This is exactly why I stopped going to hair stylist. They would always be rough with my hair and break it off with using super skinny combs. My hair is thick and I would always leave with lots of hair lost.

The tip to long hair is to LEAVE IT ALONE. I shaved my head a few years ago and it’s already grown past my shoulders touching my back. Just keep it moisturized and protected and it will grow like weeds. Try not to put heat on it too often
Are we the same people? I buzzed off mine too in distress two years ago and its near my armpits. What do i do? Absolutely nothing! I dont lay my edges or brush it. I finger comb it and make sure its detangled. Then i just push it back for work and let it out, all spiraly and bushy when im at home😂😂😂😂😂 i havent straightened it since last year

Iam glad I saw this, I live in the Caribbean, and when my friends from the US see m e setting my hair in CURLERS, they laugh, but when you set your hair in curlers it is better than blow drying your hair, blow drying dries out BLACK HAIR,.I observed this as a black woman. I also have a nice head of hair.

I wish I didn't have my hair cut so many times in my life. I even grew Dreads then ended up shaving my whole head off again. Now my hair has been stuck at around 9ins (short ponytail). Beautiful hair goals. I personally don't have the patience to dry my hair for 4hrs let alone 1 hr

@@DaigeeDeJ for that length it can take about 5 years if you have good hygiene and diet- if you have this hair texture. It’s similar to mine, and I had it grown naturally down to my waist. Most of the time factor has to do with 3 factors: diet, genetics and hygiene. But yes, you always have a lot of hair as a child, and texture is thick, but strands are open curls and coils, not as tight. I think based on the factors, it all depends on each individual. I chopped it off a couple years ago, and it’s growing down my back again...definitely no heat all the time. She mentioned the client only goes to the salon 1x every 3 months. Same here! No salon heat! Pressing hair all the time can break the bonds in your hair.
This is what you call good hair and healthy hair and I wish people stop thinking that every black woman has a wig and weave. There are more black women with beautiful, healthy, long natural hair.

Beautiful hair. Ladies if you want long hair, then give yourself mane what she needs. Keep her clean every week (for those with dandruff every 4 days), conditioner should ALWAYS be used idc what the shampoo bottle says about having conditioner in it. You definitely want to detangle with the conditioner and rinse it out, style and dry. I don’t always use heat to dry my hair. My hair is waist length and thick, I don’t use any oils or butters. It stunts my hair growth.
It’s an old school technique that makes your straight hair last longer and reduce heat damage. Best way is to roller set, then quick blow out and flat iron on some hair types.
It seems like flat ironing her hair and then curling it after sitting under the dryer with the roller set is a lot of heat and stress to the strands of hair. Maybe she only does this process occasionally though. However, her hair is beautiful and the stylist did a wonderful presentation of her skills.

It's not the heat alone that damages hair It's heat + lack of proper hydration to the hair and scalp
