They’re not technically zombies. If you played the other games you’d know what they are so I’ll give a warning as it is a massive spoiler but they’re people being controlled by the CC or Collective Consciousness. Now I’m pretty sure it gets destroyed in the last game so idk maybe that’s wrong I haven’t played 2 yet but if it’s the same then that’s what they are.
This should be right although they call them zombies in the game. But my understanding is that there are types that basically doesn’t have consciousness of their own, some are being controlled by different “things”, like Controller mutants for example. I’m learning more I’m going forward
