I could be wrong but I assume cleaning that recessed track once it gets gunked up with debris is going to be pretty difficult. And considering the apparent weight and difficulty of pushing these, might as well motorize the mechanism. Looks nice but I doubt anyone is going to be happy living with these once the wow factor dissipates.
The tracks are in the ground, but they can’t be blown out and cleaned. The panels do get heavier the more there are. It was relatively easy to push given some of the units we’ve installed in the past. You can get it motorized but we often find that done with 3 or more panels sliding in one direction
