GUYS. I studied Hotel and Tourism management because of this game. I had no clue after high school what the fuck I want to do with my life, but I remembered how cool was this Hotel on the Blood Island, and because of that I entered to the hospitality industry. Later on I went to the Seychelles Islands for living/working for 6 months BECAUSE OF THIS GAME. My dream was to live on an Island. This game guys had a HUGE imprint on my life. I remember playing with this game as a 6-7 years old kid with the neighbour kid. We always helped each other whenever either of us found a new puzzle, he came over, or I went to his place and showed the way. Oh gossh How I love this game!!!! Even now at age 27 I'm studying spanish now and downloaded this game and finished it in spanish just to practice the language. Cheers all!!!

The atmosphere in this game is something breathtaking. Beautiful landscapes, different islands and places, music, puzzles, story, characters, humor, EVERYTHING in this game is perfect. I enjoy my time while watching this and going back to old times and good feelings and memories. Thanks for the video! (special thanks for no-commentary, beacuse it ruins the feeling).
Quite a cast for this project. Haggis is voiced by Alan Young, best known for voicing Scrooge McDuck in the 80s. The lemonade stans kid was voiced by Gary Coleman. The flying Welshman was done by Tom Kane who voiced Yoda in Star Wars Clone Wars. The tarot card reader was voiced by the late great Kathleen Freeman.
It is so sad noone decided to shoot this somehow, this isnt just a game… beautiful story, amazing graphics, lovely music, creative characters and speechs, and of course adventure!!!
i’m currently watching all the games in order and this is 3rd going in order. Still a very big fan of 1 & 2’s animation style when they remastered the games. This game i had actually played rather than watched on your channel, and i do say that is maybe even better after watching the series.
Never played Curse of MOnkey Island. I had MI2 the old one and Escape from MOnkey Island. This looks the best though. The cartoon graphics are awesome.
First played this as a 6 year old. Let me tell you that made it very hard since I didn't know half the complex words (insult swordplay was a hell of a challenge) but now that I've played the first 2 games I HAVE to question how the nod of monkey Island 2 relates to the intro to this one... love the game though first game I ever played

I'm not sure what you mean by a "new" version? The game is available for modern PCs from GOG.com and Steam. But there isn't a remake or anything like that.
You have never truely experienced this game or other older adventure games without the original 20+ options you had to click. (Give, take, talk, use, pickup, etc). This is easy mode IMO. Still fun, but only 3 options really. Then again, Some of you probably never had to choose from more than three options. Easy mode.
This is the same attitude that some sierra fans had of LucasArts games when they first arrived on the scene. It's not a real adventure game because you can't die. You aren't a real adventure fan unless you like games with dead-ends. LucasArts games are too easy. Look, I prefer adventure games from the era of verbs too. But your preferences are not an excuse to lord it up and act like you are superior because of the games you've played. Not on my channel. This is your only warning.
Unless its released as normal on steam they probably wont do what they did for the first 2 as the tech used to remaster doesnt work on the 3rd game for obvious reasons
Before the internet we had magazines and cover disks so not only was there still reviews but you got to play a demo of a game before you bought it, it is rare to see that these days because most games are unpolished messes at launch. Admittedly games are a million times more complex these days and far harder to test for all bugs.
@@krashd donno about your place, but here the magazines with reviews came a month after the games were on shelves. So there was indeed the element of surprise when buying a new game. Yeah, demos sometimes were available earlier than the full game.

That game is very close to sheer perfection. An absolute timeless gem, which still looks, sounds and plays marvelously well 25 years after its release.
No one who saw 'Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge' would say that :) But where the graphics sux, the story makes up for. I prefer 3D myself. but the story is interesting, i'd' still watch regardless.
Still my favorite of the Monkey Island games. I feel like all of the places in this game are fully realized. Every character, and every little gag built the world up. If feels like like a living world with history.

This game is the epitome of nostalgia to me. One of the very first games i ever played when i didnt have games of my own, it was my stepdads. I played this game so many times its not even funny, but i havent played in probably 10-15 years. Even just running my mouse along the bar and seeing the frozen images for later on all brought back goo memories and waves of nostalgia. Will enjoy watching this big time.
Funny cause so many people here say its nostalgic for them because they played it as kids, I first played this game back in 2011 and I still look back on that time very nostalgically, there was nothing better than coming home after a bad day as an intern teacher and relaxing on Monkey Island

@@Humanophage I wouldn't call it a downgrade, it's full of effects impossible to make with the Curse's art style. Plus it's more similar to the first ones made by Ron Gilbert and company. The Curse was made by other people, still a great chapter though.
Even 15 years later I can picture almost every scene in the game from memory because they are each a work of art. The 3D sequels that came after this one with reusable assets are missing that personality that gives each scene it's own memorable identity.
I think it was actually a game of its time. It's just that the games in 1997-2002 were really good (then the console invasion happened and destroyed PC games).

Hmm. I still think it’s 2-1-3, with the first two debatably interchangeable. But third is third to me. And the fourth is fourth... a distant fourth too.
Probably goes 2, 1, 3 for me, although that might only be because of my own nostalgic feeling for the first two. I only just played the third one for the first time recently, and was SO pleasantly surprised at how good it was (I thought it might have just been a cheap sequel with no thought put into it). Understandable that the third is your favourite!
