corporate structure that isolate iliquid and high risk asset held by bank or FI or group of banks and FY .
to concentrate on NPA resolution -seperate stressed asset from performing asset so that it can be rcovered .-bad bank take over all stressed asset and gives money to bank based on the value of stressed asset -and focus on only recovering by selling that asset .
ther are ARC but they are not fully succeful in india .Bad bank is actually a bigger structure .It does not mean it is bad .It comprises of only bad loan and helps the bank to clean their balance sheet .

I think it is one of the best solutions available for the huge NPA problem.. It will clean up the balance sheets of our banks. But more importantly, the Bad Bank can focus all its efforts on only one thing which is maximum recovery of the bad loans.. This may result in higher recovery than that which may be done by a regular bank.. Such an institution already exists in China.. We need the same asap..

First bank gave loan of 10000 crore. It became NPA. Bank also did provisioning of 5000 crore. Total loss to bank 15000 crore. It shifted all this to NARCL. It recovered 6000 crore. Sir said benefit of 1000 crore. But I see loss of 4000 Crore

Segregation of bad loans / NPAs which get transferr ed to other institutions so that recovery of loans can be done are known as Bad Banks. It is way to mitigate the over burden of stress on Banks .
