Love visiting Nola, but as a NYer for 62 years now in Florida for 12. Well about as street smart as they come, when I see a bunch, I know I shouldn't be there.
Miami's black population has dropped substantially over the decades. In 1990 it had 27% black population, 2000 it was 22% black and in 2010 it was 19% black. This is what uncontrolled immigration and uncontrolled gentrification does to cities.
Lots just started claiming their nationality vs claiming race. So some blacks became Haitians, Jamaicans, Bohemian and so forth. It’s still the same amount
@@KuntryBoyCitySlick No, what happened was a lot of Haitians moved out of Little Haiti into outer suburbs like North Miami, Miami Gardens and Miramar. Also, the widespread gentrification and redevelopment of Overtown, Wynwood, West Grove and now Liberty City has pushed a lot of blacks out of the city. Not even the same amount as it was 15 or 20 years ago. The black population of Miami peaked in the late 80s/early 90s just before hurricane Andrew.
Interesting that some of cities in the top of the list actually have a lower black population percentage than before. Atlanta Detroit, DC, the white population has increased a lot in the last decade or two.
@thedirtybubble9613 that is true in some cases, but there are other factors as well. Many middle and upper middle class blacks moved voluntarily to better neighborhoods or moved out of the area entirely, to other states with cheaper housing,(as all races have done) Often cashing out their house for a lot of money. For example, in San Francisco the Hunters Point-Bayview neighborhood was a historically black area, now it is over half Chinese. Blacks were able to sell their relatively small houses for over half a million dollars and bought a huge house in another state with enough money left over for a new car etc.
I live in Jacksonville, Fl. The 30% figure given is correct. Sadly, blacks commit 70% of the murders there. The murder capital of Florida. But the Mayo Clinic here is most likely the best hospital in the state and that’s where I go.
The Davis family who owned WinnDixie here liked the Mayo Clinic so much in Minnesota that they gave them the land in Jax to build a hospital. It’s a large medical campus.
