Patrick Macnee and Ian Carmichael are both superb in this. Perfect diction; the words just flow. If only they'd both had the chance to do more work like this in their highly successful careers; they'd have been even more highly praised. Marvelous.
What a find. I never knew this existed. I love the Honor Blackman The Avengers seasons and MacNee presumably made this around that time or soon after with the same distinctive opening and closing ABC credits
8 min's 12 sec's : I was looking forward to hearing Lady Bracknell say about the lady who's husband died, and : "She has gone quite GOLD with grief !" Here, Lady B. said " She looks quite 40 years younger !"🤔. How come the different line ? I do enjoy comparing different productions. So far, imho, no-one has surpassed Dame Edith Evans as Lady Bracknell.⭐😊 Great to see these stars together here. What a treat !😊 🇬🇧😊⭐📖💙🇬🇧
Pamela Brown for Edith, Fenella Fielding for Ms Greenwood. Dang! Want to see who took the Miles Malleson role, and as for 'Laeticia, AKA Joy, the future Miss Marple, the Blithe Spirit Spiritualist...Well! Dangarees! Hard to compare with the incomparable, but ball room prancing was not yet moribund in '64, when moi was ...11.... Oscar was still not spinning in his graverly... wanna see who was nearer, Good God, to She the Rigger of Diana and Artemis means will get around to seeing this, despite knowing the Miguel Redgrave and Dorothy Tutin SO well... Pamela was the huntress in "I Know Where I'm Going to be Tuesday next! Blimey Limeys from a bleedin' Yank, moi thank. I Know Irene, but vague on Brambella nd no idea who Packs George the indeterminate number's Lloyd but not Llewellyn.... 8 minutes in and hooked like the dead herrings in 39 Steps.

Only a bit difficult to understand every word of the dialogue.
I only know the classic film version with Edith Evans. But this is very enjoyable, with a great cast. Many thanks for this hidden gem.

Ah, Fenella Fielding… “Do you mind if I smoke?”.
Good to see Wilfred Bramble (Steptoe) 😃
I have been hoping to see this for years!!! its so hard to find any of Fenella's works - and such a great cast in all!! what a joy!
Just love I. Carmicheal.😊
Really good production. Ian Carmichael superb, as ever.

( Ah, must check this :

A bit of trivia: Pamela Brown, who here plays Lady Bracknell, had previously played Gwendolen in John Gielgud's production.
Wilfred Brambell was Paul's grandfather in "A Hard Day's Night".
With Charles Lloyd Pack father of Roger of Trigger fame
I suppose one must have very good ears to understand every word of Patrick Macnee's dialogue.
I have very poor ears but followed his every word.
Sorry, Brambell. Really ejoyed this
