ProjectShinobii Tbh, this city is founded is only sustained by the suffering of the LoCaste, that's why it's unrealistically beautiful, because it's founded on different "methods" that aren't fair for many people. Lore aside, the architecture and aesthetic of the city really amazes me. Soon, the world might commonly resemble Mirror's Edge, but I hope that people aren't treated the same way that they are in the game.
One of the most beautiful game ever made . Edit: after 4 years from my original comment, now Imagin playing this game 120fps on LG OLED. I wish one day I could play this game on VR so I could live it.
You know, it's on long runs like this that you can really appreciate the designers' use of different texture & color palettes for each district and use of transition areas to divide them. It all flows so naturally.
this game gives me vibes that no other game does. its sooo aesthetically pleasing, the music is amazing, and its so alive and fun even after you beat it
@@JustinMacri007 Whatever you said made very little sense. I experienced no major bugs on PC (and actually very few minor bugs as well, for such a grand game).
I have to admire the architecture and the varied environments you run through, the open world gives you the freedom you need. The music is really fusing it all together, goes from nice driving techno tracks to pure ambient bliss, Solar Fields deliveres! Is there some sort of iron man time trial mode for a whole city lap ?
I don't know about lap, as the city is divided by a chokepoint that kills the feeling that you're running in a large loop, but there's a video called "it's a long way to regetta bay" by an account called oshinoshinobu that's close to what you're looking for, it's a more or less direct route between the two farthest points on the map
I wanted to thank mirrors edge team and EA, Dice. For releasing this amazing game I waited for 8 years. We finaly got it. And we really appreciate and it will be there many years to come tohit you with this insane graphics!
Mirror's Edge Catalyst: Gameplay - 10/10 Graphics - 9/10 Open World - 8/10 Soundtrack - 10.5/10 Story - 4/10 Edit: I’m honestly surprised this comment is still getting traction. Hope y’all are doing well 😁
Catalyst is flawed in many ways but I am still loving most of it simply bc it's a sequel to mirrors edge. Don't think there will be a game that feels more ahead of it's time than the original.
It was so far ahead of its time, yet it failed miserably in the areas that truly captivated me in the first mirrors edge. Its so sad because if they captured what mirrors edge brought us and had the improvements of catalyst this couldve been a titan of a franchise
so i'm getting a computer soon that can finally run this game (i don't have a console that can and PC master race) and I've been playing the first one recently, I was watching this and was just mesmerized at how good it was, it looked good, it looked so smooth, and the fact that you can run around in the overworld for 30 minutes without getting bored (well maybe you did after doing it for so long) is just a sign of an amazing game, when I get this I will go to every damn nook and cranny of this world doing parkour, god this is such a good game.
From 3:30 to 6:15, the sync with movement and overall music were truly giving off a SCI-FI feeling and immersion. Felt like the most unique piece of music I've ever let my ears assimilate.
Mirror's Edge is that sort of franchise which its consumers consume in a sort of way that is so perfect and simple because of its narrow-yet-"you-defined" routes you take. Plenty of standalone memorabilia -like framed concept art for consumer purchase- really show that this is a world within its own and that the sequel respected and enhanced the artistic concepts of the original... If a third were to be made I'd love to see more enterable households: cool fish-tanks and couches to sit on, your own apartment complex, with venetian, white vertical-lined shades with a sunny view of the highways and subsequent highrises; and more of the lower / upper caste system conversation at play in the background. Again, stuff which respects the sequel, with just a bit of something more to get the feet wet, (and then to earn again from there for a potential fourth lol, that's how it should go...). Because I think that Catalyst's biggest strength was that, "it didn't go too far from the first to become wholly unrecognizable"...
Thanks for putting out the video without annoying runner vision on. I really like Eden Village with the Sunset and Night environment. I played MEC on the PS4 and the graphics were meh. It's a shame that MEC did not come for Linux so I can enjoy the graphic fidelity as well. But oh well, maybe there will be a future release of Wine that can play MEC. Who knows.
yeah! Like I tried to play one time without motion blur but Faith’s movement and everything around me like screamed for the motion blur. Almost like the game was build on motion blur :D
Wow. The way you fllawlessly managed to navigate the whole city (without neglet skill) is crazy. I always wished to do a video like this (I've only made a very short one recently) but always mess up some parts, forgetting where to go and taking the longfall way. XD
I’ve played this game for a while now and its really good. The only thing that i find annoying is the random characters standing on the roofs that you can’t talk to
Idk if you know but you know you can back flip from swinging on the poles? When you jump to a pole that you swing on, hold your back movement key while jumping from it and you'll back flip
I miss this type of game, the parkour gameplay is just soo much fun - too bad we probably won't ever get a sequel to this. I'd love to see different locations/cities in this style, with the story a bit more expanded.
ProGamingUnlimited damn that's a lot =P I've become a little bored of just running around after I completed the game 100%, but it's fun to revisit the game at times and roam around the city =P
I think it's the music from the "top of the world" mission. th-cam.com/video/BJK1mqB7nho/w-d-xo.html This video is the ambience from it, but the full sound track is on fairly regular rotation for me and I *think* it's on there.
I wish someone built a city like this in real life. So beautiful. Looks like paradise.
Same. I even looked up if there were any cities like this but the closes ones were Hong Kong, Dubai and tokyo

I think not by the game itself but I'm pretty sure that someone surely created a custom time trial for a hole city tour :)

+Doritos Perhaps a 6.5. I don't know what the hell I was thinking when I put 8 :P
forgot sound design too, that's another 10 for me.
The map is good, but the poor connection between its parts really kills it

It was a commercial success though...

As far as graphics are concerned, this game aced it. I played it in 2020, and graphics still feel impressive.
imagine playing this on the RTX 30 series and their being a Ray Trace mod. this game gonna look amazing with a silky smooth fps

I would love to have Mirror's Edge VR, that would be amazing to play and experience.
