Today we take our freshly dyno tuned 500hp d16 turbo Honda Civic out on the streets and break it already! Making this much power on tons of stock parts is a ton of fun but sometimes something's gotta give! We had tons of random issues with the map sensor and coolant temp sensor as well! We will get it all figured out soon!

Its not solid mounts so much as needing a traction bar and stiffer springs. Super easy to add poly inserts in the mounts but you will still have wheel hop.
@@SortaProfessional89 No engine damper you want the engine to flex some. Plus you dont want all the added harmonics. Its a suspension thing more then an engine movement issue.

The motor mount failing definitely caused the axle to blow out as it would have put the drive line into a weird axis. Awesome lil car!

I highly recommend you getting a front traction bar for the civic also a phantom grip to make the transmission LSD so you wont break no more axles and stop wheel hop👍😎

Solid or at least better engine mounts would help the hop I saw the engine move like 4 inches in the dyno lol

New high hp axle and a traction bar will do you justice 👍🏾
Innovative mounts or Hasport mounts will stop that wheel hop, put a traction bar on it too. And gator axles. You’ll have a solid fun toy! The fact you’re having more fun with a civic than a Supra is just hilarious lol keep up the work Trev!

takes time to get stuff all sorted out but good thing about d-series civics is there cheap and parts plentiful. A tip I would give you is to remove the lightweight crank pulley and put the stock harmonic balancer back on your main bearings will thank you those lightweight crank pulleys and flywheels do more harm than good as the heavier flywheel and stock crank pulleys help to dampen the engine harmonics which is important for engine balance. Also buy some stronger axles I would recommend insane shafts you cant beat them for the price. Gonna need solid mounts also if you dont want to spend money you can just fill the stock engine mounts with window weld urethane and once it cures they are solid works like a charm.
Can you please paint and finish the Datsun next? It would look beautiful finnished with the fleet. You should also do a shoot out between all your cars when they're finished 🤔

Long live the D series!. The replacement "R18" SOHC engines been out like 13 years now and you never hear about built ones. maybe like 1 fully built on YT
With those old engine mounts every wire harness in your bay would get disconnected once you do pulls. And your axles too.

That 1 BB , Jamie from PFI said before you do anything replace the motor mounts. I cant believe it doesn't break more shit when it moves around so much.

Doing a 350-400hp build on a 2.0T 9-3 right now. Those axles can handle that and more.

You’re gonna want to get a B series trans or the kit to run an intermediate shaft that Hush Performance makes. My buddy blew 3 sets of aftermarket axles on his Turbo D and he only was running at 380hp. For whatever reason the disparity in axle length on D series always causes a failure.
Lucky to be able to get it running and lucky nothing serious, There are tough axel's for Honda that can handle 800Hp if not mistaken you can get them on ebay last i checked.

No offense Dude but you should of cut that extension peice off the pan. I know it's only a drain and won't have much weight on it but I think if you cut it back and welded the an fitting as close to the pan as possible to stop it cracking. Your welds will be fine it will be the cast aluminum on the pan that will give you trouble. Ask me how I know. Awesome video Mate. Cheers.
You should do a side or fender exit so the exhaust doesn’t get in the way of driving

Your d 16 made a tiny bit more whp then my boosted h on twice as much boost congrats that’s really working a d series !!! Wish I was down there we could do some pulls mines in a prelude so you’d have me on weight but it pulls car sounds super similar to my h I love turbo Honda’s
Isn’t there some duralast good Acura axles that you can upgrade too that are a little more sturdy
