For anyone curious about numbers, it adds up to healing 28% faster, recharging 17% faster, and an additional 14% damage reduction. The overall survivability provided by take a breather has gone up by about 65% from this buff.
@@asimplewizard going from 30% to 40% damage reduction means you go from taking 70% to 60% of regular damage. So you're taking 6/7 of the damage you would before, meaning it's a 14.3% (1/7) reduction.
at first I thought the rework was garbage but now, I genuinely think hog is in a good position right now. Not too oppressive but still should be feared.

@@iRamUrMother I disagree to an extent. Sure, Ana still takes an absolute shitter on Hog (so i really hope they look into changing her nade’s properties), that’s to be expected. However, the big issue other than anti nade was his potential against most tanks, which most of his matchups against them, he loses. The rework literally erased hard counters for Hog vs tanks and instead made them more of a soft counter. Additionally, this rework also addressed his inconsistency with secondary fire where you have to be in the perfect 10 meters to one tap someone, which was really hard to do consistently and happens more by accident. It does remove his poke potential but it makes him more scary just by the fact his damage is higher than it was pre buff.
The 3-2.5 change is actually a pretty good buff too I think. It means that you have better burst healing, because you heal 500 in 2.5 seconds… so basically 200 healing per second. Before it was only 150.
@@ioanliley7210 its a niche way to use it, that usually only is used if you got into deep shit and are trying to run away, more often the faster healing burst will be way more useful (and used) than the 0.5 seconds extra of damage reduction. better yet, the damage able to be mitigated is increased with the 40% buff, this is a net buff overall and is way better for what you were talking about than old hog aswell.
From that mercy hook to the end of the last point was so sick. I've been watching you play for so long on TH-cam but that might be my favorite minute of game play I've ever seen. Makes me want to dust of my controller and hog it up.
The thing is ... I can't play roadhog on every map anymore. He is a difficult pick on some maps and to make him work is hard. The trap is a bit weird because you need to plan out what and where you defend because the 10 second cooldown feels really long. He isn't as flexible with kills anymore.
The problem I foresee if they keep buffing Hog like this is that the enemy is going to become solely reliant on an Ana to anti him. He'll basically become unkillable without anti nade and he'll still be a giant bag of meat with it.
Thats why team comp matters alot. If they have an ana whos spamming antis/sleeps on hog, a kiri could counter, and potentially put ana in massive danger if shes in hogs LoS with no cooldowns
I played my first games with the rework today and I will say it's a lot of fun lol. Lots of burst dmg if you hook into your pig pen. And I feel like I'm doing a lot of Dmg with his primary fire. One thing that hasn't changed is the whole enemy team will hard counter you, as soon as you start rolling them at all 😂
I wouldn't say I like increasing his healing numbers. It will make him feed more and have higher heals than supports. they could have increased his dmg reduction to 50% which will make him better when he gets naded and then see if he needs more heals or not.
Until they change things like Ana Nade and Kiri Cleanse, Hog will still be defined by his obnoxious numbers, even if he's built better for the system now compared to before.
yeah I think u will heal more since you are staying alive a lot more than before + before u don't heal if your health is 620 for example but now you can heal it without being afraid of cool down
Nah this seems like way too much ngl. This is the problem with the balance team; why are they making so many changes instead of just buffing the small issues. In this case, there was no need to buff his healing. Honestly Hog would be mostly fine if hard counters like Ana and Zen didn't exist so it would be best to balance around Hog's weaknesses, in this case since antihealing and damage received is a problem, they should have just buffed his damage reduction. CD reduction and stuff I agree with since it affects everything but the culmination of healing, damage reduction and uptime is too much.
i feel like they are going to reduce the overall heal numbers and bring the DR back up. especially with all the moira mains getting mad at hog mains out healing them now.

I dunno, i know breather was too weak but buffing everything all at once(total healing, speed of it, recharge time and dmg reduction) feals a bit overkill. I think they should be a bit slower with those
Switch it at 0.25x You will see he pressed "shift" exactly where Ashe was, then he instantly drags the mouse to the right, I think this last movement may have confused you.
he's definitely a little overtuned right now, but i hope blizzard sits on this version of hog for a little bit before making any changes, especially because he'll just be a massive ult battery for mauga once he's live
I think the heal buff was needed, I would say reduce the healing a little bit, but otherwise just nerf his trap. I think the slow needs to go and you can keep the damage, or vice versa. otherwise strong tank. A tier.

Hog gives off a feelin none of the other tanks do the other tanks should always be fearful of a 700 hp that could heal himself hide behind a spot his only tank counter rn is himself It's sad when you see rein or Winston wanna play and they just get shit on and have no choice but to counter Double tank was better
@shorelinefishing9213 no they are not. Only few picks like bap, kiri and maybe antinade vs tanks specifically are too strong. Others are fine, some even underperform
I think to make it so you DONT need an Ana just to kill hog, make it so if Hog gets stunned or Mccree Grenaded, he cant heal for 2 seconds. Makes it so he still has that great healing but make it so it can be countered with abilities other than Ana nade.
You already don't need Ana to shut down Hog. Ana is just the most straightforward shutdown to hog. They probs need to wait and see how he does but this buff seems good for him. The changes suggested would gut the character.
Ima have to disagree. These are some bad changes. Hog was already bullshit before the rework but now bitch got traps smh. Meanwhile Doom has so many bugs that devs refuse to fix and they keep nerfing Doom.
Hog has been the 2nd worst tank only behind ball for a while now. Doom has gone up and down but overall has been playable for a good amount of time.. more so than hog lol.
This new hog rework is awful lmao, all it’s doing is making heroes like sojourn and Ashe so much better. With hogs walking around 1 shot heroes are becoming a nightmare to face. Fuck a movement hero now, it’s all about them 1 shots.

I love how the buffs turned him into a new Orisa but less oppressive haha now everyone can fear him, which is good! He is now a real tank for 5v5.
