    Joanie was such a sweetie. She voluntarily gave up her famous #38 to another skater.

    I love that Julie Patrick is in this video. I love watching Ms. Patrick skate, she was such a class act! Brings back such great memories.

    Johnny Johnson I remember, and of course Ralphie Valaderez. But where are Sam Washington, Ronnie Rains, Danny Reilly, etc.?

      Peter Kelly did make a mistake. James Paul wasn't just a new trainee. Been skating for a few seasons already. I wouldn't be messing with John Johnson either no matter if I was a trainee or not. Sadly Charlie O'Connell was never part of this Bomber team. He would had been a better match up against Johnson. Or even Cal Stephens who wasn't present @ this game either

      They'd need to improve to be bad.

    Ed Derian was the worst. If I hear him say "The pack is getting intact now" one more time, I think I'll throw up.

      You forgot "War on Wheels!". LOL. Ed might of had made an excellent Public Address Announcer. Even good @ Boxing matches. Banked track television announcing definitely wasn't his forte!

    Is it just me, or has anyone noticed. These announcers in there "sound proof booth" have the same "Audio Link Technical Difficulties" when they are covering the Warriors in Philadelphia, and that the venue in Phiĺly and the Olympic Auditorium in L.A. have identical "Sound Proof Booths"? That said, still happy to watch each month's newly released video. Had been waiting since the release schedule was posted to see the favorites from each league skate against each other. Never get tired of watching the videos of either organization.

      Ed Darian may had been a much better PA. One dimensional as a television announcer. As for Peter Kelly doing the color commentating I didn't think he was all that bad actually.

    Only one I recognized on the Bomber men's team was James Paul and Larry Smith. Berdette Jackson manhandled by Larry Smith? Jackson used to wreak havoc on the entire T-Bird team. Sorry to see him reduced to him. Weston and Earlene Brown had tangled before, when Brown skated for the Texas Outlaws. Brown is way heavier in this video. Recognized almost everyone on the Bpmbers Women's team! And, of course, who wins this game? That's why I DESPISED Roller Games. So predictable and so staged.

    That's the Bay Bombers? where is Charlie O Connell and Tony Roman? Seems like Roller Derby skaters and the teams themselves changed every few days.

    • @georgegong6813
      @georgegong6813 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This occurred late Summer of 1974 when the San Francisco Bay Bombers were reorganized under new ownership & league, the International Skating Conference. Bill Griffiths went as far as hired many former Bay Bomber Skaters to return in hopes of getting interest back especially in the Roller Derby familiar SF Bay Area. Sadly the experiment didn't work out as well as Griffiths had thought as it's obviously a different style of game...as in more Roller Games then Derby, I was told Charlie O'Connell was invited to return & acknowledged that he would though I never saw him nor was he mentioned as part of the new revised roster of men's players.

      @@georgegong6813 Charlie did skate with the T-Birds for a short while as did Tony Roman, Ronnie Robinson, and Joan Weston. The idea was to take the T-Bird greats and put them with Bomber and Pioneer greats to create a super team. Why? Only the entertainment saturated mind of Bill Griffiths knew. Charlie had hung 'em up by the time the Bombers were skating again. They were back to being a white shirt team with Cliff, Delores, Annis Jensen-Baker, and some of the others while this group was the red shirt squad. I have photos of both found on the Google.

      @@loudenkliehr3633 Yes was very aware of this bit of banked track history. I asked Cliff Butler too when the Bombers were reorganized later that year whether Charlie O'Connell was offered a opportunity to return to that team again. Accepted the offer though never appeared or returned with that team. I meant to say Charlie never returned to the Bombers. Yes saw Charlie, Ronnie, Tony, & even Joanie on the Thunderbirds.
