Another great tutorial! Very easy to understand and follow! Lots more ideas to use up my scraps! And for some reason I always thought I had to punch out the actual page edges. But your method, of punching out a scrap piece and gluing it down to the page edge, makes so much more sense, adds stability AND IS EASIER!! YEA!! Thanks so much for sharing!!

You could use stamps along the edge of the page. I sometimes just stamp a small motif in one corner that’s in keeping with the style of the journal. I did a mermaid one recently and stamped fishes and lighthouses. Great video Carol, you’re fantastic!

Thanks Carol. This was very timely as I am building a journal using some eco dyed pages (not hot dyeing, cold printing like Jibid Neary does) but some of the paper has gone very soft and fragile. So your video gave me some ideas and although I haven't done exactly what you've done, you got me thinking creatively. Thank you. :)

You are just full of surprises! I was just thinking that on the threaded ribbon edge I might put down an extra strip of paper to strengthen the edge before I punched. Tricky one, that, as one would have to get it right on the first go.😬

I love this series. Sometimes it's great to get back to the basics. I have never done a paper ruffle successfully and now I know the secret. The paper back strip. Going to make a few now.
Carol, lovely page ideas, some I have been using for a long time, I love the ribbon one, and am currently making a baby journal and your idea will be perfect for that. I recently completed three “Logger” journals, one of which is about your country’s sisters, the “Lumberjills”. I had a ball making these. I actually used zippers that I separated and use on many of the pages, as well as some lace for the ladies version. The zippers worked out great, I used the sports version but also reinforced the edge to accommodate the slight weight of the zipper. Thinly you for sharing your great ideas. Lovely Ideas! I love to glue a strip of circles or flowers or other small shapes in a line and use them either as bellybands or paper edges :-)
