Another way that I learnt to drive in the fog is to open the app waze or google map. You need to set the location even though you know the location. The reason is the app helps you to know the layout of the road and the corner ahead of you. This method really helps me to drive confidence and faster in the fog. But still you need to take some precaution and not drive too fast.
owned a Picanto EX since Sept 2018, and never once I regretted my choice choosing it over iriz or myvi. whenever people see my car their first reaction is "why not buy axia, myvi, iriz?" but once they have a go in my car they have their answer straight away. The Power to Surprise is true in this car. However I must say if I wanted more space or power I would've got the Iriz, just hope they replace the CVT with the same 4 speed here btw the 16 inch wheel in the GT line shown here is a bit overkill and more taxing to the engine. the 14 inch is fine. but if you want the sweet spot between comfort and handling you can upgrade to some 15 inch sport rims
YS I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. In particular your common sense approach to driving in different conditions, and replying to comments made by your viewers about indicating. I could not help but notice that this Picanto has a left-hand- drive orientation whereby the light and wiper binnacles are back to front. I did also watch your video on the Toyota Supra and what a difference! I agree with your comment about the fuel consumption for such a spirited drive. BTW we also have this very same model here in Australia. I think any Aussie thinking of buying this car should watch this video before making their decision. This is a great little micro hot hatch. Kia produces good cars nowadays and it's a shame that Kia Malaysia is not doing enough to bring in more new models of Kia like the new K3 and Kia Soul. By the way, another good drive, though under foggy conditions. Drive safe sir!
I come from myvi 1.5 lagi best to kia picanto ex. The material, nvh, multimedia, handling and brake are far better than perodua. Enjoying the drive everyday after 1 year of ownership. Best decision ever made.

It is obvious that you did not fully enjoy this hill drive & it did register in your expression. The safe driving tips in foggy condition expounded are priceless : lights on to be seen , drive at speed corresponding to how far one's vision is ! In wet & thunderstorm condition on hi-ways , may like to add the danger of splashing sprays on one's windscreen blinding vision temporary ( eg overtaking lorries & trucks)...trick is to hold the steering straight & not to brake..! Visibility will come. Enjoy yr videos as I am only probably 5 years yr junior & yr tips are all from past experiences.
Thank you Liew..... There is some sort of stress if you cannot see properly, and although it is a fun drive, we still have to be extra careful, in the interests of safety. I would definitely prefer a nice and clear road, with good visibility and dry conditions. Then you will see the smiles. In fact every time I come up to a car, I have to gauge whether it is safe to overtake, and also try to predict his trajectory, whether there is enough room to overtake, whether he will cross the line into my path, and things like that. I have this car, it is nearly 2 years old now. personally i don't like this gear box. it is bit difficult to drive in traffic very sharp acceleration, and on highway once you pass 80 Kmph the engine is so loud and the fuel consumption gets low. other than that it is a well built car.

Kia really outdone theirself this time. Ventilated disc on the front? That's mad for economy cars, I've never heard of any economy cars use ventilated disc brake. Sounds like a solid car, it's interesting to see that 20 years ago Korean cars are labelled as trash. Now they're really good.
Idk why old model picanto had telescopic steering wheel but this new 1 dont have. I rented 1 from socar and drove it to johor north south fast lane did 170 180 the car held up fine turning circle is smaller than an axia.
here in Europe this car is A-segment car, everybody consider it a city car, but I like it a lot there in Malasya you push it to the limit ;) This a very sporty car!
No sir, a driver must use signal every time when going to change lane or before enter and exit junction no matter got car or not behind and make it a habit. If not someone can give excuse they didn't see any car even there is one. Other tips that you share I agree thanks you.

Very tempted to test out myself after viewing it at showroom, but my dad told me “Don't test the car if you're not serious to own it" , I was like 😩. I recalled I've seen some photos of picanto ex trim test in sepang trackday , really wonder how good it is.. Love the feeling of small cars zipzap through corners on mountains or tight areas.. For heavy rains, there are double problems, visibility and grip. Therefore speeds must come down, and you have to ensure your tyres have good enough tread for the rainy season. It's a different scenario, so I would say it is not the same guidelines.
Hahaha, if I added passengers the car will be slowed down a lot. Remember it is a small engine. I sometimes get people who get upset and say I should try going up the mountain with 5 people - of course I know the difference and anybody wanting to go up and enjoy cars like these would not want to load it up. Besides, it is not easy to find 4 people all the time, and they won't enjoy being thrown around. Handling would also be affected, and I wouldn't want to take the risk. Hahaha, no worries, comments are welcome, and it is only the unfair accusations and unreasonable comments I ignore.

Did you change the way you film the first person view at the start of the video? It feels weird and disconnected when you're cornering or changing lanes. It feels hard to determine if you are in the middle of your lane or not
@@YSKhongDriving Uncle YS Khong, I believe it's due to the Gyro option being on in the recording camera. The camera is trying to keep up with the cornering G-Force, it helps when you're recording for scenes or during angle change or even vibrations but for uncle's uphill drive it'll produce this left right left right effect as uncle corners. Disabling or reducing the feature will help maintain the recording angle straight forward but it'll be more susceptible to bumpy vibrations and not so smooth camera pan.. PS: I love your videos uncle!! -your young fan

Cars in this s categories ry are very similar, but I think the Picanto has a high t quick f edge due to the 26 inch wheels. Power is a deficit compared to the Perodua and the Persona. Persona has probably the largest interior space

Guna myvy se selama 12 tahun tanpa major problem, so keyakinan tu ada pd myvi Tapi Pica GT ni pandu dia lagi seronok cuma boot space kecil. Tak muat nak letak barang aku yg wajib ada dlm kereta. Design dalam lagi lawa pica GT dan seat pun lg selesa pica GT. Harga tak byk beza tapi baca dlm group pica, harga sparepart boleh tahan dan harga service pun lebih mahal dari myvi. Fikir utk jangka masa panjang so ambil myvi. Takut jadi apa2 kemudia hari, nak tunggu sparepart makan masa berbulan. Kereta kegunaan harian. Takde kereta, hilang kaki 😅

When i was young. The best small car i had driven was the suzuki swift GTi. 1.3 twin cam 16v produces 100hp 0 100 in 8.6 sec.👍👍👍Really miss this car.

The Picanto has 16 inch wheels, so handling is a bit better. But the Iriz has a bigger capacity engine, and so is more powerful.

The Myvi has more power, but the trim level in this is much more luxurious.

Tapi Pica GT ni pandu dia lagi seronok cuma boot space kecil. Tak muat nak letak barang aku yg wajib ada dlm kereta. Design dalam lagi lawa pica GT dan seat pun lg selesa pica GT. Harga tak byk beza tapi baca dlm group pica, harga sparepart boleh tahan dan harga service pun lebih mahal dari myvi. Fikir utk jangka masa panjang so ambil myvi. Takut jadi apa2 kemudia hari, nak tunggu sparepart makan masa berbulan. Kereta kegunaan harian. Takde kereta, hilang kaki 😅

Cheapest is axia with asa 2.0 I think
ASA 2.0 only use camera to detect. Cannot compare to picanto which use radar sensor and camera.
