In 1971 did not only Apollo 14 land on the moon, but it was also the birthyear of Torsten Stenzel, half of the Outlanders.
1971 is Torsten’s composition. He had written the song some time ago and we decided it to add my voice and give to it the Outlanders treatment.
I thought it was a good idea to check what truly happened in the world on the day Torsten was born. I found an old cover of Argentinean Clarin newspaper and read the headlines of the day.
The Queen of the Sea and spring celebrations gave me the inspiration for the text of the song. This is another song where I am using my voice more like an instrument and Walter Giardino is colouring the song with his incredible guitar performance.
1971 was overall a pretty dark year with a raging Vietnam War and the song has an intentional darker undertone that gets carried from Walter’s spacy guitars too. We also added some Moog Synth baselines that gives a certain depth.
1971 comes in waves like the Ocean.
CREATION OF THE VISUALIZER
In 1971 visualizer we visit famous English Harbour in Antigua. Especially you see me strolling next to the houses in cultural heritage site of Nelson’s Dockyard. Every year the Sailing Week and Charter Yacht meetings are happening here. It’s a place worth to visit to learn some history of the island and enjoy a beautiful hike to Shirley Heights, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
LYRICS
From her throne decorated with spiritual motifs,
the queen of the sea greeted the enthusiastic crowd,
which she met to welcome the season of flowers.
The parade that included a dozen carriages
was part of a warm and bright celebration
that happened in that evening in 1971.

Cannot wait for yet another dreamy Outlanders visualizer😍😍😍🎶🎶🎶 Tarja looks gorgeous 💗🎶🇫🇮
Congratulations, Tarja. With your music, hard work and talent, you have long surpassed that other band that lives only on its former glory. Your music keeps getting better and better, you keep surprising me. Outlanders lets your voice shine. I'm glad you started the project and I hope you just keep going. It's one of the best albums I've heard in the last year. Never let anyone or anything tie you down. Live long, queen.
Walter's playing is really amazing here. Thank you. 😊
Tarja ❤The Queen of melodies❤
Both the visual and the song completely captivated me because I'm playing it for the third time now and I can't stop enjoying it! ❤

Such a beautiful visualizer just like all the others. ❤ Tarja is stunning. ❤ The music is mesmerizing. ❤ Outlanders is amazing and I hope people will find its music. ❤
Has been on my turntable for day's now and not going anywhere !!!!! ☮☮💘💘
When I see this visualizer, I want to throw my computer out of the window and go to the sea too - unfortunately, we don't have the sea here :-D .
This song feels low key on the album, but it's slowly growing on me. I really love the dark undertone of this track, it has a heavy yet beautiful feel to it The guitars are of course excellent and Tarja is charming as always.
The album as a whole feels wonderfully relaxing and often ethereal to me and I love it. Outlanders is an amazing project. There isn't a track on the entire album that I don't like or want to skip.
As the songs came out, it was changing which one was my favorite. Among my favorites, however, is The Cruellest Goodbye, where I don't know what to call it, but I really like how her voice slowly drops lower and lower in some parts. Then it's the song A Peaceful Place, where I really like the beats and rhythm. And finally a cover of We Own This Sky from the movie Chappie. I already liked the original version immediately when I heard the OST by Hans Zimmer for the first time, and when Tarja released it as her cover, it became my favorite as well. I really like how her voice and guitars took the song in a different direction. The original song is like flying speedily through the clouds into an unknown universe, the version from Outlanders is like watching the summer sky over the sea, it is more optimistic. I love both versions.
But at the moment I like the opening song Outlanders the most, that was a surprise for me. When I got my CD, I played the song several times in a row, her voice came out beautifully and the whole song has a mysterious effect on me.
I am very much looking forward to continuing this project. What I love about Tarja is that she doesn't let herself be pigeonholed into one category. I never know what she'll come up with next.
Love hearing TARJA just speak, a exotic magical dream and oh that guitar !!!!!!! ☮☮💘💘
Yeah I like it a lot, I love it. This album is an experience indeed.

Dear "earMUSIC"... There's a few new things out in the world you might want to take advantage of. They're called "Quote Marks", and "Giving Credit"... Thanks for sharing the song though...even if you're *not* singing on it.
earMUSIC is the record label that is releasing Outlanders and Tarja's music. earMUSIC paid for all these Outlanders visualizers so of course they are the one releasing and sharing it.
