A friend and I did the same four blind on Saturday, and I was 100% the opposite of you (Larceny, Bulleit, Old Forester 1920, and JD Single Barrel). My friend order went Old Forester, Larceny, Bulleit, JDSB.
I love it when I see JD SBBP win these tournaments. On my last whiskey run I put back the OF 1920 since I already had 5 other bottles. I regret my decision. Cheers.

It was so much better after airing out. 2. Barrel Proof bourbon is so difficult to judge in groups of four. My palate needed a break way too often. I just couldn't taste well enough after a couple sips of the first two. Maybe my sips are too much. 3. I like high rye bourbons. I keep finding that sweet spot in high rye mashbills. 4. Six ounces of BP bourbon makes the day cheery after starting with three ounces of Evan Williams single barrel to open up. I think I may have to limit my palate adjuster a little more on these blind flights. Cheers!
Before skipping to the end, my order was JD and OF as my top 2. I thought Bulliet would come out last until you said what batch Larceny was. JD though, always hits the spot and is always available. Great lineup. Cheers
Great series Chris! Excited that 1920 made it through. My go to multiple times a month. A little worried that the shorter finish might not let it go deep in the bracket with the higher proofs. Cheers!
Yeahhh buddy! I’m worried 1920 didn’t hit #1, but who knows. All blinds are different. I’m really second guessing not advancing JD later on. I should’ve done both 1920 and JD again. We’ll see what happens!
Haven't seen the end of this yet, but I'm pulling for Larceny BP and JD SB BP. JD, I do get the banana hints, but to me it's the sweetness, like eating the crust off a creme brulee. I've had two bottles and I didn't find them that hot...maybe there's some bottle variance. And Larceny...I've tasted it side-by-side with a store-pick Weller Full Proof, and honestly I find Larceny at LEAST as good (though admittedly, the Weller lives in the looong shadow of my expectations for it...)
It had just a slight bit more what tasted like rye spice and the finish was so long probably due to the proof. It was so hard to choose off camera, honestly probably depends on my mood

Happy to see Old Foresters 1920 my favorite bourbon to date move on and also happy to see Jack Daniels Barrel proof which I also agree is super underrated and one I recommend to everyone but with a warning with that high proof.😂. Awesome job Chris! Cheers!🤙
For sure Chris! That tells you the quality of the juice when it can compete with true full proof bourbons and beat them easily in my opinion. JDBP, it definitely burns but what s good burn it is. It's definitely not for the faint hearted and it will put hair on your chest. 😂
Sorry Man, You started this video off saying "No Unicorns, Findable on the Market" But then you have Stagg Jr, Larceny Barrel Proof, and a few others that you'll never find if you don't know someone, or have some kind of hook up.
Depends on the place I guess. I found lancent bp on the shelf. I agree stagg Jr I rslaly have to search for. What I meant by that was barrel proofs like george t stagg, William ladue weller, etc.
Not that surprising to me. The two bourbons that I've scored highest for myself are the JDSBBP and 1920, and while probably in that order... I scored them the same. Which one I like better depends more on the day than the bottle. Equally fantastic IMO - and both available without hunting for within $5 of one another in my market.

Results are what I might have predicted. Both 1920 and JD are excellent. It took me a bit to warm up to Larceny barrel proof but I now enjoy it.

Just tried Rare Breed for the first time the other day and was blown away at how good it was. Nice and oily. Carmel,Vanilla,spicy delicious.
