I grew up watching Hollywood movies where people often say "I love you" and kiss on screen. I only started watching C-dramas in the last two years and this scene just moves me to no end. They expressed more emotion and intimacy in this scene than shows where the characters actually say "I love you" and kiss. I also love that they're not doing anything particularly special in this scene, just drinking and relaxing and enjoying each other's company, yet the love just oozes through the screen. The background music is perfect and really helped enhance the mood of the scene. I literally shivered the way ZZH did when he heard his name called out. He acted out what the audience was feeling. This scene is just sublime.
and what's even more amazing is that it was suggested by zhang zhehan himself! Most of these iconic scenes were actually his doing!

This is by far one of the most affectionate and touching scenes in any drama series I have watched, honestly. What Wen and Zhou convey to each other is so subtle yet so profoundly emotive. This has got to be the moment they officially fall in love with each other.
Edit: The great lines and sublime acting aside, let's also thank the BGM and Huxia's soothing vocal that adds a touch of bittersweetness to this iconic moment of Wen and Zhou.

@@Acuraone11 Absolutely. The connection is at a spiritual level via eye contacts and telepathy. Note how happy and content Wen is when A Xu sees him as a good person. Note how Ah Xu is shy and blushing after Wen calls him 3 times, and how his eyes turn full of tenderness after Wen says he loves having someone's name for him to call like this. A Xu's returning Wen with 3 times of "Lao Wen" in such affectionate manner is like A Xu reciprocating Wen's confession with agreement and consent. The beauty of this scene is simply how these two flawed and guilt-stricken characters find warmth and seek refuge in each other's company that they even begin to long for living like a human being again. Sheer greatness of companionship and trust.

For those that don't know, the original script was to have Lao Wen call Ah Xu three times, and it ends there. But it was Zhang Zhehan's idea to suggest that Ah Xu should also get a chance to call Lao Wen three times as well, and so the director agreed, and it was up to Lao Wen to decide how to respond. Can you imagine if this scene only had Lao Wen said Ah Xu's name three times and not Ah Xu calling Lao Wen three times? How the end result would be so much less affectionate? How brilliant of Zhang Zhehan.

like I heard that the actor who played Gao Chong (Hei Zi?) had the idea to headbutt the fallen 5 Lakes Monument to end his life, instead of just doing it by sword - which is what was in the script.
Wen kexing calling A Xu name 3 times and Zhou Zishu calling Lao Wen name 3 times indicates "I Love You"
Even if it wasnt a code "" or a double meaning"" its still so obvious and clear. I mean the tone in the voice amd their eyes tells everything

it’s the way they call each other that makes it so affectionate, just like a person confessing their love, and also it’s a small detail so idk if anyone noticed, but A Xu called Lao Wen 3 times and his tone gets softer to the end. When he leaned closer and called Lao Wen for the 3rd time I almost melted into a puddle lmao

Zhang Zhehan really has affectionate eyes... He doesn't do the "heart eyes" very often because Zhou Zishu isn't a very expressive character in the beginning, but once he starts opening up, *aaaaaaaaaaah* Beautiful, beautiful. Smiling and bantering Zhou Zishu is really the best! Because we watch his journey from being cold and distant to a blinding ray of sunshine. It's crazy.
I get what the c-fans are saying now, although I did have an inkling of it before. Zhou Zishu isn't just a character; he is a person to be loved and to be missed. Thanks to Zhang Zhehan's superb performance. 😭

@@101meinu101 when I watch him in emotion heavy scenes, I get the feeling of getting lost in someone else's eyes. I almost can't believe it. He is very gifted (edit: and very dedicated. I guess that's the accumulation of his 10 years acting experience). I hope he gets more roles where he can really shine...

There is so much going on here with facial expressions and tone of voice - there is NO way of missing the depth of feeling here. Kudos to the actors and their director for saying, “If we can’t vocalize words of love, then we’ll just communicate it another way.”
I heard that the scene is created by ZZH. He asked the director to have him call 'Lao Wen' three times. So appreciated that you share the moment to us! I really 💕 YouKu!!! ✨❤️🥰❤️✨
Ofc a genious actor, he is so professional. The touches he gave were so perfect. And the eyes... Omg
What an iconic scene indeed! I can feel the love between these two characters radiating through the screen! Zhang Zhehan’s facial expressions here, especially with his eyes, are phenomenal, and Gong Jun’s smile here can make your problems go away! These two actors are so immersed in their characters and their chemistry is out of this world!!!
Three times they call each other's name, that's way more romantic than any intimate scene I've watched in cdramas. The bgm and the look in their eyes...man they are insanely in love...and they just accepted it.
The only romance that has ever moved me this much. No "I love you"s can compare

