I'm still loving my adventure into 2TC Byzantines and this is a particularly difficult match up for it. I'm improving little by little and I hope you enjoy following me along on the journey.
I’ve got an awful cast you could do me VS Delhi on canal. The battles are good the micro is bad 😂. Think I want to change from Japanese, what would you suggest? Byzantine?
Good battles and bad micro, sure you're not describing my games? Oh wait... My battles are bad too 😂 For new civ, i would say it depends what play style you want to go for. Aggressive or booming?
Every person that plays Byzantine has my respect, i remember how i played 40 Mins against bots to get to know this Civ. 40 Mins was not enough, tho. yD It felt really strong but it felt like having too much on my mind, so the enemy can hit Age 5 until i am ready to attack them. :< I dont really know if can say something helpful to these matches, tho it seems to me that you focus sometimes to much on your Eco, instead of saving some of the Miltary Units? At 18:54 when you switch back to miltary, there are some Units killed who you tried to retreat but didnt reunioned with your other Army. I know Idle time is bad, but i think withut losing them the fights afterwards could have been a little bit more to your favour. (Even tho the Eco of HRE was already booming with the relics, welp) Aaaaand i got the courage to make my placement Matches. :3 And every of them are waaay to boring to cast. (im so slow with all this Miltary stuff... .-.) The Game expects me to balance Eco, Military and Defenses at once? And than i should build a smith? You can be for sure that i forget to either build it or use it, lol.
Everyone has helpful tips, and I am happy to hear yours too. You are right that sometimes I go back to my eco and forget about my army and come back to find it devastated and that is definitely something I did in this game when I should have focused on the fight. Denying those relics is definitely something I need to focus on in my future matches against HRE when I am trying 2TC. Remember to do everything is amazingly difficult, but it's why I love the game. Even if I sweat the whole time XD
@@Amerath90 From my last Game, i really discovored how fun denying Relics can be if you just snack them before their noses, hehe. Tho i just learned this because of this Video how important it is to get atleast some of the relics, because of what a big advantage the enemy gets, when you just let them take it.
I am glad the video is helping you learn too XD Next time, I am going to use my military to deny relics and wall some off to slow them down. We'll have to see whether it works any better lol
@@Amerath90 I find walling them off soo hard. In my Match i had the Luck to be Aging Up first, while he tried to protect it with his Units, tho i just kited them away, while my Warrior Monk walked to the relic to snitch it. xD Im really interested how the next attempts fighting over the relics will pay out for you.
If you allow him to get all 5 relics that's the equivalent of 25 vills so that pretty much wipes out any advantage you get from the 2TC build. It also means he doesn't have to leave his base to mine gold until much later in the game making his economy tighter and less dispersed. He can then go Imp quickly and print vills non-stop with the Swabia and be ahead of you economically very quickly. Knowing he's going to do this it can be effective to get some horsemen onto the field camping the relics to prevent him from getting them. This will force him to make units thus slowing his progress.

Yeah I've seen his guides. He can drop a super fast TC, but I find the macro too complicated and tend to mess it up. So I go for slightly slower but simpler build
I think that you were pretty okay until you kept building spear and archer and the traders (instead of the MAA elite upgrade or Blacksmith upgrades). I know you were limited on gold but you shouldve been more on the map because he was in his base :) You tend to overmacro on wood in the later phases of the game (I watched multiple games :)). Also palatine school bonus: "Any time a Limitanei, Varangian Guard, Cataphract, or Cheirosiphon is trained, there is a 30% chance to also spawn the same unit at the Palatine School. " So try to make these units to make use if it.
At that point I was just trying to make units and had no gold so went for non gold units but they were really what I wanted. I def should hav been more on the map though, you are right. I do always overmacro to wood because later on my brain can't handle the macro and wood is easier to convert, but need to remember to keep checking on that. 2TC def makes it happen even more too. Yeah I know the palatine bonus but didn't really think it through fully. I should have gone for foreign engineering to make my mercs better and get siege that way, but my brain just said "palatine" and I went with it 😂 Overall if I had macrod better and not been smashed by his mangos, I could have taken it. I will do better next time 💪🏻
@@JobGoud Everyone at every level makes mistakes, it's just about making less, being more consistent and making the right choices. Decision making is one of the most important and hardest things to develop while your brain is overloaded with everything you have to do Kinda why I love the game so much 😂

That's exactly what I thought when I saw the game. You never face him at the relics, just stand there and keep your army in your base.

i's not sure if your aware but cracky has a very good 2TC build order
