Wow, I commend you!! You are such an inspiration to the younger kids, what you have done with your life is absolutely amazing!! It could be an honor if I could meet you. I also grew up with Lowrider in my life. I met my husband of 43 years now because of Lowriding! We also use to cruise Highland, in National City, CA. He was also in a car club named Korner. The name came from when the members would meet at this corner and from there I would get in my boyfriend's car, which is a 1948 Chevy. The car is still with us, runs and still has the hydraulics. My hubby bought when he was 15 from his uncle. Now my older son who is now 40 has Lowriding in his blood since he was little. Because of Lowriding, he opened up his business and its called BARRIO DOGG. The best Hot Dogs you will ever taste. It has been such a blessing to see my son as an owner of his own business. Every hot dog that they sell was created by my son. He took after his Nana as far as the cooking! He is an excellent chef!! He also owns a 1978 Monte Carlo. Wow, you brought back so many beautiful memories!! I wish you could come to San Diego, CA and visit my son's restaurant, its amazing! He brought Lowriding into the business with beautiful murals showing us Chicanos, and like you that we are smart, hard-working individuals that can make a difference to our society!! Again, I commend you and have great respect for you of what you have become today!! If you ever get a chance look up Barrio Dogg and you can see the amazing work that my son has created!! Lastly, my son is organizing a day when all of us old school can come together and organize a Hoppy contest!! I wish you the best!! Y que Dios te vendiga!!

However, we do not have any children but had we had some lowriding would have run in their blood like your sons. Congratulations to your son & you on his business. Wow. Angie Flores you have a great story. Your car is nice. But the part that touched me is that you overcame the "label" the teacher put on you. I admire you for teaching the K kids. I am a teacher and have taught all grades K-12. K is the most challenging (especially if you have #24 kids!) but yet very rewarding at the same time. I am best at high school and that is where I am currently. Hang in there and keep inspiring those kids!
