I was at the MCG for the World Cup Final in 2015 v NZ and I remember Michael Clarke was copping criticism about his position in the line up. Comes out and scores 74 off 72 to guide Australia home for the win. Such a composed knock to get it done. 🙌

Why does DRS have to 100 percent right? No machine, AI, Tech is gonna be 100 per cent right. You will need human intervention. Hence as an Indian and a cricket fan, I still feel it was the right decision because common sense was used and technology was not blindly followed. Technology is there to assist the umpires and not take away their job. The third umpire role was created for that. So that he can use slow motion, snicko, hot spoty blah blah and then use his brains to make his decisions. All this to avoid howlers like what happened with Steve Bucknor and India a few years ago in Australia. I never want that to happen to any team. Just make rules clear so that umpires know they have to use their brains more and select competent umpires. So that when ball is missing bat, but bat hits pad or ground at the same time, and you get spike on snicko. Then Umpire doesn't blindly follow tech, But uses the visual evidence as conclusive. Snicko is not going to pick up a faint brush against the glove. But you will be able to SEE IT. It was meant for harder sounds. Thats why it needs other tech to support it. LIke Hotspot. But still. KEEP EVERYTHING PLEASE !! NO STEVE BUCKNOR !!

Michael, I am an Indian and a huge cricket fan, and agree with you that Virat is not nasty. But tell me how many would dare to do (what Virat did) to Sir Viv or Malcolm Marshall. Even if a batsman were to play crazy shots at Malcolm, Sir Viv would not shoulder someone. Malcolm would take care of that. Bumrah is not in the same class as Malcolm nor is Virat in the same class as Viv. In my opinion, Virat crossed the line. If you want to pick up a fight pick up with equals and not with 19-year-old kids.

What continues to amaze me - I only lived in Australia for a year and a half in Sydney in 2001-02 - is the blend of competition and respect in cricket. There's being both a fan and a dispassionate analysis. And in cricket it seems like both sides switch to the analysis mode and try and see the strengths and weaknesses of both teams. Like Michael's analysis of technology, there isn't always a clear solution. But the way the thought process is carried out matters as a matter of civility. Especially in the context of an activity we all love.

The third umpire sees using slow motion which is a part of using the technology that the on field umpire did not so. Please see what Simon Toefl said about the decision. You want the technology to be 100% correct. There is no system in the world that is 100% correct. I was wondering if you had a chance to hear what Simin Toefl said. BTW, I love your analysis.

    11:55 "like Sam" 😒
just one match And Trying to express that "sam better than Jaiswal"
He has not yet proved himself at international level...
Has same level of wicket pattern from u19 till now not yet improved....
    Jaiswal made so much improvement.
Sam talks too much thats all and nothing... Innocent child in front of aussie media
    Waiting for 5th test...

lol 😂 well that child got under the Indians skin and Kholi who is an adult used aggression to deal with it which you should never do. Kholi should be ashamed
Konstas showed the Australian players how to take the players on and he basically set the tone for the match

I think Sam lifted the opening batters as well. Uzi was moving along well and then stalled once Sam got out. The top 4 getting 50 or better, has been a while since we seen that.

Konstas seems like a real brat. A few more bad innings and he will be back to earth

I headed out with Cummins to tour his farm, and he started introducing me to some of the livestock, mentioning how he had named them after his players, as the unhinged animals they were. Just then, I was hit by an unbearable stench. With my eyes watering uncontrollably, I questioned through gritted teeth, “What in the hell is that smell?” He looked over knowingly and said: “Ah. Steve Smith? The goat is never washed.”

Although final result says Aussie ms won by 180+ runs the match was much closer. I honestly feel India were about to launch after tea and the first attempt at that got pant out.

Clarke’s approach is extremely diplomatic and passive about his home country’s team . The opposition was so pissed that they came to basically push your little new born Konstas around . And don’t get me wrong I love konstas but you’re gonna sit here and down play it “ it was just virat taking revenge for disrespecting “ so what if he pushed … and on top of that you’re gonna sit on a social media platform and give bumrah advise on how to get your best batsman Travis head out ??? Please choose a side becz. your podcast had me doubting your loyalty for a second
