Thank you for another great show, fellas. That is some beautiful country to graze cattle on. Your cattle look like they have summered very well. I saw a bear today on my ranch. There's a healthy population of them. You folks take care. See you next week.
Another fun video Shawn, bears and cubs oh my! How lucky to be in such beautiful country and you know it and appreciate it! Thanks for sharing as always. Drifter looked good out there:) funny roping at the end! Gotta have fun. God bless❤
Another awesome video! I have elk hunted in Colorado many years ago but it was sure nice to get drone footage of the beautiful country to help get an idea of where you were pushing cows!Thank you for taking us along! I wish that I was moving cows while on the back of a good horse. Take care & God Bless you all.
Thank you this is one of the best videos I've seen you put out yet really enjoyed the bear footage scenery was great the cattle acted very calm I really enjoyed it thank you
Discovered your channel today. Spent time watching various videos about what you do and how you do it. Love learning your lifestyle and the beauty of your part of the country.😎😎
I'm a day late to viewing this video, but I surely enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing. BTW: You're correct. Rose hips are very healthy, especially that triple wild variety out there on the mountain. 😊
Beautiful week. Looks like bear season is gonna be a good one...I bet if that bear came at you, Hurrah would go after it for you, chuckle...with all the rain , feed in the area is awesome this year...
Always enjoy the videos they are awesome . Very petty country you guys sure seem a few bears this time moving cattle. Do the bears ever bother the cattle. Thank you for the great video 👍
That was very cool to see the Bears. Does it make you guys feel good that you are helping to feed America being Ranchers raising Beef? The cattle look good and healthy. Do you guys see Bears often while Ranching in Utah and Colorado? Nature sure is Beautiful.
Hey Ty, we see more bears in Colorado for sure, but their bear hunting regulations are different than Utah. Utah has a very aggressive bear hunting program so we don't have as many bears in Utah. We love what we do, it is fun to see the calves grow! Take care.
Awesome! thank you. I knew that those were rose bushes, but was not sure what kind they were. They are all over up there. I am going to pick some of those bulbs, I hear they make really great and healthy tea.
When you go home do you have a herder to keep an eye on them? When I ran cattle in the mountains we always had to hire a herder or two. I was in an association and there was about 1600 head. My great grandfather ran cattle up the canyon before there was a forest service. They did over grazed. There was about 2500 head they ran before the forest service cut them back. Over the years the government has continued to cut and now they only run 1200. The reason I sold out was the bs the association members themselves were causing working with the forest service. They paid the price and now only run 1200. Best thing I ever done was to get rid of the permit. Instead of two weeks to round up my cows it took me an hour.
@@fleetskipper1810 my pardner heel him and we got him tied up early marked and branded with a triangle g. I took off dragging him and he came off the rope in the middle of the buffalo river. He bit my pardner on the hand untying him
Damn. I heard that a Bear will damn sure come up the rope a little bit. Was your parents name Clay O'Brien Cooper? You Bet! You see there is something you just don't hear about at a Branding or hell any where. 1800 Drifter's and their people is where it's at fokes. Never in a million years thought I'd be reading though the comments and see something like roped and Bear together.
So far they have not bothered the cows. But yes, there are a lot this year. Thankfully we do not have Wolves to deal with. We sure hope that does not become an issue.
For us tinhorns, could you elaborate on why your moving this large of a herd to a higher elevation this time of year? Hard work through that thick brush. But good comrade and a rainbow make up for it. Love this video!
Hi, sure I will try to do that in next weeks video. In a nut shell, for us September is the month the calves gain the most weight. It cools down and the bugs die off. So we try to put them on the very best feed during September. They will gain close to 2 pounds a day on that grass. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for taking us along. it's fascinating how those calves can find their mothers amongst that chorus of mooing cows !😊

Lovely opening shot! WOW lots of bears. If they attacked your cows would you shoot at them? Great video. Thank you so much!
Yes we would. We have the right to protect our livestock, but I sure hope it never comes to that.
Always enjoy the videos they are awesome . Very petty country you guys sure seem a few bears this time moving cattle. Do the bears ever bother the cattle. Thank you for the great video 👍

I don't know if anyone else notices, I for one appreciate you identifying the flora! Love that rose growing in a forest!

What's that flowery bush you showed us. :Could it be wild roses ?
My cousin and I are coming to Colorado next month for a bear hunt where do y’all run cows at in Colorado our unit is just east of grand junction
Hey, we are south of Grand Junction about 90 miles. I think you picked a good year, everyone we have talked to is seeing a lot of bears.

God dam, bears everywhere, y'all. Do they bother your tasty looking calves? Are there darn wolves there to that y'all have to deal with as well?
