Worst UX in modern life--CHARGERS!. I organize them and label which one goes to which product, but still can't find the right one half the time.

Yes, good video! Here’s my example of bad ux design: credit card terminals. As with microwave ovens, these terminals’ wide variety of design cause unnecessary confusion. The designers need to get on the same page.

Thanks, glad you liked it! That's true, there are so many bad UX design examples out in the real world that get quite difficult to fix them. But that's a good catch and is definitely a useful skill to have to be able to spot bad design in your day-to-day life!

You're exactly right! There are so many products out there with bad user experience design and when you start noticing them, it can be a step in the right direction if you want to pursue it as a career! We encourage you to look into other products in your day-to-day life and try and see what makes the user experience design bad or good on that particular product.

I just realized that the TH-cam format is very "comfy" to me because it's organized. For example, the videos on the right are "related" videos by subject... A lot of video-service websites are not as visually organized as TH-cam's platform... is that what UX design is?

A question : am I right in assuming that UX Design as a career option taught by Career Foundry is more geared towards the user experience for digital media in general and more specifically to smart phone or tablet users? Or is it also intended for real end product designs such as a push/pull door handles or toasters?

Clearly lots of right handed people designing for right handed world. Kettles which only show how full if holding with your right, ticket machines at train stations with the ticket slots on the right, pin machines at cashpoints on the right hand side. The list goes on for real world examples. Thanks for an interesting video - lots of content to get stuck into. Where does the world of Psychology come into UX? So people can feedback on the behaviour of something but is it then important to look at attitudes and motivations? Is that by designing a feedback loop to ensure you drill down on these further?

Sooo i don't get it... why are there month long courses on this subject and how to design using UX when it seems like it's basically just common sense. Which i know is not so common but couldn't a company just hire someone with a decent head on their shoulder to say this is stupid and this works great. I know a lot of computer program companies could use someone like that.

yes!! the doors design is at fault. people use doors are in a hurry. they dont have time to read the sign that is put like above the door or somewhere. even it is at the door handle, if Im hungry and entering mcD to order my food, do i look like i have time to even read the door sign to pull or push?
