Why this lady hasn’t been declared India’s greatest dancer is beyond me. Grace and precision in each movement. Wow!
Just watch this same abhinaya by Guru Kunkum Mohanty, then only one can realise what is abhinaya in Odissi.
Watching this live was a treat!!! 🎉

Spectacular! Does anyone know what this dance sequence is about?
This sequence/story is about Sita spotting a beautiful deer and wants it for herself. She asks Lord Rama to capture it for her. He goes into the forest and shoots but then the deer plays a trick where it crys out like Lord Rama is in despair. Hearing this cry Sita summons Lord Lakshmana to help him. He refuses at first but Sita convinces him to go on the condition she is not allowed to step out of the house. For her protection he draws 3 lines (lakshmana rekha). Ravan sees this and desguises himself as a begger asks her for food and water. She steps out of the line. He kidnaps her. Jatayu the bird comes to help, but in the midst of the battle Ravan cuts his wing off.
