  • I go to New Jersey every year during Summer time. I usually ride dh bikes in Mountain creek every single day but on the days I don't, I like to go into New York City. There's always something fun and exciting going on. My go too transportation is my bike and my route is starting from the New Jersey side crossing the George Washington Bridge riding all along the Hudson River right into the heart of the City, Times Square. I have done this ride so many times that it's become a breeze, one that I enjoy a lot but I was feeling up for a challenge. I wanted to challenge myself to something that I felt was impossible for me. I tried this last year and Failed!!! So this year I came back for redemption. I wanted to see if I could actually run the same route from New Jersey to Times Square, a total of 40,000 steps / 20 Miles. I knew this was going to be hard. And I even knew there was a slight chance I wasn't going to complete it. My last year's attempt was miserable, I was so tired and it got so dark by the time I made it to the City that I had to take the subway back home. The feeling of attempting something hard is what I love. Just the act of bringing yourself to do something that seems impossible is already an accomplishment in itself. So, to actually successfully finish the task is an even greater feeling. With this video Id hope to inspire you to get out and challenge yourself. We all need a good challenge in our life once in a while. Stay motivated =)
Thank you for watching and stay tuned for biking adventures and more.

Motivational Speaker Heather! Imagine telling the story you feel so passionate about in elementary schools. Or high schools. Or as a keynote speaker for a corporate gathering. Oh, and - 20+ miles is nothing to sneeze at! Well done!

Great video! I've been running in 6 mile sessions for some cross training. My coach when I was younger always wanted me to do hill sprints once a week, and 2 runs but as the years have gone by I hear his voice lol but I seldom do it. But the last month been running 3-4 times a week. It was awful, painful at first, now I'm enjoying it and today I took my running shoes into town instead of my bike.

Heather great motivation to keep going to achieve your goals. I am a 69-year-old man living in Ellicott City MD and I am going to ride the Erie Canal trail next week from Buffalo to Albany NY 360 miles in 6 days. 60 a day will be long days in the saddle, but I am going to crush it.
    Your videos are awesome.

ALways push yourself -- and most importantly appreciate what your body can do. I would LOVE it if I could still run or even walk for a mile. Arthritis has robbed my ability to do those things, but I can still ride my bike... and do.

I haven't watched your video yet, (I am going to 🙂 ), but I used to walk 35.000-40,000 steps a day for my job. It was hell on my feet for awhile, because also I had to wear steel toe boots. Summers were brutal. I did get used to it though. I am retired now 😊
