@OPEnderMan-e9r Since we already know that Yoshi will have an important role in the movie, perhaps Bowser JR. side note: yes i know bowser JR and baby bowser are not the same character but bowser JR is much more popular and well known and I don't think it is set in the past or there is time travel in this movie, and bowser JR had fought with the Yoshi in crafted world
@OPEnderMan-e9r it wasn't aimed at you, there are always know-it-all people, I just said it to be sure, almost 40 years of nonstop content can sometimes be confusing
We need a part 2. I mostly agree with this ranking, I would maybe put Detective Pikachu over the Mario movie because I felt more hyped and engaged with its action scenes, but that's just my opinion. Just a question: Is it fair to compare Mario's movie to Sonic's movies in a sense of Mario having one and Sonic having 3? I mean not alot of people remember the character judgement Sonic had when he only had that one movie and so, when Tails and Knuckles shows up on the screen that's when people started getting in depth on the idea of future character growth and story plotting. Mario, however, is already getting judged by the fact that, even though the segments were set up, there's no further continuation of they're characteristics, and How come no one's mentioning a prequel of explanations? They could be trying to get more detail in later projects too you know. Cartoons take a lot more to work with then live action you know. I'm not trying to be rude, I just don't think is fair to compare Sonic's movies to Mario's one movie, cause we got to see more of the Sonic characters growth then the Mario's.
You're right, it may not be fair to do that because the whole point of the Mario movie was to be an introduction while the Sonic movie series already has a trilogy and is more fleshed out in that sense.
I love both movies, but people probably only compare them because of a console war from over 30 years ago (literally), this reasoning in my opinion is nonsense, both for movies and video games. For movies you are right, they are not comparable because animation takes more time. For videogames the comparison between Mario and Sonic is senseless now that Sega and Nintendo are no longer fighting and even had a partnership (which ended because of the Olympics). I hope fans of both franchises can understand this
@AforAnimation888 Mario voice actor said so and someone on SEGA said it in an interview MARIO AND SONIC ARE BEST FRIENDS OUTSIDE OF THE SERIES! WE LOVE THEM BOTH. THANK YOU so much for agreeing.

I really enjoy Mario 93 cause it had vision. It wanted to take the characters places. Mario 2023 just feels like soulless "Hey, it's the thing!" every 20 to 40 seconds. Except Bowser, Luigi, Toad, and the Luma. The first three's fandom clearly shined in their performances and Luma was just a mood.
I don’t know if you should be ranking films you haven’t seen, but I do agree with most of this list. And, to be fair, I haven’t watched Borderlands or the OG Mario movie, so take that as you will.
Good video! Here's a thing I've noticed. While game adaptations tended to be seen as always bad in the past, that mostly comes from live-action. Animated movies back then were already decent to good! Let me add some more movies with this in mind, with my personal thoughts: Street Fighter 2 The Animated Movie: An excellent adaptation of SF 2, that utilizes most of the cast well, with top-notch animation, iconic scenes, a good original soundtrack. It still influences the series to thus day, especially the Alpha games and SF 6 (Other SF OVAs and animations also were good. And SF Assassin Fist, a live-action miniseries endorsed by Capcom was a great adaptation too!);
The Resident Evil CGI movies(Damnation, Degeneration and Vendetta): Actually good extra stories that respect and add to the RE lore and characters. Not outright necessary and flawed in some aspects, but still fun, well-made, and some have spectacular animation, usually thanks to Marza Animation Planet, the CGI studio that is most known for the Sonic franchise;
Ratchet & Clank: This one is divisive. I personally love it for introducing me to the series and having watched alongside a dear person, but it has worthy critiques mostly from being different from the original PS2 game. Still, the visuals and animation are fantastic, the art direction is straight up one-to-one with the PS3 games, they got most of the original cast from the games, it has some fun action and funny moments. The consensus is that the fandom prefers the original game but the PS4 game based on the movie is good and actually brought back the franchise due to being a commercial success, unlike the movie;
Angry Birds 1 and 2: Surprisingly good. These are some of the most unhinged and hilarious animated comedies I've seen, and it has so many quotable lines and iconic scenes. It pays a lot of tribute to the classic mobile games, reinventing some old gameplay elements in a way that makes more scene for a proper narrative. Plus, the character journey for Red was actually compelling and the 1st one did get me emotional at the end. They had flaws but still hold up as good adaptations and fun comedies. I'm so glad we're getting a third movie thanks to Sega buying Rovio.
Mortal Kombat (Both the 90s one and the 2021 one): I say both are very good, faithful overall, adaptations, while still having flaws holding them back, with each movie for their own reasons. The 90s one is fun, has a compelling cast who are still beloved like Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Shang Tsung, and follows the original plot very well, but the lore was so new that some omissions and changes were made, it lacked the gore synonymous with MK, plus it is a older movie with outdated visuals and quirks of the 90s. The 2021 one is gory, very in-line with the modern lore with few deviations, has good choreography and VFXs, and the cast is great, especially Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion and Joe Taslim as Sub-zero, but the biggest gripes among fans are that it didn't have a tournament and the introduction of Cole Young, a new protagonist that most weren't interest in. While the 90s one has Annihilation as a bad sequel, the 2021 did well enough to have a sequel being developed, with Karl Urban starring as Johnny Cage plus more game characters and a actual tournament, addressing the previous critiques. I can't wait!
Final Fantasy Advent Children and Kingsglaive: Respectively based on FF 7 and FF 15, both are great additional stories that enrich the original game's narratives, with beautiful animation, iconic moments, good soundtracks, and decent acting all around. More flawed when compared to the original games, but still worthwhile watches, especially for hardcore fans. (Heck, Advent Children is still being referenced in the Remakes and in Smash Bros! That's how beloved and influential it is!)
Bowser said he was finally going to be Happy when he was going to marry peach. What does he mean by that? Donkey Kong said he's more then a guy who likes to smash things. There might be something in there, you know? Peach's origin seems like she might or might not be part of earth. Perhaps Rosalina might be involved in the fire flower plains scene. Like Longclaws map, some of the quotes might be for future projects too, who knows?!
