Recorded on November 6, 2015 at the David Rubenstein Atrium
Gabriel Byrne is simply wonderful and SO handsome. He is thoughtful, smart and a really great actor.
So proud of Gabriel Byrne. The things he has achieved and still very down to earth. He has been through alot.He expresses himself so well.Very honest.💚
Agreed!!
I have followed his career since "The Riordans" and "Bracken" on RTE in Ireland in the late 70's and I am still listening to this man.
The first time I saw Mr. Byrne was in the 1986 movie " Defence of the Realm ". After that I was a fan of him.
A great actor and more importantly a humanitarian.
He was awesome in that film!
"...Life is infinitely more important than a career..." Gabriel Byrne. Thanks for the upload. I thoroughly enjoyed this interview with an unpretentious, intelligent, sensitive man called Gabriel Byrne who is true to himself. The word "integrity" comes to mind.
👍 to the interviewer for allowing him talk.
Love this man, great chat, refreshing to see an interviewer let the guest relax and speak, excellent interviewer, fair play Will Rogers
I think he is truly a great actor and a great man. Love to watch him talk about his career and life in general. 'In Treatment' is probably his single greatest achievement as an actor, and I recommend it to anyone and everyone to seek out if you enjoy his work.
J Hallenbeck Just finished watching In Treatment. That's what got me here. Favorite actor, today.
J Hallenbeck Gabriel Byrne is talented, amazing and my favorite actor. Not only In Treatment is among his greatest achievements. He made three plays of Eugene O'Neil on Broadway - brilliant and at the same time hard, exhausting roles, Just a Sigh, I Anna, Quirke, Wah-Wah, ect.ect. He was Cultural Ambassador of Ireland and still supports Irish Art Center in NYC, his roles in Miller's Crossing and Usual Suspects became classic. He's also involved in various charities and being a human rights activist
IN TREATMENT is so amazing , what a great actor !
@@violettasherbina8889 Yes! My favorite role of his was Tom Reagan in "Miller's Crossing," but he was really very good in everything he was in: "The Usual Suspects," "Little Women," "Jindabyne," etc..
@@violettasherbina8889 Hear Hear! Excellent comment!
I'd like to see him win an Oscar in the acting or producing roles. Gabriel Byrne is a wonderful actor.
I would like to see him get the Lifetime Achievement Award, but Byrne will never get a nod of any kind from the Academy. He has been criticizing Hollywood very strongly for some years. His "Guardian" interview directly after "Walking with Ghosts," was very biting about the industry.
This is a therapy session for everyone...... not just actors. I have a new-found respect for the acting profession.
Really, this is one of the deepest Lincoln Center conversations I can remember
I have so much respect and love for Gabriel Byrne
I got to meet him in 2016 at the Maine International Film Festival. He received the Midlife Achievement Award. Great person.
Gabriel Byrne has very good insights about life.
Smart, handsome man
beatifull voice
A fellow Dub 💚 Gorgeous man 💕
Amazing
💜
This is a real conversation. Couldn't you listen to Gabriel Byrne for hours?
By the way, he is hilarious about the Johnny Depp scene in "Dead Man" that Rogers brings up at the end.
Byrne was still married to (though separated from) Ellen Barkin in 1994 when she started dating Johnny Depp, just like his "wife" in the film.
thats interesting fact! =)
@@МадинаСафарян (:
@@МадинаСафарян She testified against Depp in the Amber Heard trial.
No questions ask by the audience ?
will rogers is clearly a nice person, but he definitely should stick to acting - no talent as an interviewer whatsoever.
No, I thought he was a very pleasant young man and very articulate.
A good interviewer is one that lets the interviewee express himself and tell his story. All you have to do is point to some path to follow though a couple of questions. Will did a proper job here.
