I knew you had it in you. !!! Congratulations Olivier! You know there are going to be a lot of people who will not like this interpretation..... Nevertheless, what's important is that you gave life to this work, and might I say a little romance, love, intimate love, forgiveness, thanks, remembrance. Your love did this dear Olivier, YOU.... brought this work back to Life. Wow. God damn. Ch. USA.
Superbe!
Encore bravo.
Truly stunning!! I was moved to tears of joy by Olivier's sublime interpretation of my favourite Franck organ work. Vincent's superb camera-work matches perfectly all the moods of this beautiful Priere (prayer). One word can sum up everything we see & hear during these precious 13.5 minutes - LOVE. Deo gratias; Christ is risen; Alleluia!
The pérfect trinity.....1) Oilvier Penin 2) His majestic, unsurpassed beautiful organ and 3) The world’s móst gifted videographer, Vincent Hildebrandt!!! Thank the two of you soooo much, we can use such outstanding musical beauty in difficult times such as this one.......Looking forward to the next Sainte Clothilde release!!!!

He did... didn't he? Me too. I think... whatever Olivier is going through at this point in his life, is for some reason hidden from most of us. But it will, nevertheless, prove to be of great value to us all. Technical excellence and love... radiate their own kind of light and can never be imitated or forgotten. But in some degree it has been recorded. Blessings in the Seasons of Lights. Charles of Hollywood, USA.
Thank you for a truly beautiful interpretation. Some very imaginative videography too - the rotating camera perfectly reflected the ecstatic swirling nature of the music at that magical moment in the piece.
Olivier...another mesmerizing performance. As I sat listening and watching, I wanted to suggest the Durufle Suite #5. I would really like to enjoy the magic you all would create. I appreciate the use of the keyboard positioned in front of the organ as you have it. Such a much better experience than when trapped on the main organ keyboard, having your hearing challenged. Music flows through you, sir, and it's a joy to behold. Your production team is superb. Such an asset to music and to us. God bless.
This was presented to us with great love. "Yea," on your entire production crew. Olivier, you're riding upon a tremendous wave of excellence. Congratulation on the whole bunch of you guys. And who was that face hovering above the pipes? Was that Franck? Blessings in the Season of Lights. from moi, in the USA. living in Hollywood.
If I had written a monumental piece of music, I'd feel honored when a performer would put his own spin and interpretation on it. "Here it is, have some fun with it." Hell for a French Chef would be cooking the same Coq au vin, or Boef Burg. for all eternity. Cam Carpenter's performance of the Dupre B Prelude and Fugue clearly displayed and enunciated the structure of the music, so that I could understand it much better, but he got all sorts of crap from the thumbs downers. PS, when I grow up I want to dress elegantly like French people! Notice the cuffs of the jacket.
@Geoff G I did bud, that's why I recorded it the way I see fit. I'd be happy to see your recording the way you see it as well. I'm free to express my opinion, as are you :).
@Geoff G The thing is, though, if they bothered to include something in a video, it means they probably thought it artistic. If artistic decisions are indicative of overall philosophy (in this case, showmanship and surface-effect), then I disagree with the philosophy. This manifests itself not only in the visuals, but in the playing. Penin is a good organist, but I find his approach to this piece far too extroverted.

Bravissimo , Maestro! The work of the cameraman is outstanding!!!

Merci maestro.
A beautiful rendering of a fantastic composition. The photography is just superb. Thank you for an excellent product!

Thank you for this beautiful and thrilling interpretation of a Franck masterpiece. Excellent camera-work. 👍 ❤️

This the ideal tempo!! Olivier is one of the greatest organists of our time.
Thank you so much!
Absolutely!
Beautiful playing.

The console in the nave is a Hauptwerk - a glorified toaster. why does a church like Ste=Clotilde have to use such a device???????
Marvellous Oliver
Thank you very much!
My favorite Franck organ work. And one of his most difficult. Utter masterpiece. I could do without the 32 at the climax though.
Merci cher Olivier simplement magnifique.
Magnífica interpretación, y magnífico Olivier Penin
Muchas gracias 🙏
Thank you so much!!!
Vincent, your camera work and editing are getting quite exotic. Keep up the good work!
yes I've never seen something like that as well, such a great work!
Thank you very much!
Very poetic!
Bravo, it was a poetic rendering of one of Cesar Franck's deepest works.
Thank you very much!
Wonderful

Love the videography on this!

We see and hear here problably the bést living organist at work.......

Sumptuous
Thank you very much!
Sehr gut..
Danke!
I thought that Cesar Franck died in 1890...not 1889??
Sorry, it's a typo :(
I love everything about this perfermance .....but the cameraman needs to hold the camera still and not circle around M. Penin. It's very distracting.
No, it is a beautiful work of the cameraman….
Jesus christ I'm dizzy....7:40 gave me a headache. Just play the music and make the production less artificial. Make it about the music, not you.

gyrating camera work.during the recitatives left me giddy and I had to turn the screen off. detracted from a wonderful performance
absolutely not!

It is sad to hear this on the gadget infested wreck of Cesar Francks organ.
Have you heard this work played on the main console at the back of the church? And, if so, how does this performance upset you?
He used only original C-C stops as much as possible...
also, all the original pipes from CC were preserved during the years. So, even if it's been modified, it's still Franck's organ
