The Deluxe is one of my favorites as well!! Enjoyed the video! You know a person has always (for the past 70+ years) been able to walk into a car dealership and order the model of car they wanted and select all the available options desired. I've never been able to understand why you can't go into a motorcycle dealership and order just exactly which model you want and choose all the factory options you want, and it comes from the factory with just what you wanted. Thanks for sharing your "life experience" thoughts. Keep the shiny side up... jp
I have this bike in vivid black and let me tell you it is SWEET. I love the 50s look with the white walls. One thing to be aware of is, that shocked me the most, is it doesn't have that classic Harley shake. It is smoothe as a cucumber. Some people like it others dont. Put some slip ons on it and all that goes out the window. It is a head turner. And like you said no slouch in power. As a matter of fact, it's pretty damn fast. I may be biased because I own one but man it's amazing. You're looking at about 300-350$ a month for one of these if you finance. Worth every penny. I love it to the moon and back. Awesome video. Thumbs up for me. P.s highway sucks without a windshield but personally I like feeling the breeze. And making a pass is smooth as butter
I ramble in my head while riding quite often. We get to hear yours! Nicely done! Kudos for being patient in that 4 way stop..safe is better than rushing through and getting splattered by a 2 ton car, or that big ole bus.
Man, im leaning towards the softail heritage. I see this bike as almost the same, but without windshield, and saddlebags. Also, the option for the 114. Im upgrading from a Honda rebel 500, so im going big this time around. The Honda was my first motorcycle, and till this day love it. im just in the mindset of just get the bigger motor, so you know its kind of future proof.
I did just the same, my first bike was a 2000 Honda Shadow VLX 600. it was a great bike, I rode it for 4 years, then I had to upgrade to a 2005 Softail Standard. I'm digging the looks of these new Softail Deluxe bikes.
I have a deluxe and absolutely love it! This bike will grow on you. I got a driver backrest, windshield, highway pegs, bags, and a detachable trunk, along with a big kuryakyn bag that sits on the queen seat. I can fit everything I need with room to spare and I kick back and its like riding down the road in your favourite recliner chair. The bike handles well and is nimble enough for city riding, or to go tour America. (Canada in my case) It handles the Canadian rockies all loaded like a dream! To each their own, but this is the nicest Harley ever IMO. Great vid by the way!
Chief, LOVE the two-tone midnight crimson/red color combo. It's a member of the Softail family. They stopped the Deluxe model in 2020. I, also, want to get it in WHITE. Outside of that I have to get it in the Heritage Classic" model. Great job in your presentation, keep up the great work! Doug🏍️🐻🤓⭐👍
love the DELUXE version, it does make one feel like they are in the post era. i dig the music from the LP wide album, very swank ! i believe that is the first i have ever heard of someone using old skool teck to play music from. really kool ! awsome video !! 1000 thumbs up !
what you are saying is that you can push the power out of the 114 but in normal riding conditions it isn't really needed anyway. I agree. I have a 2015 103 with stage 1 and it works perfectly for me. Certainly when I get on a 107 or 114 there is more power that I don't really need anyway, There will never be a replacement for displacement but you just find the bike that fits you and go ride.
I like the wording..."near life experience " also like the positivity u portray. In a society full of negative people n actions. it is awesome it channel is growing it looks like.
I'm familiar with rawhide, but at the very beginning of the video on my phone it looks exactly like their dark cherry they use to use. I was wishing they brought that color back. It's an awesome color.
What a great video. You share the same passion as me for these nostalgic classic looking Harleys. I like how you inserted your still photos into this video. Greta editing. I'm subscribed brother. Looking forward to checking out your other vids.
The reason you don’t feel the change from the 114 back to 107 is because of the difference in bike weight. The deluxe is a much lighter bike than the Heritage 114, if indeed that’s the 114 you’ve ridden.
I rode my 2016 on several long trips, to include VA to ID (twice putting >1,000 miles nonstop). It was a joy to ride! You can put bags on. I prefer strapping duffle bag on back to keep the minimalist look, but to each their own.
The bike is gorgeous even with the brown like you said! I dont like brown but man it grew on me instantly! I love the whole look if the bike. Thank You for taking us for a ride👍
Got an 18 in Jan just as it came to dealers. Brown/Silver, no extras. It’s my modern daily driver. The M8 is the engine Harley needed 10 years ago but tubeless tires would be nice.
Why are most concerned about new price? I have the Heritage Classic...it’s an 09...but it’s been babied since new. I paid $13000 cdn. It has been an awesome purchase. New is nice but if $ is an issue...buy pre owned....the deluxe and classic are awesome bikes.
Oh I don't doubt that, as I would be to. Out of the softails I had a chance to test ride the Fat Boy and Fat Bob, but would have loved to check out the Deluxe and Low Rider as I find myself very drawn to them as well. You're right about the Deluxe having a classic fifties look. I'm guessing it can be set up with a passenger seat if you desire?
I don't mind the smooth air when there is no windshield, actually I prefer it over a fairing. Personal preference, but it does suck when the air gets mixed up on the highway by other vehicles on the road. Stay away from trucks, lol.
You don’t get buffeting from a lack of a windshield you get helmet “buffeting” from air coming over a windshield or from under a fairing what you get with no windshield is wind slamming you in the chest which is often fatiguing on longer rides
Good stuff. I have the 2016 --same red color as in your vid and love it. Put 30k on it first 2yrs to include a trip from VA to ID via Sturgis (excellent on long trips). How does the 2019 compare to the '16 model you rode?
Very close comparisons with the 19 having much needed ground clearance. The 19 also has a little more power, I prefer the twin cam 103 tho. 😁 Just preference, My streetglide has the M8 and my Bob has the 103. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
What music is that? I like it. Beautiful bike, like most of the new soft tails are too. Only problem...too much money! Will have to stick to my 48, thats beautiful too. Thanks.
Nope. (It does make sense) cuz’ the 107 is snappier ..a hair quicker to rev~up. Cam that 107 w’ an S&S (475?) 🚀 Anyway, it rocks & lopes & pops.. it’s really great 😊
I totally agree but couldn’t you take the light bar with the heritage and the round signals and put it on the deluxe I have a deluxe and was looking into if that was possible
So you're saying that while the 114 is more powerful, the 107 isn't lacking for torque & power, right? I heard a lot of people say that a backrest not only keeps you from sliding into the rear fender, it also helps mitigate (to some extent) the lack of a windshield. It's true about the Deluxe and Heritage looking like slow poke bikes. Of course, the positive of that is not every kid with a Camaro or Ninja wants to drag race you. And frankly, there's not many better combos then a Deluxe and a restomod '57 Bel Air in someone's garage :-) As usual, thanks for take us along on a near life journey. RSMF
Now that's my kind of scooter. Just as one might expect If you hadn't rode a 114 the 107 would have been real torquey and fast enough. Beautiful bike. Rubber side down and let the miles roll on.
Why doesn't H-D discontinue the 107? With all the emphasis on the 114, the 107 now appears to be the lackluster step child in the line up. Why would a customer buy old technology when the future is centered on another engine?

