I used to have two cats, and in my experience unless you want to go the microchip feeder route (fun, honestly, but expensive!) you need to retrain them to eat in two meal times. Most cats are natural grazers and that sounds like Kiki too - they will snack all day long if allowed. However, they can learn that if the food is not consumed in a certain amount of time it will be taken away. It feels super mean at first, because basically you remove any uneaten food after they finish in the morning and then even if they are hungry you don't give them any more until the evening meal, but they soon learn to eat their whole meal in the morning and again in the evening because it will be removed if it's not finished, to prevent the bigger cat eating what the smaller cat leaves. Then you can work on figuring out the amounts better. I had to do this with my two cats once I got a dog who would happily eat any leftover food, and they did figure it out after a few days. Microchip feeders are pretty great if you don't mind the investment and want to allow Kiki to continue to graze as she prefers though!
K NZ : I’m sorry, but I don’t aggree in teaching cats to eat all their food at once, as it doesn’t aggree with their digestion. Their guts are short and made for catching 7 to 10 small preys a day. You will have to feed them more small meals a day, if they must loose wait. For the night, they need some more food so they can snack more times during the night.
We feed every 4 hours to counter stomach problems. One of our cats can't handle long waits (pukes bile) and if they eat too much at once, it also comes back up. It's more of a hassle, but really, just twice a day seems a bit cruel to me. At least ease into it and do a couple of extra feedings during the day. Portions small accordingly.
@@ejensen1050 It's not all at once, you still feed two meals a day. Also, you're completely wrong - carnivore digestive tracts are designed to have periods with no food then a large meal, as would occur when they hunt. Cats naturally spend 20 or more hours inactive during the day and may eat only once in a 24 hour period depending on the prey they catch. Where did you get the idea that cats need to snack? This is completely contrary to how a carnivore evolved to hunt; if it was true, a cat would have to be hunting all the time, every couple of hours, and would be in gastric distress every time it failed to catch something. It's herbivores that actually need lots of small meals, as their digestive tracts are designed to always have very fibrous foods moving through them at all times.
@@Napukettu That's an individual behaviour they have learned (to scoff food too fast, some dogs do this too and bowls have been designed to counteract it) and nothing to do with how their digestive tracts are actually designed to work. You are anthropomorphizing cats by thinking it's "cruel" to feed twice a day, it's far closer to natural than having food available all the time or very frequently. Why would it be okay to feed dogs twice (or in a lot of cases once) a day, but cats for some reason have to have constant access to food? If anything, cats are more carnivorous than dogs. I suggest you look up carnivore (especially felidae) behaviour and digestion. You can do what you want for your own cats but your emotional reaction to feeding less frequently is coming from a very human judgement of what a cat might like, not what a cat is actually evolved to do.
I came here to suggest this too. My sisters cat is a picky eater and the other is a chonk so it got out of control. Now when I see the cats I have a hard time telling them apart. The microchip feeders have really worked for balancing out their weight. Plus diet food for a while for the fat one.
My Chonka learnt to put his head in our girls feeder before it closes and keeps his head there so it gives up trying to close so he gets his diet food and their left overs.
Baylee, there are microchip activated cat feeders. You program it to only open for a specific cat and they can't eat each others food. That would allow Keke to eat how she needs to without letting Midna eat it all. People also do this when their cats are on different kinds of food. From the vids i've seen, the cats catch on quite quickly.
Are your cats microchipped. There are feeders you can get and program them to their microchip. So kikis food would only open for her. If they can get use to using them it may fix your problem.
For anyone reading this who doesn't have microchipped pets, the feeders usually also come with RFID tags that you can hang from their collars. But also, pls microchip your pets.
I got my package yesterday and I love it! The free badge you put in just happened to be my favorite character from my favorite anime! that was a great surprise!
As a kid I had the packing material in colours. (Playmais) You can build castles and other things with it by sticking them together (make them wet) You should keep the material and try to make art with it. I would defenitly love to watch it.
