In general, you are correct, western culture doesn't care too much, but in professional careers, titles and ranks still matter. I don't know anything about the CEO of Vshojo, just because I am a fan of Hololive, I have no idea what the CEO is doing running his company, he almost never makes a presence in the public or gives video messages to Vshojo vtubers, just like Yagoo does. Yagoo is present in the public at important events, and they even send videos congratulating the talents on their birthdays, anniversaries, or some achievement they have made.
Gunrun is pretty camera shy but he is always at cons and events helping out with tech related issues mostly. Just recently he was at offkai helping with the robots they use to allow their members to walk around the con. It is also not uncommon to find him watching member's streams and chatting here and there.
From what I hear, when Kuro had financial issues namely tax problems, Ironmouse and Gunrun helped him out big time which was a leading factor which led to him joining Vshojo when he had intentions of being an indie. He was even willing to help Michi in her intro lore video with a few voice lines. I guess he is more active behind the scenes.
Gunrun can be visible when he needs be. Like accepting Ironmouse award in person with her ipad robot and being at cons. And his portrait and voice was in the Michi hype videos.
I guess nothing can beat cover corp's professionalism But if you know Gunrun. He's pretty awesome and chill. I remember he did irl stream with Nyanners and Aethel last year, and has been spotted having fun with vshojo at offkai recently.
He actually does show up in vshojo member's stream chats quite often. He seems pretty chill though and most of the members I've watched have only had good things to say about him. Granted I haven't talked to the people who've left vshojo so I don't know if there is another side I'm just unaware of. But on the surface he seems like a decent boss. Not unlike Yagoo.
