  • In this video I test the handling characteristics of the “Cheapest Traxxas Slash” Project. I wanted to see how the vehicle would handle and maneuver after installing the High Speed Gearing in combination with the Preload Clips on the front and rear shocks. Does it handle any better with the changes I’ve made?...I also jump the Slash in this video as well!

    Hi Nolan, I hope you're well.
    Try moving the lower part of the rear shock position closer to the wheels. Traxxas manual, number 5 hole of the lower arms. Hole 1 is closest to the diff and 5 closest the wheel.
    Just do that to the rear and you will get a bit of sideways slide action and less roll over.
    Regarding a locked rear diff or spool, only for straight line racing or high power drifting.
    Do the sway bar kit before you try a lcg chassis kit for a cheaper option to improved handling. That applies to a track or laps of somewhere.
    Keep the action going & some more x maxx vids please. ☺

    When you get up to that point they make a sealed differential made of aluminum that takes 200,000 mil. weight lube and it will help with your 2wd traction problems wile still allowing a little slip required for turning ; can be used on 2wd Sash or 2wd Stampede

    I put 1 1/4 silicone ear plug did not clean it out. It leaves it slightly loose. Night and day difference. You can spin one wheel (by hand) slowly and the other will rotate opposite direction then speed up the rotation and it locks. Not completely I will add but also will not dump power to the free (inside) wheel. I've had zero issues from this thing. Best 200 bucks I've spent in a long while

    • @RCKnockout
      @RCKnockout  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have used the ear plug method before with mixed results. I’d probably try to find a different fix before I do that again....but thanks for the tip! 👍😉

      well I do use 1/inch volume spacers in my shocks but they are proline
      but it's more of a track ich truck
      on my son's slash 4x4 I did try the spring spacers and we felt like it wasn't really better
      so we just swapped the springs managed to fit the red one from proline and 40vol oil in there
      so far so good and made a uge difference
      i wanted to keep a good ground clearance on is cz he bash the thing like it's an xmaxx lol