12集阿絮再次封神，這次不是釣系之神，而是救贖之神，相信大家聽到阿絮說的“壞人放下屠刀可立地成佛，好人做了壞事難道就永世不得超生？”和老溫說的“活著，給太陽曬著，還有個人的名字給我這麼叫著，真的挺好！”時，肯定和我一樣震撼感動，編劇不愧是心理學專業出身，這麼簡潔明了得直搗人心，我頓時覺得自己的世界也跟著老溫一起明亮了。阿絮身上的神性從這集開始表現得淋漓盡致，感情發展上，阿絮更是勇敢地往前走了一步，即使仍不了解老溫的全部，但相信自己沒看錯人，自此老溫和阿絮的進退模式調轉（之前是老溫窮追不捨的撩騷，阿絮一直釣著，但自此之後阿絮就一直打直球，向老溫表達自己的誠懇，意在鼓勵老溫也對他坦誠） 老溫還沉浸在阿絮昨晚的直球中，想確認阿絮到底是怎麼看他的，老溫這裡的情緒從小心翼翼到釋然，讓我也彷彿跟著他走了一遍，而阿絮全程都十分寵溺包容地開解老溫，散發著比陽光還暖融融的光芒。
這段油管版兩人互交叫對方三聲名字太纏綿悱惻了！老溫先叫了阿絮2次，所以阿絮才說的“叫魂呢”，這樣邏輯就比國內版順多了，然後老溫坐下後又叫了第3次~
第一聲：老溫剛被阿絮肯定為好人正是情意洶湧時，忍不住呼喚阿絮的名字“阿絮！”插曲《無題》再次出現，又是經典配樂片段，舒緩飄渺的曲調更為這段增添了點空靈感。“幹嘛？”阿絮這聲回復超級溫柔~老溫叫完第一聲後更壓不住滿腔情意，忍不住繞到桌子同一側想更靠近阿絮。這裡鏡頭暗含：老溫在籠外代表阿絮已救贖了老溫（現在算是初步救贖），但阿絮自己仍然困於籠內，等待老溫之後救贖。
這一段的拍攝含義真的絕了，嶺劇組窮，可滿滿的用心更彰顯珍貴。
第二聲（國內版）：靠近阿絮的老溫再次忍不住呼喚出聲，就像是確認這麼美好的阿絮真的在自己身邊似的。“阿絮！”我感覺第二聲呼喚已經快讓阿絮承受不住了~“叫魂呢？”這裡是個刀，其實周子舒已經快聽不清了，他是先讀唇語辨認溫客行在說什麼，再回叫魂呢。
第三聲：這一聲花絮原音特別特別溫柔深情，而且目光也能看出是赤裸裸的，就是藉著叫名字表達愛啊。“阿絮！”阿絮這裡的反應特別有意思，整個身體一抖，似乎被老溫電到了又有些害羞了，所以深吸一口氣的同時立刻將眼神移開了，然後才長舒了一口氣，似乎是有點慌亂地讓老溫別再叫了~已動情的阿絮怎麼受得了老溫這一聲又一聲愈顯情深的呼喚？“行了！温大善人，你閉嘴吧！別叫了。”雖表面說瘆得慌，但阿絮最後眼神卻也是赤裸裸的回視啊（老溫第三次叫阿絮這段太好品了~我循環了N次！兩人之間的化學反應太明顯了，非常明白為什麼國內版刪掉了哈哈哈）但老溫仍舊笑得十分深情開心地看著阿絮~所以阿絮深嘆一口氣再次將眼神移開了~但這次眼神是從上到下慢慢移動，似乎是將老溫整個人掃視了一遍~（阿絮這是又被老溫電到害羞，又忍不住滿眼都想裝下愛人的模樣啊~kswl~）
老溫將滿腔愛意通過名字抒發出來後心滿意足地仰頭感慨，這裡真的無法用言語形容，特別是配上後兩句歌詞，每每淚目，感謝上天讓我遇到了《山河令》，讓我遇到了老溫和阿絮，讓我可以放下執念，劍指黑夜，無所畏懼，就這麼簡簡單單地活著，享受每天的陽光，足夠了。“我就是覺得，活著，給太陽曬著，還有個人的名字給我這麼叫著，真挺好的。”被老溫懶洋洋曬太陽的樣子弄得淚奔，多希望每個人的生命中都能有一個阿絮，在人生落入低谷時能溫柔得將我們拉上來。
阿絮寵溺地看著老溫掙脫枷鎖，享受人間。但隨後收斂的笑容，應該是想到自己命不久矣了吧，是挺好的，但只有三年了。“是挺好的。”