Wow. I'm watching your vlog channel for almost four years now and I JUST NOW realised that you have freckles. That's so cute, I love freckles ❤️💖 (I also have them) and they do suit you very well

Aw that's the one thing about multicats... I had one food-obsessed cat and one medicated cat and keeping their meals safe was a huge source of stress. The sick cat's medicine had hunger-suppressant side effects, so he got thinner and thinner... Our other cat was miserable b/c we were watching and yelling all of the time. I was miserable b/c it took several hours a day to monitor feedings which meant we couldn't go anywhere overnight for 8 years until we were left with one cat. It's less entertaining with one cat, but at least it's peaceful. But yeah, that's pretty much our approach: we fed our cats five feet away from our hangout spot and kept one eye and a spray bottle on them.
My dogs are the same! We put them on a diet (we changed their food to be higher quality and healthier) and give them small amounts in the morning and evening. But one of my pups doesn't eat much food at first when you are around so we walk away and then my other dog will jump in and eat both their plates!!! She's not even that big of a dog but she is being such a chonk! (I also very much recommend to anyone who has dogs to check out supplementing some of the regular dry food for the fresh wet food. We have noticed a big change in our pups energy, playfulness, and coat).
My husband and I have two cats. Our older cat, Ashes, does the same thing as Midna with we food. She licks up the gravy and then eats a few chunks. Our younger cat, Dust, always eats all her wet food. She’ll then try to eat Ashes’ wet food, as well. I just let her, though I do worry about them gaining weight, especially Dust. We did take them to the vet recently, though, and the vet didn’t seem to be concerned about their weight, just said they were a bit bigger in general. We also keep their wet food out for them to eat all day, as well. We just don’t have time to feed them on a schedule.
I had a very large kitty for about 10 years and what we did was have a box with a hole only big enough for the smaller kitties to go through and put their food in. Then having the larger kitty food out of the box. For a while the small cat food was under a bench, but once we took that out we made a box in the corner of the kitchen. Good luck!
We are also changing our cat feeding routine. We give them their wet food in the morning and then we take it away when they stop eating. We give it back to them in the afternoon. And in the evening they get some dry food.
I have that issue with my cats. We switched the wet food to a pate. Jack gets his served in a ball shape so he can eat it at once, while chubby Molly gets hers packed to the plate to slow her eating and it gives Jack a chance to eat quicker. They only get about 1.5- 2 tabelspoons for wet food for dinner and 1/4 cup of dry food for breakfast. & I spread it 12 hours apart. 10am and 10pm for the most part.
My parents have a cat that is overweight. We took her to the vet and the vet told us that wet food is KFC for cats. We also got the microchip bowls but the biggest change has been removing wetfood from her diet and using it as a treat only basis. Now that I moved out and got my own cats I follow the same rules. My 3 year gets wet food once every week or so and my 9month old gets it everytime she has been good. So like twice a week. (Still in training) Since she burns more energy.
The problem with keeping it mostly dry food is that you might end up with urinary tract issues since you're now restricting the cat's fluid intake. They could just drink more water but so many cats just don't. There are differing qualities of wet food, just as there is dry food (and cats!), I'm really surprised your vet would say that tbh.
Irk if you guys have this in canada but there are these mini chocolate liquor bottles you can get it with rum and its literally chocolate with a liquor in the center lol party party!
To solve the stuff sliding around in the boxes, what about turning a square of tissue paper diagonally and folding it like an envelope and taping it? Idk if that made any sense to you lol. Just another thought
I have the same cat-situation as you. One is 7 kilogram and the other 3 kilogram. After 12 years this hasn't change and I stopped worrying a long time ago. They both get the food they need, what means that one gets more than the other. No need for expensive feeding bowls with microchips if you ask me.
Options for the cats: the microchip pet feeders, as others have all said. Or, you just gotta teach the cats that there is 2 meal times in the day. You put the food down in the morning, and when they walk away you take the food away until their evening meal. And repeat in the evening - take it away once they walk away, and do not feed again until their morning feed. They'll pick up very quickly that they can no longer graze feed.
Oh my, good luck with that diet. Maybe try to make Midna exercise more, how about an exercise wheel. We had all sorts of cats and I'm starting to wonder if the black just like to be the sleek, skinny ones. We never had an overweight black cat.
