And to top it all off, he learns that he was manipulated into basically making a perfectly good lawyer’s life hell for 7 years and condemned his child to have to work extra to feed the family.
The first two were the other way around. His brother was proven a murderer, then his friend was proven a murderer and a smuggler of an illegal substance.
... Godot literally wanted to gain guilty verdicts to take revenge against the man who gave justice to his girlfriend, and later he tried to pin his murder in Maya, that basically is the definition of asshole.
Blackquill is an special case, the guy wasn't exactly completely interested in the truth and he tended to manipulate people on the court, but he never did something as bad as Godot or Franziska, I actually like how he took the blame for a crime he didn't commit in order to protect Athena, even if that means he hid the truth for years and years... So, he wasn't exactly good but he wasn't bad, I would said he is exactly in the middle.
Klavier is possibly my favorite prosecutor. Which is weird, considering all the things you should hate about him; a womanizing pretty-boy rockstar prosecutor who constantly makes fun of Apollo and had his first case at 17 and got Pheonix Wright disbarred for 7 years, made Trucy lose her real father and resulted in his brother corrupting the legal system. But he's just such a freakin' decent person who doesn't have a desire to win in spite of the truth and goes out of his way to help the team, even inviting him to his concert, for no other motive besides than doing the right thing.
Okay, that part with getting Phoenix disbarred wasn't his fault. He was tricked by Kristoph into believing that Phoenix had forged evidence when it was actually planted by him.

Yeah usually I hate womanising characters (pathetic in fiction and irl) but I can't help but feel some kind of affinity towards Klavier. He's different from the other prosecutors in that he prefers to get the truth out with no regard for his "victory record". I admire people like that, both in fiction and irl.

My headcanon is that after the events of Dual Destinies he and Athena became friends. Their interactions were pretty friendly and they both lived in Europe for a long time, so yeah. Why do I headcanon it? Because she is a psychologist and good god does Klavier need one.
Athena confirms that she still has some fondness for Klavier in Spirit of Justice. Case 2 - if you inspect the roses in Trucy's dressing room, Apollo will comment that roses are pretentious, but Athena says that Klavier makes it work. (And then, of course, there's some more banter and teasing.) So yeah, pretty much canon that Athena and Klavier are at least on good terms, if not outright friends.

Still furious that Capcom hasn’t given Klavier his own kick-ass redemption arc He redeems himself in this game and proves himself to be an amazing prosecutor and ally, but I really feel like he should be given his time to shine if they ever make another game
@@hiyoritokisada594 not sure what the person above meant by redemption but he does need an arc, there is a lot set up within the game that goes unnadressed in the absence of a sequel; him choosing by his own admission to ignore his doubts making him complacent in the rise of the dark age of the law, his present self being so pro system it becomes a running gag and having to come to terms with the fact that the system is deeply flawed and needs reshaping, his perfectionism having seemingly fractured his relationship with his bandmates, the ungodly amount of grief he has to shoulder... In essence we have a character with good intentions who's been made an agent of the worst possible people and institutions in a game that's all about justice; there's potential for an arc that would serve wonderfully the games' themes and would make his storyline feel complete instead of setup without payoff

To tell the truth, AJ:AA is my least favourite game from the franchise. It only has one significant case, most of new characters didn't appeal to me because I always felt suspicious of every one of them. I *hate* what they did to Phoenix, I hate his new persona with burning passion (and have my reasons for it). I don't really like Trucy because the developers didn't put enough effort into showing her personality. I don't like how blank and hollow Apollo was represented comparing to Phoenix in his first game. Like, remember all the things we knew about Wright from the start? We knew that he was childhood friends with Larry and Miles and that he was very loyal to them, we knew about the class trial, we knew his mentor and that his devotion for searching the truth was the result of her influence. All of this made Phoenix feel alive from the very beginning, whereas Apollo's backstory was only revealed in DD and SoJ. But despite *all* things I said earlier, there was a man who made AJ:AA worth playing. Klavier Gavin. A wonderful character with hidden depths. He is... I dunno, every detail of his personality resonates with me somehow, though we're vastly different. Maybe it is just me, but he felt somehow... smarter(?) than previous prosecutors. When you're not distracted by your hatred towards them and their demeanor and focused on your battle of wits, you can really appreciate how smart they are. And well, let's not ignore the elephant in the room... Klavier is one of the strongest people I ever knew. His strength can be, of course, partially a façade, but even containing it requires a lot of effort. I think he's a Knight of Heart, if you know what this term means; Knights naturally tend to create themselves a mask, a façade to hide their damage, pain and doubts. Because they are always in the middle of a battle, they are constantly fighting - for freedom, for their loved ones, or, in Klavier's case, for justice and truth. Knights don't have much time to weep over their losses and wounds, they have to go forward and lead others. They have to stay strong and cool. But under that shining armor there is always a human being of flesh and blood.
i love klavier, my fave prosecutor to date and for me he (and trucy) made aj one of the most heartfelt games in the series. i empathize with this guy so much, i hope he'll get a spinoff one day.. he just wants the truth with none of the bs

I know german is kinda his thing because I believe he studied there(?) but his aesthetic is obviously much more rockstar/guitar based... so why tf is his name Klavier/piano?? There's no explanation. His brother's name is a more normal Kristoph so I really don't know why they picked Klavier for him. I think they just thought it sounded cool honestly.

Honestly the plot is more about Phoenix than it is Apollo. We don't even hear about Apollo's full backstory until later games like SOJ.