這段張老師和龔老師臨場發揮再度封神，對應老溫之前叫的三聲阿絮，阿絮從倚柱到慢慢靠近，一直緊緊盯著老溫也叫了三次老溫，把阿絮的釣系誘惑表現得淋漓盡致，而老溫的三次反應也情緒逐漸遞進~兩人太絕了~與之前老溫叫阿絮三聲阿絮每次都回應一樣，我真的被這段殺死！“老溫”“嗯？”，“老溫”“啊？”，“老溫”“怎麼啦？”，兩人間的那種氛圍我覺得語言表達太蒼白了，一定要細細品味視頻！！
第一聲（國內版）：阿絮語氣這時還有點懶懶散散的，老溫則是下意識就回應了。“老溫”
第二聲：阿絮看到老溫沉浸在陽光中寵溺一笑，但並不放棄，用比第一聲誘惑又帶點情意的語氣再叫了一遍。“老温”果然老溫立刻被勾得轉頭看向阿絮，然後阿絮慢慢露出了笑容~這裡兩人的對視太經典了，老溫全然沒有防備得露出了近乎於天真的詢問的表情，阿絮則是又寵溺又有點勾引得笑，有點得意誘惑到老溫的感覺，也有點釣著老溫就是不說出情意的感覺。然後阿絮進一步誘惑，主動慢慢靠近老溫，像是要親上去，又像是等著被親上去似的，簡直絕了~
第三聲：然後停在不近不遠的地方幾秒鐘，看勾的差不多了就燦然一笑再次叫了一聲“老温”，這一聲有種瀟灑篤定之意，所以阿絮叫的這三聲就是對老溫之前愛意的回復啊，阿絮看到老溫僅僅叫自己的名字都覺得幸福，又想到自己短短的壽命，為何不珍惜時間大膽回應享受現在呢？
老溫愣了一下，笑得非常開心，然後直勾勾地盯著阿絮好一會兒才問出下面這句話，所以一方面必然是被阿絮誘惑到了~另一方面也是懂了阿絮給他的回應啊~“怎麼了”然後阿絮就轉移了話題~誘惑+愛意傳達到就大功告成了~釣系之神必然不會直說啊哈哈哈。“喝酒了！”碰杯，暢飲。很喜歡這種一鬧一靜的感覺，兩人自成天地，但仍處於滾滾紅塵中，誰對於整個世界不是滄海一粟呢？何必拘泥。
掉肩的外衣
送走成嶺、確認了老溫的心意（“天涯浪客，惟君與吾足矣”）之後，阿絮此時是全身心的放鬆與快樂。這段花絮視頻裡演員堅持把衣服拉下肩的樣子，突然讓我覺得特別感動。張哲瀚曬太陽那場戲，工作人員兩次幫他整理衣服，都被他又拽下來了。是他自己設計的掉肩！他那一刻就是周子舒。從坐姿到衣服，都是坦白後的放鬆！他真的好理解周子舒，他知道周子舒現在非常滿足非常開心非常舒適，所以他很放鬆的半脫著衣服曬太陽。他理解阿絮當時的狀態，那個時候他就是阿絮本人。周子舒真的很適合穿這種有點飄逸、柔軟、不太硬挺但又帶點粗糙的布料的衣服，有種飄零灑脫的天涯浪客之感。
導演：你們收斂點！
周子舒&張哲瀚：我就不。和知己曬太陽喝酒，瀟瀟灑灑，衣衫不整又何妨。他是真的覺得此時此刻的周子舒是放鬆舒適最該快意人生的狀態啊，繃緊了半生得之不易的這一刻自由和閒適，他不是在勾引男人啊！覺得用一個釣字真的辜負了演員那一刻的真心。釣只是周子舒的一種狀態，不是全部的現在。他現在就是快意的自己，只是幸遇知己的阿絮而已。一壺濁酒，敬知己敬餘生，放浪形骸快意人生，世人皆為名為利形色匆忙，而我偷得浮生半日閒又何妨。
衣服掉下來還有一個解讀角度是釘傷造成的消瘦：“再看自己那雙露在外面的枯瘦蠟黃的手掌，同樣枯瘦蠟黃的臉，周子舒也只得自嘲地搖頭。那快要被七竅三秋釘給抽乾了的身體，竟有些撐不起這衣服來了，像個骨頭架子搖搖欲墜地勉強頂著一塊布，自己都覺得自己這副尊容十分猥瑣，偶爾在鏡子裡看了一眼，便嫌棄得懶得再看第二眼，自覺真是穿上龍袍也不像太子。”--Priest《天涯客》第十八章洞庭。