It’s generally recommended that you leave the food down for a set amount of time and take away what they haven’t finished after that. If they’re still eating it then they’re still hungry, but they need to learn that they eat at certain times and then food isn’t available to them again until this time. It’s like, you know with yourself that if you eat 2 hours before dinner you won’t eat all your dinner, it’s the same. Once they stop returning to their food when they just wanna eat for the sake of it, they will start eating as much as they need to at meal times
I've found just putting the plate with cat food left on in the fridge or covering it up until a cat asks for the food or is looking for food. You don't need fancy feeders you just have to be strict even though it sucks.
Hubs fail because of power concerns (usually) if your hub has a power adapter you need to make sure you have it powered up! It looks like you are using the computer to power the hub, not a lot of throughput that way. Good Luck with your stream!
We feed our cats approx. every 4 hours except during the night. Check the recommended amount on the packaging and divide that across the meals. Smaller amounts and less to eat per meal. The cat should be a little hungry when mealtime comes around so they will eat their portion no problem. We do not leave any food out and make sure each cat only eats their own portions. I used to have an obese cat and I will never ever make that mistake again. It was heart breaking when she started having joint problems. :(
And yes, it's more of a hassle to do, but that's just how life is when you have cats that have different appetites. Can't be helped. Added tip, look up hill's prescription diet, they make food that activates the metabolism. It's a bit pricey, but that's what helped my overweight cat finally lose weight. It was the first time in her life since being a kitten that she got back to normal weight. She ate only that for I think half a year to a year (the recommended amount for her weight, I regularly checked). It was amazing to see her regain some of her mobility. But yeah, it was a rough experience. I would never leave food out for pets again because some of them just can't self-regulate and it's just so heart breaking to see them lose interest in stuff because they're overweight and it's difficult to move. :'(
Most cats are what they call trickle feeders. Our cat is a trickle feeder, he will get a few bites of food walk away for a while, go back eat a few bites, and then go away for a while. So sounds like Kiki is a trickle feeder, they usually tend to be at a more healthy weight. It is always hard when you have both.
Had to pause for just a sec, to tell you that when my package came, the tissue paper was torn and mangled- probably from shifting around during shipment. It wasn't a big deal, but for aesthetics, it's probably best to go with the bags!
I just had a cat pass away who used to each all the food and my younger cat didn't eat a ton so now there is so much cat food at my house that the skinny cat won't eat
There are bowls I've seen that open and close to microchips or you can buy a collar tag if your cats aren't microchipped I saw solid gold aquatics review them for her cats SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder - The Automatic Pet Feeder That Makes Meal Times Stress Free www.amazon.ca/dp/B00O0UIPTY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_fAuNDbY94D2R8
I get your catfood troubles haha. One of our cats will eat until he throws up (and then eat some more) if we let him. He also eats REALLY fast. If we fed them in the same room, the fat one would totally eat the other's food. So, we lock the fat one in one room until the other has finished his food. We also can't leave any food out, because the fat one will eat it as fast as he can haha. We feed them the same amount of food, but the fat one is so obsessed with food that he will find a way to steal food from somewhere if we're not careful. So yeah, he's still fatter than the other one !!
I had the freaking USPS outright lie and say “delivery location inaccessible” the other day because they were too lazy to bring my package up to my 3rd floor walk-up apartment and the leasing office was closed because they got here so late. They were supposed to bring it the next day and they didn’t, so I got it TWO days late because they refused to just bring my package directly to me, which is what they SHOULD do anyway. I’m so sick of lazy people. :(
Straight up got my cats a puzzle feeder and fat cat dropped 3 pounds Fat cat was too lazy to get the food out and the small cat has fun getting the food out (I got a small dog puzzle feeder from Amazon)
Trust me when I say it's not way easier when you have two skinny cats. Trying to find food designed to fatten them up is hard and our cats have always lived with free access to food at all hours as well as some wet food. Like Marmite at least always used to be lean, so it's just because he's getting old he's lost that muscle, but Lie has always been really skinny and she's really picky with food. She likes things like chips, pancakes, cheese and fake meat way more than actual stuff.
@@BumbleBaylee Ahaha. Fair enough. Like, they thankfully aren't too bad and they do look healthy and happy enough but Lie's the hard one. It's like please, girlie, put on some weight. It doesn't help that she's always been fairly small generally. It's been generations of our cats teaching the new cats to not eat all the food that's out incase we're away for a tiny bit longer than planned.
