romans 5:8, 1 John 3:9, John 13:34-35, Luke 6:28-36, Proverbs 3:3, 1 Corinthians 13:1-7, Nehemiah.

I don't know if this is accurate or not but I feel like God doesn't want me to be able to have the gifts of the Spirit until I can love better, particular my husband and kids, otherwise I'll sound like a noisy gong. But on the other hand I feel like I need something special from Holy Spirit so that I can conquer my sin. What you said is so deep and inspires me to think i can live a life of love if somehow He can flow through me. I am just so scared im going to fall into temptation again that i dont want to get my hopes up.i need to listen again

Jesus did not leave a professional cornerstone. When we arrive at the meeting the Lord has called we will be the same. "Where the body is the eagles will gather"

I'm so confused. You said you didn't sin anymore but then you confessed you have an addiction to spending needlessly at home depot and you wrestled with impatience, im not sure if the car driving led you to actually becoming impatient. I'm not judging you Brother, I love you, but I'm just trying to wrap my mind around this thinking . I'm trying to learn to love myself more so that I can love others better thank you so much for that insight.

Have you thought about this? God actually loves us with two different kinds of love: agape, which is giving, that is, we do whatever is in our power so that the person we love can be the best she or he can be. The second kind of love is romantic: this is NOT sexual love. Romantic love is a receiving love; with romantic love we receive joy every time we think of our beloved. And we think of them all the time. We think of them with joy as we get ready for bed at night. When we wake up in the morning we think of them again with joy. We receive joy in romance.
I believe that God loves us romantically as well. Remember we are God’s bride. The wedding feast is still in the future. Bible says as a man pursues a maiden, so the Lord pursues Israel. Kris, I am suggesting that the passion that you described you felt for your fiancé is the way God feels about you, and all of us. He is passionate and can’t stop thinking about us. He is obsessed with us because of his love.
    Agape, yes; and also romantic.
One problem that I see in this relationship with God is that much of the church has rejected God’s romance, especially because of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Just as a man’s joy for a woman can make her feel uncomfortable, so God‘s passion for us in much of the church makes the church feel uncomfortable. He wants to show us signs and wonders, but that is too passionate for us.
And so the joy is gone