@@angelinalim9413 对啊，剪进正片和看花絮的意义不一样。之前看花絮，张哲瀚和导演说我也喊三声老温吧，那三声老温叫得挺感人的，当时就觉得很遗憾正片里只喊了一声呢。现在觉得圆满了。也配合老温所说的：活着还有个人的名字给我这么叫着，挺好的。三声阿絮，换来阿絮的三声老温，多好啊，很动人心💕
“曬太陽”三個字，已經成為了山人們磕生磕死的暗號。只要說到這三個字，我們所能想到的，就是世界上最美好的愛情。
第一次出場：彼時，周子舒心氣已折，唯為了贖罪，日日酗酒吊著一口氣，過著乞丐般的落魄生活。旁人眼中的乞丐，溫客行掃一眼便知，他不是在要飯，而是在“曬太陽”。而橋頭的周子舒也聽到了他的話，他也感到，對方似乎有點意思。從一出場，他就是他的知己了。而後生生死死，歷經磨難，兩人感情日漸深厚，就有了12集名場面。
第12集特別版加了三聲“老溫”，還加了一句台詞。溫客行：快說，我都好奇死了。除了一目了然的好看，我在別人眼中是什麼樣啊！周子舒：傻樣！老溫一句“原來我是好人啊”，瞬間淚目，有種說不清的感覺湧上心頭😭特別牢籠內外那個鏡頭，我被感動到了，感動於老溫被愛人肯定的疏然暢快，安然自得，是從鬼谷爬回人間的明亮快意，所以他說，有一個人給這樣叫著（是那個懂他的，愛他的，也是他最愛的人）給太陽曬著（照見心中的黑暗，和自己的過往和解），真的很好。
“壞人放下屠刀尚可立地成佛，好人做了壞事就永世不得超生？沒這個道理。”通透的阿絮。
“我原來是個好人啊，不對，你錯了。我豈非是個好人，我乃溫大善人。”高興到模糊的老溫。“阿絮！”“叫魂吶。”此時兩個人已經確定彼此知己的身份了。兩個一無所有、一心赴死的人，遇到彼此之後，居然開始覺得，活著，還是不錯的吧。我想活著。我要活著。我要叫著他的名字直到他嗔怪著讓我住嘴，我要和他一起正大光明地站在這人間，和他一起曬太陽。很多人是被這一幕二人的情感互動所打動，我也是，但後來我更喜歡周子舒的那句，“壞人放下屠刀可立地成佛，好人做了壞事，難道就永世不得超生，沒這個道理。”兩個天涯孤魂，一個天真瘋癲一個溫柔自戕，並肩坐在太陽下，不言不語地彼此溫暖著的模樣，確實暖人。
阿絮的三聲老溫：一聲醒耳，二聲亮心，三聲暖魂。“喝酒了！”阿絮的燦然一笑~暖融融的~三聲老溫對應回答前面三聲阿絮，當你愛一個人的時候，有的時候你可能什麼都不會做，只想聲聲呼喚他的名字，看著他的反應，無論他做什麼都心生歡喜，就足以。名字是你們之間最美的告白。三聲呼喚之後，“我就是覺得，活著，給太陽曬著，還有個人的名字給我這麼叫著，真的挺好。”“是挺好的。”那句“是挺好的”，像從靈魂深處傳來，是張哲瀚和周子舒同時嘆了一口氣。天涯孤鴻，無根行客，他們之前經歷過多少苦楚掙扎，多少不堪回首，才有這樣溫柔繾綣心意相通的一霎那。兩人滿是傷痕的活著，幸好，幸好他們再次遇見了彼此，互相救贖。就算全世界都與你為敵，至少還有一人懂你。
那三聲阿絮和三聲老溫中未曾被說出口的愛意與柔情
他看著他，輕笑著叫“阿絮”，眼中說不清是真誠更多還是調笑更多，過半晌似乎下定了決心，起身繞過桌子向他走去。明明就在眼前，他卻刻意提高了聲音，一聲“阿絮”叫得明亮又堅定，直叫得對面那人有點恍了神，眼神流轉後才確定這人真的只是又叫了一聲自己的名字。
被微嗔“叫魂吶”似乎反而讓他更高興了，坐定後眼睛片刻都不離開那人的臉龐，似乎要在此時此地就把這人的樣子永永遠遠地刻在自己心裡，然後輕輕地叫了一聲，“阿絮”。
阿絮啊，你可明白這一刻我有多幸福？你可明白我多希望能夠放下我的執念和我父母的血海深仇，放下我佈置了這麼久的那盤棋，就跟你永永遠遠地曬太陽下去？阿絮啊，原諒我說不出口，但是你一定能從我的臉上看出來吧，你一定能從我喚你名字時的語氣上聽出來吧？
他看出來了，儘管他的視力一天不及一天；他也聽出來了，儘管他的聽力一日不如一日。那人的眷戀沒有實體，卻依然巨大而沉重，一瞬間幾乎將他掀翻，他慌了神，轉開臉支支吾吾搪塞過去了，那人卻似乎完全沒有註意到，只是在陽光下仰起了臉，臉上的幸福如幼童般單純而天真。那一瞬間他不忍了，就一回，就讓自己放縱一回，也讓他滿足一回吧。他嘆了一口氣，喊，“老溫”。
那人竟連眼睛都不睜，迷迷糊糊地回了個“嗯？”，彷彿他們是一對在自家門前曬太陽的老夫妻。他被逗笑了，被那人的難得的恬淡也被自己想像的場景，他壓低聲音讓自己的語氣帶上一絲嚴肅，再次叫道，“老溫。”
那人察覺到他語氣中的嚴肅，果然睜開眼睛轉過頭來說，啊？他乾脆傾身向前，卻在最後一刻完全放鬆地笑了起來，啞著嗓子說，“老溫”。
