  • Continuing from @Part 1: Installing Stub Axle and Brakes", I finally complete the front end assembly! This is a major milestone in the project, to have 4 wheels back on.

Congratulations, it is always satisfying to start the reassembly. At least it can be moved now. Good work.

Thanks Chris, yes my next task is to re-organise the garage a bit for more room to allow engine/gearbox inside.

    Things are getting exciting now!
I've only just started stripping mine (1958 S2) so a while to go yet. Your videos are a great inspiration. Thanks!

They are JC. Sounds like you have a little gem also. Best of luck with your build and thanks for posting.

This looks great! Currently stripping a series 2, 1960! Looking forward to getting to the rebuild stage! One thing is really, REALLY bugging me about your build though.... you’ve got everything looking like brand new... and then that tatty yellow steering arm at the front! 😂 honestly though, it’s looking great!

lol, yeah expect more tatty'ness as I start to build up to try the patina look. if i dont like it i can always paint it. Good luck with your build too, takes time but worth it.

Rover Tasmania : that’s the spirit! You can’t paint it because I don’t like it!
At the end of the day, it’s YOUR Land Rover. Build it how YOU like it and if people like me don’t like it .... tough luck for us, haha! You have done a great job though, good build so far!

So what is the orientation of the brake lines that supply brake fluid to the upper and lower cylinders? Does the line that supplies fluid go to the back or the front of the hub assembly?

Do you have a special tool for fitting the axle castle or slotted nut?

A deep socket works, same as for tie rod ends.
