Try this on a Cauliflower, nip the very to tip, I've done it several times, it has made some smaller heads on the side shots, similar to Broccoli. They just want to live. I do this when I have to many seeded starts, as I start my seeds Oct 1 as I did last week, the heat was crazy, so now I'm watering every 2 hrs. But they popped up in 4 days, carrots, parsnips might be thin.
The heat and himidity is crazy today in Yuma AZ. Its 110 right now 😅 but i started conditioning my cucumbers and peppers the pther day THEYRE READY lobe your video's
Hi! I’m in Chandler. This year is still crazy hot! I haven’t planted anything yet! I’ve kept the sweet potato vine in. I hate waiting so long! Are you really planting this soon?
Hi - I really did plant all of this when I filmed the video over a week ago (during that cool spell). Most things are growing well. The days are hot, but the nights are cooler and the days are shorter. The lower angle of the sun also helps. I may do a follow up video to show how everything I planted when it was cooler is faring after the heat wave.
October is still so hot in AZ. At what temperature can we start planting outside. Mine fried again even though I got them used to being outside. Can you do a video on your grow room and how you use grow lights? I never know how close to put the lights.
LOVE LOVE watching your videos... I just ordered your monthly calendars and I started raised bed garden beds last week... radish comes up soooo fast! I garden along the Colorado River near Bullhead City area.... very hot here.... your channel is absolutely amazing. Thanks for all you do.
Really ? It's still over °100 🤷 Seems still a bit hot 🔥 I'm in Tucson! Also, where did you get that little wooden planting tool ? Love it ! With my arthritis it would 💯 help
Great video! Thank you so much. Very helpful. This high heat has me a bit worried. Im going to put down more mulch and keep stuff shaded and move forward, I think
I have a question for you and for everyone who has solved the problem. What do I do with the scorpions? They tell me not to put rocks or mulch or anything, not to put flower pots because the scorpions love humidity and being under shade under the plants, but what do I do?
I live with scorpions - but I don't put my hand where I can't see, and am aware where they might be. They are a part of the food chain in my yard and eat other bugs I don't like (like crickets).
@@GrowingInTheGarden But tell me, how do you protect in side your house from scorpions, especially if you have a 2-year-old child? Yesterday we found one in the kitchen.
@@seamoscomplices you need to close up any openings to your house. Can they come in through your clothes dryer vent or is it closed off with some kind of screen. Can they get in through any other holes around your home. Any gaps anywhere. They have to be getting in some where.
@GrowingInTheGarden how do you keep your seedlings from being eaten? I have planted my celery or dill that small before in my bed, but they get eaten. I believe from the crickets, grass hoppers or others lol. Do you put any bug prevention stuff in your soil or use diatomaceous earth?
Sluggo plus! Saves me with every new plantings! It's certified for organic gardening and stops pill bugs earwigs and others from getting your seedlings.
Amazing - just this morning I was thinking about whether the bottom of a celery stalk could be planted to grow. Excited to give it a go! As always, thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise. 🪴💚

Would love to see more videos on your Greenstalk. I just got one. Thanks for all you do for the desert gardening community.
I thought when you do a celery base, bury only the bottom half. Now I need to try your way!

Wow, thank you!
Hi Angela, I always look forward to your videos. You always have great information . 😊
Thank you! Thanks for watching.
The aerosol spraying of the air has killed most of what I planted so I'm waiting until it's cooler and they can't spray as much good luck
Hi Angela, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Here on the west side, in Avondale. My watermelon are still going strong.
I love your videos …thank you for all the tips . Re: planting garlic … do you used store bought one or it’s a specific one . Thank you