Wow! You have over 19 thousand views in just a week! Who says nobody likes chrome or a classic Harley cruiser anymore. Of course, it does help when the guy giving his impression projects honesty, positivity and humor. Just "you do you" and you'll give Shawn Smoak a run for his money ;-)
You can do it! And don't be afraid to occasionally use his trademark of pointing out to an empty horizon and saying, "and yonder is Mt. St. Helen." I personally think that he's pulling our legs half the time he says that :-)
Enjoyed your video. The 2014 Deluxe almost ended up in my garage, Pearl White. Man that was a beautiful bike. But I went with the 2014 Indian Chief Classic,. Red. The Deluxe is one sexy motorcycle. Ride Safe.
Despite the engine capacity, this 2019 not much different from the previous Softail Deluxe model, except for some minor cosmetic changes. Makes no difference to buy the new 2019 softail deluxe. The previous one should be more than enough. This unit still does not have the water cooled radiator which is not good for daily short distance ride especially in hot countries like South East Asia or Middle East regions.
I'm looking for the same thing... near life experiences cuz most of life is getting same old same old. Since I don't have children I'm searching for something of equal satisfaction.
Not ramblings. You do not ramble. Reflections, maybe. Thoughts, maybe. Maybe even meditations. But, ramblings, never. I like the Deluxe too. It's just plain beautiful to look at. Before I bought the Heritage, I thought of buying the Deluxe and getting detachable bags, pillion, cruise control, windshield, etc. but that would have cost me about $2000 more, so I chickened out. I second-guess that decision all the time.
You can't ride a bike for 2 minutes & determine whether its comfortable or not unless it was an ergonomic nightmare like a customer chopper ....do you really even ride ?
I sure can, I DO ride. That's how I know. Besides, it's all just a joy ride ABB 4323, not a review. Sorry you didn't find value in this video. Thanks for watching though, for 2 minutes.
The 107 falls on its face to fast the 114 is a up and go but it does have sump pump problems on some of them. Like I said some of them. Just wish Harley Davidson was more American made like in the older days. To bad Harley set them to only run at 125 mph . The old carb bikes would run faster with ease. Granted a nice looking bike.
Heck my 1982 Suzuki GS 850 GL rolls around 148 top end I had to keep it I've owned her since highschool lol. Now I roll with comfort and still crank up the power
2019 prices are overpriced. They lost the baby boomers n what young person can afford with rates increasing. I was sticker shocked. Good luck in Thailand.
Most beautiful bike ever...
You are NOT overstating it.
A jewel on wheels.
I've always admired the HD Softail Deluxe. I love the looks of the bike. Hoping to have one in summer of 2020.
The Deluxe is absolutely beautiful & nostalgic. My favorite. Have it in teal & white

