    Interesting railguns. Too bad the AI doesn't know (yet) how to fan-fire them.

      Hey @AlexKasper, thanks for checking out the video! It's true, the AI can't quite fan-fire those railguns yet. Maybe a future update will bring that functionality. Glad you found them interesting though!

      @@tlnythegamer After watching the video, I launched Cosmoteer and tested my career end-game ships against these new ships. My ships were 8x30, 6x30, and 4x30 rail-fans with > 100 m/s speeds.
      I had no problem defeating all ships, except the Thunderbird, which only the 8x30 was able to defeat. Else it would have ended up in a stalemate. The Thunderbird PDs were very good at intercepting the rail-gun rounds. The weak spot is the reactor at the middle of their railguns. Blow it and the whole ship is crippled.
      The Augustus was easy if one stayed out of missile range, else it was deadly. If one needs to get inside range, one would have to sneak in, punch in a round and sneak out while your own PDs engage the missiles, or be destroyed.

      Thanks for sharing your experience, @AlexKasper! It's interesting to hear how different ship designs perform in combat. Sounds like the Thunderbird's PDs pose a significant challenge. Great tip about targeting the reactor!

    what i dont like about in-game ships is that they focus on 1-time dealing as much damage to the player as possible, whilst not caring about being destroyed

      Hey @GalbatorixTheFirst, I hear you. It can be frustrating when in-game ships prioritize dealing a big blow over their own survivability. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

      @@tlnythegamer i feel like it would add a bit of realism/storytelling if pirates/faction militaries cared about their own safety, eg. running away if they are vastly outmatched, or if they are heavily damaged trying to retreat and repair or something like that. as they are its like they are mindless zombies that just rush whatever they see.

      Agreed, @GalbatorixTheFirst! Adding more nuanced behaviors like retreating when outmatched could enhance the realism and immersion in the game. Great suggestion!
