Offside traps are useful if your defence has high Defensive awareness and engagement. Such players are able assess the play and quickly make a decision to move up and play the player making the run offside. At least it has helped me repeatedly.

Perfect video bro, best analysis, idk why konami changed gameplay so much, the defending has gotten so terrible, it's like dls fr, nowadays you have to score many to win, you'd never find scores like 4-3 in pes 2021, unless it was a really exciting game, here every kickoff is a goal, 4-3 first half then it gets better second half, on console efootball gameplay still better especially defending, idk they did this on mobile
There is one BIG problem!
Whenever I called my defenders to chase the opponents by pressing the pressure button, there was a high chance that my defenders will suddenly come to a standstill and stop chasing completely, and this always caused conceding goals directly. This had also happened in pes2021 but the situation is much worse in this 2022 update! Can anyone please help to give some advices on how to address this problem?

Yes that is when u slide the pressure button to the left or right. Player who was pressing will go into matchup mode and u hv to control the player using joystick manually

And one more wait till the next player mark cursor to change to nearest player of oppo and use switch players cause some times oppo's quick tiki taka pass will spoil cursor so can wait untill the ai will defend well aswell so patience in defence is also an key imo

One bad thing i felt in efootball is, after calling 2nd defender assistance, I change the cursor/release press button from the defender but the 2nd defender still chase the opponents.I pes 21 ,it was not there. In pes 21 with releasing / changing cursor both the main defender and 2nd defender stops but in efootball main defender stops but 2nd defender still get away from position 🥲

I hv some very good defending tips for those who cannot use match up properly. I would prefer to have a 3cb formation with 2 attacking cb and the central centre back to defend. By attacking cb i mean those who pressure aggressively. So if opponent starts a counter. U hv to manual control central defender and take him back area near penalty box. The other 2 side centre backs will run and pressure. So if the two side cbs cant take ball of striker. Use central cb who is near box and pressure. He will dash forward, hard tackle and take ball of striker. Sometimes they start attack from wing. So then u hv to manual control wing back and use match up and run with opponent winger. Mostly they give crosses and so u hv better chance to intercept. Then 3rd is try to use high physical contact attackers and pressure with them. Take them as far back to defense as you can without making defender out of position. With me when i press using attacker and take him to defense area.my cbs and wing backs stay back and try to defend. So far i hv lost only 1 match and that was when i created a new account and had no good players. Now i have all players 85+. And i hv not lost a match yet but drawn 3-5 matches. My strategy is not a 100% gurantee of a clean sheet but it helps to reduce goals scored by opponent. And using this strategy opponents who like to score from within box will find it very hard to score. I've conceded quite some goals but they all have been from outside the box or set pieces and very few of them from inside the box. And out wide is best for defense and attack as it prevents wingplay as well allows counter and wingplay

Noob listen, it's only there because it exists in real life, but in this game it won't help, defenders will hold a high line, opponent thru ball fast cf and your cb will remain still and he will get easy 1 on 1

How to intercept the opponent passes?
1. By applying pressure but only apply it when ball is in midfield don't apply pressure when its not in midfield except you have defenders near you.
2. By tapping 2 times on left side (joystick) that is shoulder charge, your player will push the other player.
3. And for interscepting opponent passes you need to do ' match up ' match up means holding the joystick and dash button at the same time, and for more precise interscepting, predict the opponent's next passes and try to keep your players between their passes accordingly ✌️

I play with Touch and Flick and I feel like we don't get the same features as those who plays with Classic and it's annoying.
Some say the defence is trash in efootball 22, but i think it's more realistic now. In pes 21 we only had to focus on attacking, the defence was very easy. But in efootball 22, we have to focus both on attacking as well as defending. We have more work to do this time. I like this realistic approach from konami.
