I see this song being about Jesus and God's goal, view and love. ("lion and the lamb", "why you had to swallow up my poison?", "you leave me breathless", "beautiful madness", I also can swear that I had heard in the first plays of the original versions "my Lord, my Lord, my Lord", instead of "my love, my love, my love, my love"; I also could hear "you are so good at sin (in dealing with sin, not sinning)", probably so that the song may reach more people - Paddy is a Christian, and he frecvently has Christian messages or motifs; even in the video of the song we can see a short and almost smooth scene with him embracing a lamb, which most likely is THE Lamb, which is Jesus)