For the bebes, my friends used to have an overweight and an underweight cat. Their solution was to make a box with a narrow slit that the smaller cat could squeeze through no problem but the larger cat could not. Worked really well. Even made a "Keep out Sofie" sign, I think that helped extra.

At the rescue I work at we generally feed around 90g per cat of dry food split into two meals a day and then a wet sachet in the evening
For each cat??
Right now they share an 85g pouch of wet food in the morning, then they each get 1/4 cup of dry food in the evening (about 33g).

I've found just putting the plate with cat food left on in the fridge or covering it up until a cat asks for the food or is looking for food.
You don't need fancy feeders you just have to be strict even though it sucks.
All I heard was “washi tape” lol 😆 and I got excited
Hubs fail because of power concerns (usually) if your hub has a power adapter you need to make sure you have it powered up! It looks like you are using the computer to power the hub, not a lot of throughput that way. Good Luck with your stream!
The hub has its own power cable that plugs into the wall, so it should have enough power.
@@BumbleBaylee Yes it should, sorry that was not the correct solution, you might try the order they are plugged in but that is a long shot! Good Luck!
I just watched one quarter of this vid in 0.75x speed. Sigh.
R u a once?!!!!!
@@Vvvvvvv3 yep
Yay I am too!! Sorry I got really excited when I saw your Jihyo profile picture!
@@Vvvvvvv3 haha its ok. Once fighting!
Good to know! I'm glad I bought the bags then!
I’m here early and I see cats! It’s a good day
Hi
Cute 💕 will do gaming channel? 😍💕 I WILL BE YOUR NR1 FAN AND WHERE DO YOU DO YOUR SREAMS?
Princess Oliii She streams on Twitch :)
Millie Sadiq Thx u for help 💕
What company makes your enamel pins I'm looking for a company that makes enamel pins so I can make some for my husband's TH-cam channel
I just had a cat pass away who used to each all the food and my younger cat didn't eat a ton so now there is so much cat food at my house that the skinny cat won't eat
They’re here for a good time not a long time, let them kitties eat! Lol
I would love washi tape, and with the timing my stash will probably have run out about the same time you get some! XD
I kept thinking of Neapolitan ice cream while watching this video.... I feel bad for seeing it like that too.... :(
🖤
You should dress up as Redd!
Heres alittle bit of a tip for ya. Yours cats stoamche are no bigger then a teaspoon.
Please, please, please do washi tape!
More Midna...not less....
Could be that fairy that is a pirate, idk her name.
I got my pins
There are bowls I've seen that open and close to microchips or you can buy a collar tag if your cats aren't microchipped I saw solid gold aquatics review them for her cats

Love u 💛💜 you dont have an act your real and your gorge
I get your catfood troubles haha. One of our cats will eat until he throws up (and then eat some more) if we let him. He also eats REALLY fast. If we fed them in the same room, the fat one would totally eat the other's food. So, we lock the fat one in one room until the other has finished his food. We also can't leave any food out, because the fat one will eat it as fast as he can haha. We feed them the same amount of food, but the fat one is so obsessed with food that he will find a way to steal food from somewhere if we're not careful. So yeah, he's still fatter than the other one !!
watering down the wet cat food can help so she's still getting full but it'll be less calories for the cutie
Straight up got my cats a puzzle feeder and fat cat dropped 3 pounds
Fat cat was too lazy to get the food out and the small cat has fun getting the food out
(I got a small dog puzzle feeder from Amazon)
The one dislike is Midna anti diet
Yeet 💕💕
Trust me when I say it's not way easier when you have two skinny cats. Trying to find food designed to fatten them up is hard and our cats have always lived with free access to food at all hours as well as some wet food. Like Marmite at least always used to be lean, so it's just because he's getting old he's lost that muscle, but Lie has always been really skinny and she's really picky with food. She likes things like chips, pancakes, cheese and fake meat way more than actual stuff.
I mean a healthy skinny, haha. Too skinny would be tough too!
Baylee: ordering some cute pink with gold heart bags for next launch
Also Baylee (in the future); NO! I want Christmas themed packaging
I tell you this is gone happen 😂😘
