The tractor pulls the baler good on flat ground in medium 3-4. When it comes to going on hills it normally will put it in medium 1-2 depending on how steep the hill was. The size of bale we do is a 60 inch bale so its a 5x4 bale its a Vermeer 504R Signature series baler If i had to guess id say the bales weigh around 1000-1200 pounds depending on the moisture level in the hay if not more. the tractor does have some trouble lifting them it will become light in the rear of the tractor with those bales and the rear of the tractor has the loaded tires.
How has that tractor handled pulling that baler? I’m looking at getting a compact tractor to pull my Vermeer 5410 with. All the specs says it will work with the tractor I am looking at, but all the “hay kings” say no way Jose...
We had raked the first row with a rake just to test the baler and get the settings on it correct and to make sure everything was working properly. This was a big field and we went to the upper portion of it to start raking and the rake was going in front of the baler and was raking as we go. I will have better videos coming this summer of our new rake mower and baler.
It’s a nice tractor for the price and what you get for that price, but we have found that its got more power than it does weight it has strong enough hydraulics to pick the tractor off the ground completely with the front end loader we have found that it isn’t heavy enough to do most of the jobs we’ve done with it. We can’t use are hay mower with it because the tractor is too narrow and it’s too unstable and it won’t attach to our mower because it’s not the same class attacher as it and we haven’t found a different method of attaching it. We make 5x4 rolls of hay that are very heavy and packed tight and we have problems with the tractor daylighting the back tired when we lift the roll of hay. This tractor has plenty of power for its size but it doesn’t have the weight being a compact tractor to do any heavy lifting and be stable like other tractors. I would recommend it for a small farmer making smaller rolls of hay and using smaller equipment and not doing any odd jobs that would require a heavy stable tractor. Let alone this tractor will get the job done with some things but I would recommend getting the bigger rural king tractor the 73hp one if you plan on doing any medium to large scale farming or other task.
Yeah we’ve busted three of the pieces of glass out the tractor so far the glass isn’t safety glass and it breaks very easily the tractor overheats when we bake with it for a moderate amount of time e just purchased new 75hp John Deere tractor and it’s a dream compared to the rk55 he rn is compact tractor so it is very light and now very stable we think you can’t pick up a ton of feed with it without Therese tires coming off the ground and there loaded the tractor ha lots of power and hydraulics just not the weight and stability to go with it and it’s not very ideal for major farm use we think
@@nathanamaya4919 i am surprised it wasn't big enough. When i saw the RK 55 in person i was amazed at how large a tractor it is - surprised it is even called a compact.
Get you a full windrow if you haven’t already, you won’t be pulling that baler with that speed if you can pull it. I’m not be smart I know what it takes to turn a baler that size in dry hay.
We where just testing the baler it was the first bale through it we have a 24 foot v rake we use and the rural king tractor won’t move very fast through it from lack of power we have a new John Deere tractor that has a lot more power and it will pull the baler at 8-10 mph steadily
Very nice bale also! What size John Deere do you have? I’m running a new John Deere 450M with a John Deere 5300 that has had pump turned up 10%. I just got sheet metal set on the baler and it’s doing good on rolling hills but could use a little extra power is my reason for asking....
That’s too much baler for that small of a tractor. Yes, you’ll get away with it for awhile, but you will drastically shorten the lifespan of that tractor. Especially if you’re trying to put up several hundred bales per season.
Can you please tell me what ply tires came on your rk 55
Would you recommend this tractor at most I would use it for mowing with a bat wing or a simply brush hog
Is this 504R Signature?
Now that it has been over 2 years what issues have you had with the tractor?
What size bale do you make? My dad has the Vermeer 504R premium baler and makes 4x5 bales that weigh in around 550
We make the 5x4 bale
Any troubles pulling the baler? And what size bale doesn’t it put out and what’s type of baler is it?

How is it stopping on hills with a bale? That is pushing it down the hill with a bale in it.
Why did you not rake the hay?????

I got one yr 250 hours also own have deere 5055 and 5065 . They all get light in rear with a 5by 4 roll due to short wheel base.put one on back to
Only thing I've notice noticed is 5065 leaves alot deeper ruts in the mud have to dozer to level up
That’s a lot of baler for a small tractor. Be careful.
Youve had the rk 55 for awhile now any complaints im really considering this over a john deere or kubota

311hitwall it’s tiny what are you talking about?

How much was the baler?
Somewhere in the ballpark of $30,000

That roll of hay looked like crap baler needs more hp or run at a slower ground speed
