    I just think for the price it shouldn't use veneer. Also get rid of the power cord. For that price I would want to make sure that I put it somewhere that I would see it everyday or as much as possible. So I was looking at the mini and my coffee table would be the best place to see it most often. but I don't want to have a power cord running across my living room floor.

    Have you guys thought of offering different colors of sand, such as black or red? Or even a synthetic sand could come in any color. Perhaps even diamond reflective type of materials. The simple version of this would be fine glitter, I suppose.

    • @katdeville

      Black would practically negate the purpose of having patterns in the sand. You'd have to use a light source above to see the patterns. As for red, simple - set all LEDs to red. You'd have to dye sand or find a suitable material in red. Dye fades. Stick to LEDs.

    • @neondennon

    Is there a distance from the edge the sand should not be, or it can touch the edges of the inner part

      1. Yes all the tables come with extra sand.
      2. The sand can go out to the edge, but the ball will only circle out a certain amount and there can be a build up of sand over a long period of time.

    cool but the wood venear looks kinda cheap or something, maybe a stone type surface. in all the pirctures, the wood venear makes it look gimicky like wood veneer on a high tech oil defuser. maybe have higher end model material and design wise, that you can push it more towards a artistic sculpure that is also a table. these look more like tables with sand thing inside. just my 2cents

    • @jondoe-eg1ty
      @jondoe-eg1ty 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i see some other shaped models those look better, i still think it needs to me pushed more sculture /art, because most people that buy expensive tables already look at table as a form or sculpure. so making a expensive kenetic table that then without the kenetic sculpure would look like a cheap piece of furniture is a bit gimmicky looking for lack of a better term.

      We have designed our tables to be as quiet as possible. Care has been taken in the selection of motors and drivers to ensure there are nearly silent in operation, with measures to attenuate the sound of the ball on the sand. We have played with a few similar devices and know how distracting the noise can be. The slower the speed, the quieter the motors, and at full speed our motors are at 25 Db. We hope this helps!

    It looks very cheaply made especially from the pricetags I saw in the web page which are like 4 digit numbers lol I looks like what I would do in a week (mostly for shaping the structure) in my garage and I see that you stuck to it a raspbperry pi with a motor driver on the bottom and called it a day xD lol and the cable is hideous as well its not a practical device its supposed to be a decorative piece thus it should look elegant not like a bodge job gadget.... even the led string seems a little bit off (e.g 4:22 if you look at the bottom of the video it seems like the led strip clue failed on that part lol)
    In general it seems too half assed a project with cheap materials wouldnt complain if it costed like 100$ or less but for the money you asking just the trivial idea of driving a ball on sand to make nice shapes isnt enough imho... you need to step up your game especially the cable needs to leave make it solar with batteries or find a way eliminate the cable (e.g a base that wirelessly charges from the feet that you can but under a carpet or something so that no cable or base charging is visible.

    • @billkillernic
      @billkillernic 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@yeatus0121 dont need one, but if you like to make one I can help you step by step on how to use an Arduino or a raspberry pi (like used here I noticed that because its bodged underneath the surface and was exposed) to make one its very easy, you need one SoC like the aforementioned, then connected a driver to it(is a PCB that sends power to motors) and 2 motors for your two axis (x and y) then the main idea is to glue a magnet on the axis rods , write a simple program in python (or any other language python is just more noob friendly and math friendly) by having it move randomly there are also mathematical formulas that can draw other more interesting shapes
      and that's it if you dont mind it being ugly and having a huge cord to plug it in you can make a similar table like the one shown above with about 50$ and a few hours of your time mainly spend on setting up the motors by calibrating them via software and for coding the movement of the ball
