Current student at bu and I’m iffy on this, the university does a ton with financial aid and I know kids who are lower class who go there, so they are represented. But there are far more ultra rich people there. So represented, yes. Equal, no. But then again that’s how all private colleges are! I think BU does a good job.

Unfortunately college like mine have to reach like a “diversity quota” which means they need a certain number of minorities and working class people. It’s honestly Fucked up. it’s great they’re giving them an affordable education but it’s not because they genuinely want to, they do it to continue to receive their funding from the government :(
Yeah I get what you’re saying, and I agree somewhat. Diversity quotas in regards to race make no sense and are inherently racist. But, in my opinion, in terms of class they make a great deal of sense and give equality of opportunity. Consider BU, who has a 20% pell grant population. Meaning for every 4 rich kids, there is 1 from lower income. College as a whole is very classist due to the extreme cost. But from personal experience Bu does a really great job at doing as much as it can for allowing those from lower backgrounds to pursue a world class education. All colleges do their best on this part, but I genuinely think BU does very, very well on doing as much as they possibly can.

They could be rent the runway but it’s the fact she has to have them in every shot, every vlog, and work them into everyday life to try and prove a point she’s “made it” by buying certain shoes to use to chase her boyfriend around in. She’s very new money and extremely materialistic. In her christmas vlog with Max, he showed his wallet she got him and all she did was rip it out of his hands to tell the viewers what designer it was. He didn’t care about the designer, but Gretchen HAD to prove to everyone she could afford to buy him and designer wallet.

Owning nice things doesn't make Gretchen (or anyone else) a bad person-- she also gives back a lot and is incredibly giving. Just wanted to add some perspective :)

BU has a 20-something% acceptance rate (it was 18% for the 2020 incoming freshman) and is $70,000. Haha its not a state school, but so many kids from mass who didn’t grow up in the Boston area think it is. It’s private though! A top 40 school for the country. Definitely up there with the ivys.
