I have the Custom with the gasser & a 6 speed. NO NEED FOR A DIESEL IN 2500, towing is the same for gas & diesel in 2500.. Now the 3500 & Dually with a diesel if you're pulling more than 12,000 lbs often a diesel in 3500 makes more sense. I hauled over 10,000 lbs bumper pull plus dump trailer around 4,000 lbs at sea-level here on Vancouver island with "0" issues and I do it weekly. I just wish they had a bigger seat with lumbar support on long trips for us big-fat boys 6', 4" & 290 lbs ish.

You like you gasser, great but for those of us who tow more and I mean a lot more, the diesel is the way to go. I just wish they could get the numbers closer to Ford. Towing Capacity based on GVWR is different than real world. The gas cannot tow the same as the diesel. Stop reading the numbers because they're not the full story. Thats like saying the 4 Cylinder silverado 1500 can tow more than the 6.2 because the 4Cyl has a higher towing capacity.

Diesel is best...till you go to the gas pump for a fill-up on fuel, then have to fill up the DEF tank and it is as expensive as the diesel fuel. INSANE! I will stick with a 6.2 gas engine for now. Diesel prices are unreasonable, more so than gasoline.
I tow daily in my 24. Have 6k miles on the truck and just filled the def tank for the second time last week. Truck tows avg. 0f 15k daily. Has never been unhooked from a 16k dual axle gooseneck. My 2 DEF fills in 5k miles haven’t exactly broke the bank. When you say no desire to throw money away on fuel costs , that’ doesn’t make much sense. Diesel vs gas is a wash. That’s in a 1 ton dually. So it’s a wash. I was simply commenting on your ( fill the def tank up constantly comment ) because it’s not accurate