Just bought a 2019 FLDE, with 498 miles this month (Dec 2024) crazy smooth comfortable & way to much power.

I really like the Rawhide color. Deluxe is a favorite. Gorgeous! Love the new turn signals and LED lighting.

I will have one this year. I feel the same way you do about this baby and...
I always will.
This Root Beer "RawHide" color is growing on me !! I love this color on this bike model and especially the Fat Boy !

Like the Ride reviews. Gives us a bit of Harley flavor for the other models. Thanks
Thanks!

Just bought me a beautiful electric blue 2018 Deluxe. Thanks for the great videos.
Electric Blue Deluxe.
I would want to just stare at it.
When I'm not riding it !!!
The bars look so comfortable....any1 know what colour the bike is and if this colour is still available in 2021??thanks for the video kind sir!!!
Is that color dark cherry? If so H.D doesn't make that color in 2019. At least it isn't listed on their website.
No its brown, Harley calls it Rawhide.
I'm familiar with rawhide, but at the very beginning of the video on my phone it looks exactly like their dark cherry they use to use. I was wishing they brought that color back. It's an awesome color.

Another bad ass bike. I’m glad your riding these bikes. Can’t wait to see what you get me for Christmas lol. Ride on ride safe

sweet lookin bike but how come hd is doing away with the heel toe shifter? i'd miss that.
Got a 2017 blue Deluxe, definitely like its style and smooth ride! cheers!

No problem
Looked at a 2019 the same color the other day. Beautiful. I want it.
Am I right in thinking this 'cruiser' capable of covering distances in comfort could also be a touring delight … but can't be accept bags?
I rode my 2016 on several long trips, to include VA to ID (twice putting >1,000 miles nonstop). It was a joy to ride! You can put bags on. I prefer strapping duffle bag on back to keep the minimalist look, but to each their own.

Great review on a beautiful Harley. My fave
Riding buddy (24yrs old) bought a gorgeous Red/Black 18! Sweet bike, if you get near Tuscaloosa let me know!......Ride hard or stay home😎
Will do, thanks! Something about the Deluxe, man.
My favorite harley period!
Its top 3 for me for sure. Super sweet. Thanks for watching, cool name!
The music was good too. Matched well with feeling you were feeling.
Sometimes its hard to select the right music, I got lucky this time. Thanks for noticing!

Gotta have the windshield man. Highway pegs don't help.
Great! Now you got me thinking about buying a Deluxe...…..
I know, I got MYSELF thinkin bout it too. Cant tho, #triumphscrambler2019
Get one
No wind shield- how was that ? Lot of buffeting? I always liked the Deluxe -
I don't mind the smooth air when there is no windshield, actually I prefer it over a fairing.
Nothing like following an empty dump truck down the interstate.
Gets old in seconds.

