Our last video of 2022 for our wet shaves around the world series! Akin Barber & Shop has been open since 2015 and is on a mission to help people look and feel their best.
The Akin Straight Razor Shave begins with the preparation of the skin and ends with a post-shave Cedarwood, Ylang Ylang and Ho Wood scented balm to soothe the skin and provide a refreshing finish.
Akin Barber & Shop believes people deserve a great service. It was awesome to have Ghaz, Managing Partner of Akin, look after us for filming.
Ghaz was born and raised in Damascus, Syria, where he became fascinated with barbering at an early age from watching his barber cut and style his hair. He decided to learn more about the craft of barbering and trained in Turkey before moving to Dubai in 2008.
He has been barbering for over 18+ years and feels that learning is an endless journey. He aims to focus on the customer experience and wants all his clients to feel they belong.
Ghaz believes a positive attitude and consistency “will have a positive impact on my relationship with my clients.”
His life advice, “Do what you love. Life is short, so do what you love to do!”

If you turn up the volume it’s actually the rustle of an oscillating fan hitting the microphone of the side on Harry’s head rest. You can see his covering moving with the wind.

You need to add a thunderstorm into every video, it really adds to the relaxation.
Harry always looks like he goes into a deep sleep during the shave. Who can blame him, that massage looked SO relaxing!

Really nice way to close the pores, minimize razor burn, perventing skin redness, and gives a revitalizing sensation that wakes your sense and mind! What a good video as usual Harry, love the shave part and after shave part!

@@DonPandemoniac oh hell yeah, you know I always looking for the after shaving part from all Harry's shaves videos. I think that's the best parr of the shaving process, the gently massage with aftershave lotion is so heavenly good!
A cold towel feels good, but the best way to do all the things you mentioned above is by far and away an Alum block, absolutely no comparison!... I would still get razor burn no matter if I used a Cold towel to "close my pores" or not after a brilliant shave. Didn't do much.
But, once I started using the Alum, it was a game changer. There are those who use an Alum Block, and those who have yet to discover it's antiseptic/ soothing properties... it works wonders on my neck. It's also meant to be used with cold water to help it glide on your face after a close shave. And yes it does Sting slightly as it should.

Not sure if the storm sounds were real or recorded for an ASMR experience but a very well done shave and the thunder sounds helped to relax. If Im ever blessed to be in Dubai, Ill be looking to stop by this gentleman's place for a shave. Very well done.

Video idea. I've noticed on videos the " most viewed" portion of most videos are the hair styling and product application after a haircut or shave. That's my personal favorite part by far. I'd love a compilation of the best stylings. My personal favorites- Luna's, Azores (1&2), Lyle's, Nite Owl, and Bobbi.

I do like that question Ghaz asked in the beginning. I see some people using phones while getting a haircut, but with a shave, you pretty much temporarily disconnect from electronic distractions and you're just left to relax.

The razor technique of wiping the cream on his palm is one I've seen Turkish barbers use. The shop is certainly neat and tidy.

I like the shaves where they give the hot towel... apply the cream.. then give another hot towel.. then re apply cream.. then shave..

I love watching these videos, it calms my anxiety at night. Does anyone know roughly what this would cost in the US? It’s a shame, I don’t feel like we have enough barbers/straight razor shops in the US with people who are true masters of their craft anymore.
