    I called the consulate in San Diego, got an appointment within a week, purchased an updated birth certificate the same day ($15) and received my passport within an hour with the proper identification. The staff were extremely helpful, and accommodating. They were all bilingual and beyond helpful.

      Did you call to make an appointment with the San Diego consulate because it was easier then trying to set up an appointment via the website? I have been trying to follow the steps seen on the video and the results aren't even close and are frustrating. My web pages look nothing like the once shown in the video.

    So I already Have my dual citizenship I was lucky my dad and mom did it for me when I was 13, but my question after that is what was needed for you to move down there? I've been thinking a ton of moving back to Mexico, My parents are From Juarez, but Im avoiding that place LOL. I know I will no longer have my truck, which is sad but a Black Chevy Silverado thats Lifted isnt a good Look in some parts of Mexico, how was buying or renting an apartment like?

    • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Once you have dual citizenship you need your mexican passport and that is about it. You need your mexican passport in order to enter the country without any restrictions. From there depending what you want to do in terms of work, that we are still learning. Renting an apartment varies from state to state. It all depends where you'd like to go. In Yucatan they run ask for first and last months rent, a 3-6 month deposit and background check. Other places you can just call people directly and negotiate with them. and the most expensive option is airbnb but its also the easiest way to dip your feet in the water.

Since the Mexican birth certificate I will receive will show both my dad and moms last name, but in the USA (on my passport and license) I only have my dads last name as is customary here, will they still be able to process the passport application? • @EatBailaTravel
      @EatBailaTravel  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes they’ll still be able to do it, no worries. They recognize the customs in the US birth certificates and take that into account during the process. Using your parents’ birth certificates, they’ll know which last names to put on your Mexican documents

Just go to this website www.sat.gob.mx/tramites/28753/obten-tu-rfc-con-la-clave-unica-de-registro-de-poblacion-curp then go to Tramites del RFC which is right in the top middle of the page. From there just pick Obten tu RFC con la clave de registro. You just need to enter your curp and a permanent address in the country. Once you do all that you get an RFC immediately. It'll be just like your curp but with less digits and it end with a different set of numbers.

      the law changed in May 2021 (after this video was posted) and generational limits were removed from being able to get citizenship through heritage. It doesn't look like requirements have changed so I believe you'll simply need your grandparents' documents (in addition to your parents to trace the lineage all the way to you, of course) so their birth certificate and ID's. And the Mexican Consulate should be able to issue you their birth certificates (bring your parent's birth certificate when asking for your grandparents') but I'm not sure if that's a quick transaction or not so I would try to make an appointment for that

      No that should not be a problem as long as their first and last names match their first name and first last name from mexico.

      If It doesn’t give an option for registro civil that means that there aren’t any appointments for the registró wherever you’re trying to make the appointment. Our recommendation is that you check daily, even twice a day, to see if appointments open up or call daily for a week until you can get an appointment.
      Appointments open up randomly and and at any given time.

    Did you have to get an apostille for your birth certificate? I went through this process 20 years ago and failed $500 into it because Vicente Fox and George Bush were having a feud and Fox Closed citizenship to foreign born nationals. $500 went into translating my documents and getting apostilles. I was left so jaded because I was really young and $500 was a fortune to me. It sounds like maybe it was a scam. I’m going to try again and hope for the best this time! Thanks so much for these videos. I made an appointment! I’m not sure what I have will be accepted but it’s ok because at least I know it won’t cost much and I will know exactly what I need.