48's rank in my top 3 best looking bikes.
Deluxe
Bonneville Bobber
Sportster 48
Beautiful bike....But I think Harley cheapened the new Deluxe and the Twin Cam engine sounds much better than the M8.
I agree the twin cam just sounds sooo good!
The new engines have a whirely sound when you rev !!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Great Review... Beautiful Bike.
Thanks for watching!
Nicely done Sweet ride
Thanks!
The Deluxe is about $500 off 30k in Australia. Bit out of my price range. Pity, as it's my ultimate bike.
really that much? Here in Canada they are $22,500 starting price in CAD dollar which should be close to the AUS dollar is i?
Nope. (It does make sense) cuz’ the 107 is snappier ..a hair quicker to rev~up. Cam that 107 w’ an S&S (475?) 🚀
Anyway, it rocks & lopes & pops.. it’s really great 😊
Did 140km on my newly delivered deluxe yesterday ... did 20km on my vstar classic today .. wts vstar classic 🤣
I love the Softail Deluxe! But, why in the world did Harley change the turn signal lights???? Should’ve kept the round signals!
Also, they should NOT have eliminated the chrome rail behind the seat! Harley designers out of touch with their brand!
I totally agree but couldn’t you take the light bar with the heritage and the round signals and put it on the deluxe I have a deluxe and was looking into if that was possible
DO YOU HAVE the H/P and TORQUE NUMBERS ?
I don't, I'm certain that you can find that on Harley Davidson's website, Google as well.
OK, THANKS
@Ticky Tocky 😂
So you're saying that while the 114 is more powerful, the 107 isn't lacking for torque & power, right? I heard a lot of people say that a backrest not only keeps you from sliding into the rear fender, it also helps mitigate (to some extent) the lack of a windshield.

Stage 2 will be ok i was just wondering what they were using far as a torque cam !!! With a stage 4 i would just tear shit up
@@rickyharvey4835 lolol yeah me too. one day maybe. 🤙
A killer sleeper Deluxe.
Now that would be too cool.
Despite the engine capacity, this 2019 not much different from the previous Softail Deluxe model, except for some minor cosmetic changes.
Makes no difference to buy the new 2019 softail deluxe. The previous one should be more than enough. This unit still does not have the water cooled radiator which is not good for daily short distance ride especially in hot countries like South East Asia or Middle East regions.
old gran pappy bike does it come with a bottle of Geritol lol
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I chose this for it's classic look, sound and low CG. Came down to this or BMW...Softail hands down.
Iron American Dream on TH-cam.
A song about Harley Davidsons and American heritage.
Ill check it out!
Don't you feel bored driving on such an empty road?😃
Yes, so bored. 😋
Northwest Arkansas has a lot of "boring" roads.
All roads should be so boring 😄

@@scrapeyhawkins5299 Dont know what its like where you liv....yes, yes you should.
I live just south of Daytona....... it ain't all that great even during bike week
@@scrapeyhawkins5299 Right on, if you do move to Ar, let me know if you need a roommate. 😁
Oh, those badges. Bike porn, pure bike porn. I can't t wait until the spring.
😆 True.
So cool bike, and great platform for vickla /cholo /chicano builds.
Harley Davidson #1 motorcycle in the world.
I'm looking for the same thing... near life experiences cuz most of life is getting same old same old. Since I don't have children I'm searching for something of equal satisfaction.
Welcome to the channel! Stick around, positivity here.
Will do. I like your style
Lol thanks for the reassurance. Make no mistake though, the decision you made on the heritage was warranted. Ride of the year, last. 👍
I can't stand the new turn signals.
Not loud enough for me 😒 I'll stick with my dyna 😎
You can't ride a bike for 2 minutes & determine whether its comfortable or not unless it was an ergonomic nightmare like a customer chopper ....do you really even ride ?
I sure can, I DO ride. That's how I know. Besides, it's all just a joy ride ABB 4323, not a review. Sorry you didn't find value in this video. Thanks for watching though, for 2 minutes.
Badges? I don't need no stinkin' badges.
Lol
The 107 falls on its face to fast the 114 is a up and go but it does have sump pump problems on some of them. Like I said some of them. Just wish Harley Davidson was more American made like in the older days. To bad Harley set them to only run at 125 mph . The old carb bikes would run faster with ease. Granted a nice looking bike.
I cant imagine going 125 on anything.
Thanks for watching, and for the comment!
