Actually, cutting with the pocket saw is much harder work because of the larger amount of wood you have to cut up, also, because you have to force it around the log, but you can use the big muscles of your back. If you take a sturdy branch, you can turn it into a bow saw - it will cut much easier. It's pack size is unmatched. Best way to use it is operate it with two persons, each one pulling at opposite ends and keep the chain quite straight. Chains keep their sharpness much longer than blades too.
I feel like being able to stand on smaller logs/ branches and cut from the bottom up using the pocket saw will be much more stable which in my experience is the biggest issue with pruning saws. You usually don't find a log like this with big limbs sticking into the air.
It may or may not matter, but that chainsaw is more for green wood. A different tooth configuration would be better for dry dead wood. There are pocket chain saws that have a dry wood tooth configuration, if you want to compare them at some point.
Wrong tool. The proper hand tool for that would be a two man bucking saw. If you need something lightweight and portable, get a bow saw that you can break down. These are very useful, I think, for sawing high limbs from the ground.
Excellent workout Kai-Uwe 😂👌🏻 I have the fiskars one, needed yesterday but have forgotten it at home. But two of the places with wind fallen trees the chainsaw You have could have done it. I had to turn arout three times... 🤠
I have the Fiskars and also Silky GomBoy and BigBoy for larger cutting. I plan on getting the smaller Silky Pocket Boy. Silky is a pull cut saw and Fiskar is a push pull crosscut. Pull stroke is much more efficient and cuts more wood faster.
I own a multiple Fiskars slide saws, and have used them for 15 years, at least. Maybe the reason why you dislike the Fiskars is because you are using it incorrectly. If you're trying to push pull with the Fiskars (which is, in fact, a PULL CUT saw), I can see why you'd think it doesn't cut as fast as the Silkys.

I got mine for half the money at the Fjällräven Outlet in Ö.vik. Not really worth paying double just to get the ”right” colour! ;-)
