This song was on his myspace, and I was able to save it through that, thankfully, because his myspace has since been deleted and I would have missed listening to those songs.
Brian is the lead singer/guitarist of The Gaslight Anthem.

He has great range. Listen to The Horrible Crowes cover of Joey by Concrete Blonde.

    The central boys landed safely
In the arms of the Irish girls
While the hometown lots ready their nooses and their knots
    Hang their preconceptions on
While the political lions and tigers and bears
Decided which of the cubs they'd be crucifying
And who'll take the fall at the end of it all
They'll just say it was Italian lightning
Now Mary she wakes up vacant
From them long nights with the fashionistas
Who were deadly as strangers and lovely as angels
And always just dying to meet ya
My country what have you done to your girls?
The devil at the details or something a bit more exciting
And you can find them at the mirrors and on the weights of the scales
Blame it all on Italian lightning
Now me I just stick to the boardwalk
Driving up and down these Avenues
I found some work on LaRainne
    Thanks to little Irish Grace
I was hard up and home for the season
I was walking last night with Miss Mary
We saw the flames shooting right out of them buildings
Maybe it was time, maybe it was despair
That got up in the soul of that city
Since the Ferris wheels don't spin and the casino's caving in
Maybe she never healed from the riots or the fighting
But I heard ya, Wiggs, quoting Davish saying
"Maybe it was just Italian lightning, probably Italian lightning"

Exactly! No one does, Italian lightning is to represent something completely unrelated to an event that people use as a scapegoat. Read over the lyrics... it fits! :)

i think its kind of interesting/cool that even though TGA is starting to blow up in the mainstream and radio scene, this music is still relatively unknown, kinda reserved for the long time TGA and brian fallon fans.

its rare for an artist to put out great stuff after great stuff.
    gaslight anthem or brian alone.
great music. i don't know anyone who doesn't like gaslight.
no dislikes. the way it should be.
honest music. straight. no voice ehnaced or cheap rap verse.
    direct, much recpect brian.

It angers me as a person who tries to write that even the old, obscure content pulled from his earliest days is still good lol. Literally none of it is bad writing. It's just like, proto-Brian Fallon. Like there was never Charmander Brian Fallon. He started as Charmeleon Brian Fallon and became Charizard Brian Fallon.

Replying to an old comment here, I know, but I think National Anthem sounds a lot like "Here's Looking At You Kid" as well. Both this song and National Anthem have many similarities to it, I think.

Yes, I've heard that people born in the same country and having roughly the same age share many similarities. Thanks for your advice.
