Adding bush and birch definitely killed your run there You had a good thing going with shells and octopus but you just keep blocking the octopus from getting more shells Also the Obelisk does not say it has to be adjacent to mythicals, it just gives 20 everytime a mythical appears (which IS good with hydra because it spawns more mythicals when it dies)

you didn't need to place the hydras next to the obelisk, it said on the board not adjacent