老溫啊，你的心意我感受到了，如果可以，我何嘗不想把此生託付給你？我何嘗不想讓這太陽永遠照在你我二人身上？只是，只是我行將就木，我怎麼忍心讓你心碎？但偏偏此時陽光如此美好，你又就在我眼前，我實在無法繼續壓抑，就讓我短暫沉醉在這一晌貪歡裡吧。
一聲聲阿絮讓他心尖發軟，他的人間可憐可愛，他不忍回應，更不忍不回應，一聲聲老溫讓他仰面小心翼翼接住了光，他的陽光如此勾人，哪怕讓他灰飛煙滅呢他也甘願，一個被光灼得刺眼，一個還半枯萎著，他們心房半敞半開，卻已被光燙得溫軟，在彼此的繾綣目光中徹底淪陷，無論風雨，歸途注定。我每次看到“是挺好的”都好想好想哭，那種帶著無限眷戀又遺憾的感覺，想著未來與他能如此刻一般，又因餘生有限而不敢想，也不敢想此刻還這樣高興的這個人，如果他知道了會怎麼樣，何其有幸能遇上他，又何其不幸是這個時候，然而如果不是這時，他們也不會成為知己了，大概就是命數吧。最後化為陽光下笑盈盈地一聲“喝酒啦！”多少柔情繾綣，千迴百轉，欲語還休。

Gong Jun and Zehan brought more traits n personalities to their characters. I have read the novel n I must say I like the drama adaptation more. This is the first for me. Evntho the series tried to dumb down the novel to 'bromance', they cant fool me. I saw more "I love u n I want u" feeling in this drama than the novel. WOH is a masterpiece.
The expressions of ZZH at 3:17 got me trembeling and butterflies in my stomach....

Probably the most beautiful scenes of the movie. Certainly one of the most happiest. I wish I could live in that place, right at the moment. To have someone for me to call spoke so much to his need to want to give his heart to Zhou. The way they look at each other, the soft tones of their voices. When Zhou says Lao Wen the first time “I’m calling you”the second time “can you hear my plea/ my heart, was like a song to his love, the third time saying “I love you”. They way he leans in to Lao to say it. saying it three times like it was the declaration of love. Gives me chills.
You can see that zhe han eyes really said everything. When he look at Lao Wen you can see "love" in his eyes. Zhou zhi su is not an expressive person but his eyes tells everything. And zhang zhe han can do that so beautifully. Sorry for my bad english, i really want to appreciate the actors that did so well on their characters. 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞 Thanks for YOUKU to upload this iconic scenes.
