    I was going through some of my old car magazines from the late 80's with features on high-end model cars, some selling for hundreds of pounds then. But they look so poor compared to off the shelf models that have been available for a long time now.
    This is a prime example of the huge choice we have available today.
    Great video by the way MFP.

    great review, man. the music, the frequent switches to scenes from the real movie, the detail closeups, just perfect.

    I actually went to Goldfield, NV and stood at radio station KOW, The building actually exists. My model Challenger is an ERTL and has a few variances also. The seats are the white herringbone inserts and the dash does not the Rally style instrumentation. Otherwise, very happy with it.

    Thanks mate, really appreciate this review. As a Pop Culture Collector for 40 years I've been waiting for a decent version of this movie classic. Definitely buying based on your review. Cheers.

      Cheers man. Glad I could help with your decision. It is a wonderful display piece. I think I should have given it an overall 9 as opposed to 8. It mostly lost points from Greenlights lazyness. The paint was an issue. But it would have been easy to take off the fuel cap and the extra mirror. The decals look like stickers in a few spots and I've seen them do better. If only I was alive and in the States at the time, this would have been my dream car.

      @@MFPMapFilmProductions Note sure why YT deleted my reply *shrugs*. Weird.
      Anyway - Nick's Garage built a 1:1 Replica of the Vanishing Point Challenger here. Enjoy!

      @@james_tiberius_kirk73 Cheers. I have just watched most of these already as I looked up the challenger for research a while back. Such a great car and build. I hope to one day do a similar thing. I am an amature, but I hope to find an old car related to a movie and restore it. Have done some body and mechanical work in the past and want to do it again. One day.

      @@MFPMapFilmProductions No worries at all mate. He's a skilled operator Mr. Nick. Don't put off your dream too long - start getting parts, clean them up as you go and before you know it you'll be driving. I've built a few Aussie classics, Holden HR/EH/HG. A good hobby for sure.

      @@james_tiberius_kirk73 Cheers. It's my circumstances that is holding me back at the moment. One I get my place all sorted, the next step is tracking down the right car. Not easy in Europe.

    Looking at the weathered version, I hoped it would have been more correctly beaten up. All it looks like is someone strapped it to the hood of their car and drove home from work, then boxed it up without cleaning it off.

    • @MFPMapFilmProductions
      @MFPMapFilmProductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I've seen it and it looks like cheap weathering as did the Mad Max car when compared to how Autoart does it. Looks like grey paint lightly sprayed. Better to get the clean version and do it yourself with some time and paitence.

    Great review. Love to see proper door hinges with the inside edge of the door going into the door jamb, pity they didn’t do accurate hinges on the bonnet and boot.
    It’s got the A/C compressor on the engine, not sure if the movie cars had A/C...?

    I have this model still sealed in a box. The only thing with this is, the gas cap is incorrect.
